Version
Job 38:1-11

38 Then the Lord answered Job out of a whirlwind, and said:

Who is this that wrappeth up sentences in unskillful words?

Gird up thy loins like a man: I will ask thee, and answer thou me.

Where wast thou when I laid up the foundations of the earth? tell me if thou hast understanding.

Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?

Upon what are its bases grounded? or who laid the corner stone thereof,

When the morning stars praised me together, and all the sons of God made a joyful melody?

Who shut up the sea with doors, when it broke forth as issuing out of the womb:

When I made a cloud the garment thereof, and wrapped it in a mist as in swaddling bands?

10 I set my bounds around it, and made it bars and doors:

11 And I said: Hitherto thou shalt come, and shalt go no further, and here thou shalt break thy swelling waves.

Psalm 107:1-3

107 A canticle of a psalm for David himself.

My heart is ready, O God, my heart is ready: I will sing, and will give praise, with my glory.

Arise, my glory; arise, psaltery and harp: I will arise in the morning early.

2 Corinthians 6:1-13

And we helping do exhort you, that you receive not the grace of God in vain.

For he saith: In an accepted time have I heard thee; and in the day of salvation have I helped thee. Behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

Giving no offence to any man, that our ministry be not blamed:

But in all things let us exhibit ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in tribulation, in necessities, in distresses,

In stripes, in prisons, in seditions, in labours, in watchings, in fastings,

In chastity, in knowledge, in longsuffering, in sweetness, in the Holy Ghost, in charity unfeigned,

In the word of truth, in the power of God; by the armour of justice on the right hand and on the left;

By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet true; as unknown, and yet known;

As dying, and behold we live; as chastised, and not killed;

10 As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as needy, yet enriching many; as having nothing, and possessing all things.

11 Our mouth is open to you, O ye Corinthians, our heart is enlarged.

12 You are not straitened in us, but in your own bowels you are straitened.

13 But having the same recompense, (I speak as to my children,) be you also enlarged.

Mark 4:35-40

35 And he saith to them that day, when evening was come: Let us pass over to the other side.

36 And sending away the multitude, they take him even as he was in the ship: and there were other ships with him.

37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that the ship was filled.

38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, sleeping upon a pillow; and they awake him, and say to him: Master, doth it not concern thee that we perish?

39 And rising up, he rebuked the wind, and said to the sea: Peace, be still. And the wind ceased: and there was made a great calm.

40 And he said to them: Why are you fearful? have you not faith yet? And they feared exceedingly: and they said one to another: Who is this (thinkest thou) that both wind and sea obey him?
