Daniel 7:9-10

One Like the Son of Man[a]

While I was watching,
    thrones were set in place,
    and the Ancient One sat on his throne.
His robe was as white as snow,
    and the hair on his head was as pure as wool.
His throne was ablaze with fiery flames,
    and its wheels were a burning fire.
10 A stream of fire surged forth
    and flowed out from his presence.
Thousands upon thousands served him,
    and myriads upon myriads stood before him.
The court was in session,
    and the books lay open.

Daniel 7:13-14

13 As the night visions continued,
    I beheld approaching on the clouds of heaven
    one like a son of man.
He came before the Ancient One
    and was presented to him.
14 Dominion and glory and kingship
    were conferred upon him
so that all peoples and nations of every language
    would become his servants.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion
    that will never pass away,
and his kingdom is one
    that will never be destroyed.

Psalm 93

Psalm 93[a]

Glory of the Lord’s Kingdom

The Lord is King,[b] adorned in splendor;
    the Lord has clothed and girded himself with strength.
[c]He has made the world firm,
    never to be moved.
Your throne has stood firm from the beginning;
    you have existed throughout eternity, O Lord.
The waters[d] have lifted up, O Lord;
    the waters have lifted up their voice;
    the waters have lifted up their roar.
More powerful than the roar of mighty waters,
    more powerful than the crashing waves of the sea,
    mighty on high is the Lord.[e]
Your decrees[f] are firmly established;
    holiness adorns your house,
    Lord, throughout the ages.

Revelation 1:4-8

He Is, He Was, and He Will Return.[a] John, to the seven Churches[b] in Asia: grace to you and peace from him who is, who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before his throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness,[c] the firstborn from the dead and the ruler of the kings of the earth. He loves us and has washed away our sins with his blood and made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power forever and ever. Amen.[d]

Behold, he is coming with the clouds;
    every eye will see him,
    even those who pierced him.
All the peoples of the earth will mourn him.
    So shall it be. Amen.

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “the one who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

John 18:33-37

33 The First Hearing before Pilate. Then Pilate went back into the praetorium, and having summoned Jesus he asked him, “Are you the King of the Jews?” 34 Jesus answered, “Are you saying this on your own, or have others told you about me?” 35 Pilate said, “Am I a Jew? Your own people and the chief priests have handed you over to me. What have you done?” 36 Jesus replied,

“My kingdom does not belong to this world.
If my kingdom did belong to this world,
my followers would have fought
to prevent me from being handed over to the Jews.
The fact is that my kingdom is not here.”

37 Pilate then said to him, “So you are a king!” Jesus answered,

“It is you who say
that I am a king.
For this was I born,
and for this I came into the world:
to testify to the truth.
Everyone who is of the truth
listens to my voice.”
