And (A)though you have not seen Him, you (B)love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and [a]full of glory, receiving as (C)the outcome of your faith the salvation of [b]your souls.

10 (D)Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who (E)prophesied of the (F)grace that would come to you, made careful searches and inquiries, 11 [c]inquiring to know what time or what kind of time (G)the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He was (H)predicting the sufferings of Christ and the glories [d]to follow. 12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been declared to you through those who (I)proclaimed the gospel to you by (J)the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things into which (K)angels long to [e]look.

13 Therefore, having [f](L)girded your minds for action, [g](M)being sober in spirit, fix your (N)hope completely on the (O)grace [h]to be brought to you at (P)the revelation of Jesus Christ. 14 As [i](Q)obedient children, not [j](R)being conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your (S)ignorance, 15 but [k](T)like the Holy One who called you, [l](U)be holy yourselves also (V)in all your conduct; 16 because it is written, “(W)You shall be holy, for I am holy.”

17 And if you (X)address as Father the One who (Y)impartially (Z)judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves [m](AA)in fear during the time of your (AB)sojourn,
