146 Praise ye the Lord, because psalm is good: to our God be joyful and comely praise.

² The Lord buildeth up Jerusalem: he will gather together the dispersed of Israel.

³ Who healeth the broken of heart, and bindeth up their bruises.

⁴ Who telleth the number of the stars: and calleth them all by their names.

⁵ Great is our Lord, and great is his power: and of his wisdom there is no number.

⁶ The Lord lifteth up the meek, and bringeth the wicked down even to the ground.

⁷ Sing ye to the Lord with praise: sing to our God upon the harp.

⁸ Who covereth the heaven with clouds, and prepareth rain for the earth. Who maketh grass to grow on the mountains, and herbs for the service of men.

⁹ Who giveth to beasts their food: and to the young ravens that call upon him.

¹⁰ He shall not delight in the strength of the horse: nor take pleasure in the legs of a man.

¹¹ The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him: and in them that hope in his mercy.

³ A poor man that oppresseth the poor, is like a violent shower, which bringeth a famine.

⁴ They that forsake the law, praise the wicked man: they that keep it, are incensed against him.

⁵ Evil men think not on judgment: but they that seek after the Lord, take notice of all things.

⁶ Better is the poor man walking in his simplicity, than the rich in crooked ways.

⁷ He that keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that feedeth gluttons, shameth his father.

⁸ He that heapeth together riches by usury and loan, gathereth them for him that will be bountiful to the poor.

⁹ He that turneth away his ears from hearing the law, his prayer shall be as abomination.

¹⁰ He that deceiveth the just in a wicked way, shall fall in his own destruction: and the upright shall possess his goods.

2 And you, when you were dead in your offences, and sins,

² Wherein in time past you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of this air, of the spirit that now worketh on the children of unbelief:

³ In which also we all conversed in time past, in the desires of our flesh, fulfilling the will of the flesh and of our thoughts, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest:

⁴ But God, (who is rich in mercy,) for his exceeding charity wherewith he loved us,

⁵ Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together in Christ, (by whose grace you are saved,)

⁶ And hath raised us up together, and hath made us sit together in the heavenly places, through Christ Jesus.

⁷ That he might shew in the ages to come the abundant riches of his grace, in his bounty towards us in Christ Jesus.

⁸ For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, for it is the gift of God;

⁹ Not of works, that no man may glory.

¹⁰ For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus in good works, which God hath prepared that we should walk in them.
