Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
23 They are new (A)every morning;
Great is (B)Your faithfulness.
24 “Yahweh is my (C)portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I (D)wait for Him.”
Teth
25 Yahweh is good to those who (E)hope in Him,
To the soul who (F)seeks Him.
26 It is good that he (G)waits silently
For the salvation of Yahweh.
27 It is good for a man that he should bear
The yoke in his youth.

28 Let him (H)sit alone and be silent
Since He has laid it on him.
29 Let him [a]put his mouth in the (I)dust;
Perhaps there is (J)hope.
30 Let him give his (K)cheek to the one who strikes him;
Let him be saturated with reproach.

You Have Turned My Mourning into Dancing
A Psalm. A Song at the Dedication of the House. Of David.
30 I will (A)exalt You, O Yahweh, for You have (B)lifted me up,
And have not let my (C)enemies be glad over me.
2 O Yahweh my God,
I (D)cried to You for help, and You (E)healed me.
3 O Yahweh, You have (F)brought up my soul from Sheol;
You have kept me alive, [a]that I would not (G)go down to the pit.
4 (H)Sing praise to Yahweh, you (I)His holy ones,
And (J)give thanks for the (K)remembrance of His holy name.
5 For (L)His anger is but for a moment,
His (M)favor is for a lifetime;
Weeping may (N)last for the night,
But a shout of joy comes in the morning.
6 Now as for me, I said in my prosperity,
“I will (O)never be shaken.”
7 O Yahweh, by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong;
You (P)hid Your face, I was dismayed.
8 To You, O Yahweh, I called,
And to the Lord I made supplication:
9 “What profit is there in my blood, if I (Q)go down to the pit?
Will the (R)dust praise You? Will it declare Your truth?
10 “(S)Hear, O Yahweh, and be gracious to me;
O Yahweh, be my (T)helper.”
11 You have turned for me (U)my mourning into dancing;
You have (V)loosed my sackcloth and girded me with (W)gladness,
12 That my [b](X)glory may sing praise to You and not be silent.
O Yahweh my God, I will (Y)give thanks to You forever.
7 But just as you (A)abound (B)in everything, in faith and word and knowledge and in all earnestness and in [a]the love we inspired in you, see that you (C)abound in this gracious work also. 8 I (D)am not speaking this as a command, but as proving through the earnestness of others the sincerity of your love also. 9 For you know (E)the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that (F)though being rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich. 10 And I (G)give my opinion in this matter, for this is profitable for you, who were the first to begin (H)a year ago not only to do this, but also to desire to do it. 11 But now complete [b]doing it also, so that just as there was the (I)readiness to desire it, so there may be also the completion of it from what you have. 12 For if the readiness is present, it is acceptable (J)according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have. 13 For this is not for the relief of others and for your affliction, but by way of equality— 14 at this present time your abundance being a supply for (K)their need, so that their abundance also may become a supply for (L)your need, that there may be equality. 15 As it is written, “(M)He who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little had no lack.”
Jesus Heals a Woman and Jairus’ Daughter
21 (A)And when Jesus had crossed over again in (B)the boat to the other side, a large crowd gathered around Him; and so He [a]stayed (C)by the seashore. 22 (D)And one of (E)the synagogue [b]officials named Jairus *came up, and on seeing Him, *fell at His feet 23 and *pleaded with Him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter is at the point of death; please come, that by coming, (F)You may lay Your hands on her, so that she will [c]be saved and live.” 24 And He went off with him; and a large crowd was following Him and pressing in on Him.
25 And a woman—who had a hemorrhage for twelve years 26 and had endured much at the hands of many physicians, and had spent all that she had and was not helped at all, but rather had grown worse— 27 after hearing about Jesus, she came up in the crowd behind Him and touched His garment. 28 For she was saying, “If I just touch His garments, I will [d]be saved from this.” 29 And immediately the flow of her blood was dried up; and she knew within her body that she had been healed of her (G)affliction. 30 And immediately Jesus, perceiving in Himself that (H)the power proceeding from Him had gone forth, turned around in the crowd and was saying, “Who touched My garments?” 31 And His disciples were saying to Him, “You see the crowd pressing in on You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’” 32 And He was looking around to see the woman who had done this. 33 But the woman fearing and trembling, aware of what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. 34 And He said to her, “Daughter, (I)your faith has [e]saved you; (J)go in peace and be healed of your (K)affliction.”
35 While He was still speaking, they *came from the house of the (L)synagogue official, saying, “Your daughter has died; why trouble the Teacher anymore?” 36 But Jesus, overhearing what had been spoken, *said to the (M)synagogue official, “(N)Do not be afraid, only [f]believe.” 37 And He allowed no one to accompany Him, except (O)Peter and James and John the brother of James. 38 And they *came to the house of the (P)synagogue official; and He *saw a commotion, and people loudly crying and wailing. 39 And entering in, He *said to them, “Why are you making a commotion and crying? The child has not died, but is asleep.” 40 And they began laughing at Him. But putting them all out, He *took along the child’s father and mother and His own companions, and *entered the room where the child was. 41 And taking the child by the hand, He *said to her, “Talitha kum!” (which translated means, “Little girl, (Q)I say to you, arise!”). 42 And immediately the little girl stood up and began to walk, for she was twelve years old. And immediately they were completely astounded. 43 And He (R)gave them strict orders that no one should know about this, and He said that some food should be given to her to eat.
