Morning Prayer of Trust

O Lord, how many are they who hate me! How many rise up against me! Many are saying of me, “There is no help for him in God.” But You, O Lord, are a covering around me, my shining-greatness, and the One Who lifts my head. I was crying to the Lord with my voice. And He answered me from His holy mountain. I lay down and slept, and I woke up again, for the Lord keeps me safe.

I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people who stand all around against me. Rise up, O Lord! Save me, O my God! For You have hit on the face all those who hate me, and you have broken the teeth of the sinful. It is You Who saves, O Lord. May You bring happiness to Your people.

Habakkuk 2:5-11

It Is Bad for the Wrong-Doers

“Also, wine fools the proud man, so he does not stay at home. He is like the grave who always wants more. Like death, he never has enough. He gathers all nations for himself, and gathers all people for his own. “Will not all these people make fun of him and say, ‘It is bad for him who gathers what is not his and makes himself rich with other people’s money. How long will this go on?’ Will not those to whom you owe money rise up all at once? Will they not wake up and make you afraid? Then they will take what belongs to you. Because you have robbed many nations, the rest of them will rob you. For you have killed men. You have destroyed lands and cities and everyone in them.

“It is bad for him who builds his house by sinful ways, to put his nest in a high place to be safe from trouble! 10 You have brought shame upon your house by destroying many nations. You are sinning against yourself. 11 The stone will cry out from the wall, and the roof will answer it from the wood.

1 John 5:1-5

The person who believes that Jesus is the Christ is a child of God. The person who loves the Father loves His children also. This is the way we know we love God’s children. It is when we love God and obey His Word. Loving God means to obey His Word, and His Word is not hard to obey. Every child of God has power over the sins of the world. The way we have power over the sins of the world is by our faith. Who could have power over the world except by believing that Jesus is the Son of God?

1 John 5:13-21

13 I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God. Now you can know you have life that lasts forever. 14 We are sure that if we ask anything that He wants us to have, He will hear us. 15 If we are sure He hears us when we ask, we can be sure He will give us what we ask for. 16 You may see a Christian brother sinning in a way that does not lead to death. You should pray for him. God will give him life unless he has done that sin that leads to death. There is a sin that leads to death. There is no reason to pray for him if he has done that sin. 17 Every kind of wrong-doing is sin. But there is a sin that does not lead to death. 18 We know that no child of God keeps on sinning. The Son of God watches over him and the devil cannot get near him. 19 We know that we belong to God, but the whole world is under the power of the devil. 20 We know God’s Son has come. He has given us the understanding to know Him Who is the true God. We are joined together with the true God through His Son, Jesus Christ. He is the true God and the life that lasts forever. 21 My children, keep yourselves from false gods.
