Give the King Your Judgments
Of Solomon.
72 O God, give the king (A)Your judgments,
And (B)Your righteousness to the king’s son.
2 [a]May [b]he (C)render judgment to Your people with righteousness
And (D)Your [c]afflicted with justice.
3 Let the mountains lift up [d](E)peace to the people,
And the hills, in righteousness.
4 [e]May he (F)give justice to the [f]afflicted of the people,
Save the children of the needy,
And crush the oppressor.
5 [g]Let them fear You (G)while the sun endures,
And [h]as long as the moon, from generation to all generations.
6 [i]May he come down (H)like rain upon the mown grass,
Like (I)showers that water the earth.
7 [j]May the (J)righteous flourish in his days,
And (K)abundance of peace until the moon is no more.
8 May he also have dominion (L)from sea to sea
And from the River to the ends of the earth.
9 [k]Let (M)the desert creatures (N)kneel before him,
And his enemies (O)lick the dust.
10 [l]Let the kings of (P)Tarshish and of the (Q)coastlands bring a present;
The kings of (R)Sheba and (S)Seba (T)offer tribute.
11 [m]And let all (U)kings bow down to him,
All (V)nations serve him.
12 For he will (W)deliver the needy when he cries for help,
The [n]afflicted also, and him who has no helper.
13 He will have (X)compassion on the poor and needy,
And the [o]lives of the needy he will save.
14 He will (Y)redeem their [p]life from oppression and violence,
And their blood will be (Z)precious in his sight;
15 So may he live! And may they give to him the (AA)gold of Sheba;
And let each pray for him continually;
Let each bless him all day long.
16 May there be abundance of grain in the earth on top of the mountains;
May its fruit wave like the cedars of (AB)Lebanon;
And may those from the city blossom like (AC)vegetation of the earth.
17 May his (AD)name endure forever;
May his name [q]increase [r](AE)as long as the sun shines;
Let all nations [s](AF)be blessed in him;
(AG)Let all nations call him blessed.
18 (AH)Blessed be Yahweh God, the God of Israel,
Who alone (AI)works wondrous deeds.
19 And blessed be His (AJ)glorious name forever;
And may the whole (AK)earth be filled with His glory.
(AL)Amen, and Amen.

Solomon’s Riches and Wisdom
14 (A)Now the weight of gold which came to Solomon in one year was 666 talents of gold, 15 besides that from the traders and the [a]wares of the merchants and all the kings of the (B)Arabs and the governors of the country. 16 (C)And King Solomon made 200 large shields of beaten gold, [b]using 600 shekels of gold on each large shield. 17 And he made (D)300 shields of beaten gold, [c]using [d]three minas of gold on each shield, and (E)the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon. 18 Moreover, the king made a great throne of (F)ivory and overlaid it with refined gold. 19 There were six steps to the throne and a round top to the throne at its rear, and [e]arms [f]on each side of the seat, and two lions standing beside the [g]arms. 20 Twelve lions were also standing there on the six steps on the one side and on the other; nothing like it was made for all the other kingdoms. 21 Now all King Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold. None was of silver; it was not considered [h]valuable in the days of Solomon. 22 For (G)the king had at sea the ships of Tarshish with the ships of Hiram; once every three years the ships of Tarshish came carrying gold and silver, ivory and apes and peacocks.
23 (H)So King Solomon became greater than all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom. 24 And all the earth was seeking the presence of Solomon, (I)to hear his wisdom which God had put in his heart. 25 (J)And they brought every man his present, articles of silver and gold, garments, weapons, spices, horses, and mules, a set amount year by year.
11 And He Himself (A)gave (B)some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as (C)evangelists, and some as pastors and (D)teachers, 12 (E)for the equipping of the [a]saints for the work of service, to the building up of (F)the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to (G)the unity of the faith, and of the [b](H)full knowledge of the Son of God, to a (I)mature man, to the measure of the stature [c]which belongs to the (J)fullness of Christ, 14 so that we are (K)no longer to be children, (L)tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by (M)craftiness [d]in (N)deceitful scheming, 15 but [e]speaking the truth (O)in love, [f]we are to (P)grow up in all aspects into Him who is the (Q)head, that is Christ, 16 from whom (R)the whole body, being joined and held together [g]by what every joint supplies, according to the properly (S)measured working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself (T)in love.
