Lamentations 3:23-33

23 They are renewed [a]every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

24 The Lord is my [b]portion, saith my soul: therefore will I hope in him.

25 The Lord is good unto them that trust in him, and to the soul that seeketh him.

26 It is good both to trust, and to wait for the salvation of the Lord.

27 It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his [c]youth.

28 He sitteth alone, [d]and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him.

29 He putteth his [e]mouth in the dust, if there may be hope.

30 He giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproaches.

31 For the Lord will not forsake forever.

32 But though he send affliction, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.

33 For he doth not [f]punish [g]willingly, nor afflict the children of men,

Psalm 30

30 1 When David was delivered, from great danger, he rendered thanks to God, exhorting others to do the like, and to learn by his example, that God is rather merciful than severe and rigorous towards his children. 7 And also that the fall from prosperity to adversity is sudden. 8 This done, he returneth to prayer, promising to praise God forever.

(A)A Psalm or song of the (B)dedication of the [a]house of David.

I will magnify thee, O Lord: [b]thou hast exalted me, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.

O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast [c]restored me.

O Lord, thou hast brought up my [d]soul out of the grave: thou hast revived me from them that go down into the pit.

Sing praises unto the Lord, ye [e]his Saints, and give thanks [f]before the remembrance of his Holiness.

(C)For he endureth but a while in his anger: but in his favor is life: weeping may abide at evening, but joy cometh in the morning.

And in my [g]prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.

For thou Lord of thy goodness hadst made my [h]mountain to stand strong: but thou didst hide thy face, and I [i]was troubled.

Then cried I unto thee, O Lord, and prayed to my Lord.

What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit! shall the [j]dust give thanks unto thee? or shall it declare thy truth?

10 Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon me: Lord, be thou mine helper.

11 Thou hast turned my mourning into joy: thou hast loosed my sack, and girded me with gladness.

12 Therefore shall my [k]tongue praise thee and not cease: O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee forever.

2 Corinthians 8:7-15

Therefore, as ye abound in everything, in faith and word, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love towards us, even so see that ye abound in this grace also.

[a]This say I not by commandment, but because of the [b]diligence of others: therefore prove I the [c]naturalness of your love.

[d]For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that he being rich, for your sakes became poor, that ye through his poverty might be made rich.

10 [e]And I show my mind herein: for this is expedient for you, which have begun not to do only, but also to [f]will, a year ago.

11 Now therefore perform to do it also, that as there was a readiness to will, even so ye may perform it of that which ye have.

12 [g]For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.

13 [h]Neither is it that other men should be eased and you grieved: But upon [i]like condition, at this time your abundance supplieth their lack:

14 That also their abundance may be for your lack, that there may be equality.

15 As it is written, (A)He that gathered much, had nothing over, and he that gathered little, had not the less.

Mark 5:21-43

21 ¶ And when Jesus was come over again by ship unto the other side, a great multitude gathered together to him, and he was near unto the sea.

22 (A)And [a]behold, there came one of the rulers of the Synagogue, whose name was Jairus: and when he saw him, he fell down at his feet,

23 And besought him instantly, saying, My little daughter lieth at point of death: I pray thee that thou wouldest come and lay thine hands on her, that she may be healed, and live.

24 Then he went with him, and a great multitude followed him and thronged him.

25 ([b]And there was a certain woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years,

26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and it availed her nothing, but she became much worse.

27 When she had heard of Jesus, she came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

28 For she said, if I may but touch his clothes, I shall be whole.

29 And straightway the course of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body, that she was healed of that plague.

30 And immediately when Jesus did know in himself the virtue that went out of him, he turned him round about in the press, and said, Who hath touched my clothes?

31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude throng thee, and sayest thou, Who did touch me?

32 And he looked round about, to see her that had done that.

33 And the woman feared and trembled: for she knew what was done in her, and she came and fell down before him, and told him the whole truth.

34 And he said to her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole: go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.)

35 While he yet spake, there came from the same ruler of the Synagogue’s house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why diseasest thou the master any further?

36 [c]As soon as Jesus heard that word spoken, he said unto the ruler of the Synagogue, Be not afraid: only believe.

37 And he suffered no man to follow him save Peter and James, and John the brother of James.

38 So he came unto the house of the ruler of the Synagogue, and saw the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.

39 And he went in, and said unto them, Why make ye this trouble, and weep? the child is not dead, but sleepeth.

40 [d]And they laughed him to scorn: but he put them all out, and took the father, and the mother of the child, and them [e]that were with him, and entered in where the child lay,

41 And took the child by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi, which is by interpretation, Maiden, I say unto thee, arise.

42 And straightway the maiden arose, and walked: for she was of the age of twelve years, and they were astonied out of measure.

43 And he charged them straitly that no man should know of it, and commanded to give her meat.
