Psalm 96:1-9

Sing a New Song

Psalm 96

Sing to Adonai a new song!
Sing to Adonai, all the earth.
Sing to Adonai, bless His Name.
Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.
Declare His glory among the nations,
His marvelous deeds among all peoples.
For great is Adonai, and greatly to be praised.
He is to be feared above all gods.
For all the gods of the peoples are idols,
but Adonai made the heavens.
Splendor and majesty are before Him.
Strength and beauty are in His Sanctuary.
Ascribe to Adonai, O families of peoples.
Ascribe to Adonai glory and strength.
Ascribe to Adonai the glory of His Name.
Bring an offering and come into His courts.
Bow down to Adonai in holy splendor.
Tremble before Him, all the earth.

1 Kings 8:31-40

31 If a man sins against his neighbor and is made to take an oath, then comes and swears before Your altar in this House, 32 then hear from heaven and act and judge Your servants, condemning the wicked, bringing his way on his own head, and justifying the righteous, giving him according to his righteousness.

33 “When Your people Israel are defeated before an enemy, because they have sinned against You, if they turn back to You and confess Your Name and pray and make supplication to You in this House, 34 then hear from heaven, and forgive the sin of Your people Israel, and bring them back to the land which You gave to their fathers.

35 “When the skies are shut up and there is no rain because they have sinned against You, yet if they pray toward this place and confess Your Name and turn from their sin because You have afflicted them, 36 then hear from heaven and forgive the sin of Your servants and Your people Israel. Teach them the good way in which they should walk, and send rain on Your land which You gave to Your people as an inheritance.

37 “If there is famine in the land, if there is pestilence, if there be blight or mildew, locust or caterpillar, if their enemy should besiege them in the land of their cities, whatever plague or sickness, 38 when prayer or supplication is made by anyone or by all Your people Israel—each knowing the plague of his own heart—when one spreads his hands toward this House, 39 then may you hear from heaven, Your dwelling place, forgive and act, and give to each man according to all his ways, as You know his heart to be. For You alone know the hearts of all the children of men. [a] 40 Then they will fear You all the days that they live in the land that You gave to our fathers.

Luke 4:31-37

Healing and Deliverance in Capernaum and Beyond

31 Yeshua came down to Capernaum, a town in the Galilee. He was teaching them on Shabbat, 32 and they were astounded at His teaching because His message had authority. 33 In the synagogue was a man who had an unclean demonic spirit, and he cried out with a loud voice, 34 “Ah! What have we to do with You, Yeshua of Natzeret? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are! You are the Holy One of God!”

35 Yeshua rebuked him, saying, “Quiet! Come out of him!” And when the demon threw him down in their midst, it came out without hurting him.

36 They were all amazed, and they spoke to one another, saying, “What is this message? For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.” 37 So His reputation grew, spreading to every place in that region.
