Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
A Call to Worship the Lord the Righteous Judge.
96 (A)Sing to the Lord a (B)new song;
Sing to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Sing to the Lord, bless His name;
(C)Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.
3 Tell of (D)His glory among the nations,
His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.
4 For (E)great is the Lord, and (F)greatly to be praised;
He is to be (G)feared (H)above all gods.
5 For (I)all the gods of the peoples are [a]idols,
But (J)the Lord made the heavens.
6 (K)Splendor and majesty are before Him,
Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.
14 Then the king [a]turned around and (A)blessed all the assembly of Israel, while all the assembly of Israel was standing. 15 He said, “(B)Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, (C)who spoke with His mouth to my father David, and fulfilled it with His hands, saying, 16 ‘(D)Since the day that I brought My people Israel from Egypt, I did not choose a city out of all the tribes of Israel in which to build a house so that (E)My name would be there, but (F)I chose David to be over My people Israel.’ 17 (G)Now it was [b]in the heart of my father David to build a house for the name of the Lord, the God of Israel. 18 But the Lord said to my father David, ‘Because it was [c]in your heart to build a house for My name, you did well that it was [d]in your heart. 19 (H)Nevertheless you shall not build the house, but your son who [e]will be born to you, he will build the house for My name.’ 20 Now the Lord has fulfilled His word which He spoke; for (I)I have risen in place of my father David and I sit on the throne of Israel, just as the Lord [f]promised, and I have built the house for the name of the Lord, the God of Israel. 21 And there I have set a place for the ark, (J)in which is the covenant of the Lord, which He made with our fathers when He brought them out of the land of Egypt.”
Paul Defends His Apostleship
11 I wish that you would (A)bear with me in a little (B)foolishness; but [a]indeed you are bearing with me. 2 For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy; for I (C)betrothed you to one husband, to (D)present you as a pure virgin to Christ. 3 But I am afraid that, as the (E)serpent deceived Eve by his trickery, your minds will be led astray from sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4 For if [b]one comes and preaches (F)another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a (G)different spirit which you have not received, or a (H)different gospel which you have not accepted, this you (I)tolerate (J)very well! 5 For I consider myself (K)not in the least inferior to the [c]most eminent apostles. 6 But even if I am (L)unskilled in speech, yet I am not so in (M)knowledge; in fact, in every way we have (N)made this evident to you in all things.
