Psalm 84:1-7

Blessed Is the Man Who Trusts in You

For the choir director. According to the [a]Gittith. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm.

84 How lovely are Your (A)dwelling places,
O Yahweh of hosts!
My (B)soul has longed and even [b]fainted for the courts of Yahweh;
My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the (C)living God.
Even the bird has found a home,
And the swallow a nest for herself, where she sets her young,
At Your (D)altars, O Yahweh of hosts,
(E)My King and my God.
How (F)blessed are those who dwell in Your house!
They are (G)ever praising You. [c]Selah.

How blessed is the man whose (H)strength is in You,
In [d]whose heart are the (I)highways to Zion!
Passing through the valley of [e]Baca they make it a [f]spring;
The (J)early rain also wraps it up with blessings.
They (K)go from strength to strength,
[g]Each one of them (L)appears before God in Zion.

Jeremiah 9:17-26

17 Thus says Yahweh of hosts,

“Carefully consider and call for the (A)mourning women, that they may come;
And send for the [a](B)skillful women, that they may come!
18 Let them make haste and take up a wailing for us,
That our (C)eyes may shed tears
And our eyelids flow with water.
19 For a voice of (D)wailing is heard from Zion,
(E)How we are destroyed!
We are put to great shame,
For we have (F)left the land
Because they have cast down our dwellings.’”
20 Indeed, hear the word of Yahweh, O you (G)women,
And let your ear receive the word of His mouth;
Teach your daughters wailing,
And everyone her neighbor a funeral lamentation.
21 For (H)death has come up through our windows;
It has entered our palaces
To cut off the (I)infants from the streets,
The choice men from the open squares.
22 Speak, “Thus declares Yahweh,
‘The corpses of men will fall (J)like dung on the open field
And like the sheaf after the reaper,
But no one will gather them.’”

23 Thus says Yahweh, “(K)Let not a wise man boast in his wisdom, and let not the (L)mighty man boast in his might; let not a (M)rich man boast in his riches, 24 but let him who boasts (N)boast in this, that he [b]understands and knows Me, that I am Yahweh who (O)shows lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness on earth; for I (P)delight in these things,” declares Yahweh.

25 “Behold, the days are coming,” declares Yahweh, “that I will punish all who are circumcised and yet (Q)uncircumcised— 26 Egypt and Judah, and Edom and the sons of Ammon, and Moab and (R)all those inhabiting the desert who clip the hair on their temples; for all the nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are (S)uncircumcised of heart.”

2 Timothy 3:10-15

10 But you (A)followed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, (B)love, [a]perseverance, 11 (C)persecutions, and (D)sufferings, such as happened to me at (E)Antioch, at (F)Iconium, and at (G)Lystra. What (H)persecutions I endured, and out of them all (I)the Lord rescued me! 12 Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus (J)will be persecuted.

13 But evil men and impostors (K)will proceed from bad to worse, (L)deceiving and being deceived.

14 But you, (M)continue in the things you learned and became convinced of, knowing from whom you learned them, 15 and that (N)from childhood you have known (O)the sacred writings which are able to (P)make you wise unto (Q)salvation through faith which is in (R)Christ Jesus.
