Micah 1-3

Micah

1 The destruction of Judah and Jerusalem because of the idolatry.

The word of the Lord, that came unto Micah the [a]Moreshite in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria, and Jerusalem.

Hear, [b]all ye people: hearken thou, O earth, and all that therein is, and let the Lord God be witness against you, even the Lord from his holy Temple.

For behold, the Lord cometh out of his place, and will come [c]down, and tread upon the high places of the earth.

And the mountains shall melt under him (so shall the valleys cleave) as wax before the fire, and as the waters that are poured downward.

For the wickedness of Jacob is all this, and for the sins of the house of Israel: what is the wickedness of Jacob? Is not [d]Samaria? and which are the high [e]places of Judah? Is not Jerusalem?

Therefore I will make Samaria as an heap of the field, and for the planting of a vineyard, and I will cause the stones thereof to tumble down into the valley, and I will discover the foundations thereof.

And all the graven images thereof shall be broken, and all the [f]gifts thereof shall be burnt with the fire, and all the idols thereof will I destroy: for she gathered it of the hire of an harlot, and they shall return [g]to the wages of an harlot.

Therefore I will mourn and howl: I will go without clothes, and naked: I will make lamentation like the dragons, and mourning as the ostriches.

For her plagues are grievous: for it is come into Judah: the enemy is come unto the gate of my people, unto Jerusalem.

10 Declare ye it not at [h]Gath, neither weep ye: for the house of [i]Aphrah roll thyself in the dust.

11 Thou that dwellest at [j]Shaphir, go together naked with shame: she that dwelleth at Zaanan, shall not come forth in the mourning of Beth Ezel: the enemy shall [k]receive of you for his standing.

12 For the inhabitant of Maroth waited for good, but evil came from the Lord unto the [l]gate of Jerusalem.

13 O thou inhabitant of Lachish, bind the chariot to the beasts [m]of price: she [n]is the beginning of the sin to the daughter of Zion: for the transgressions of Israel were found in thee.

14 Therefore shalt thou give presents to Moresheth [o]Gath: the houses of Achzib shall be as a lie to the kings of Israel.

15 Yet will I bring an [p]heir unto thee, O inhabitant of Mareshah, he shall come unto Adullam, [q]the glory of Israel.

16 Make thee bald: and shave thee for thy delicate children: enlarge thy baldness as the eagle, for they are gone into captivity from thee.

1 Threatenings against the wanton and dainty people. 6 They would teach the Prophets to preach.

Woe unto them that imagine iniquity, and work wickedness upon their beds: [r]when the morning is light they practice it, because their hand [s]hath power.

And they covet fields, and take them by violence, and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even man and his heritage.

Therefore thus saith the Lord, Behold, against this family have I devised a plague, whereout ye shall not pluck your necks, and ye shall not go so proudly, for this time is evil.

In that day shall they take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, [t]We be utterly wasted: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he taken it away to restore it unto me? he hath divided our fields.

Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast a cord by lot in [u]the congregation of the Lord.

[v]They that prophesy, Prophesy ye not. [w]They shall not prophesy to them, neither shall they take shame.

O thou that art named of the house of Jacob, is the Spirit of the Lord shortened? [x]are these his works? are not my works good unto him [y]that walketh uprightly?

But he that was [z]yesterday my people, is risen up on the other side, as against an enemy: they spoil the [aa]beautiful garment from them that pass by peaceably, as though they returned from the war.

The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses, and from their children have ye taken away [ab]my glory continually.

10 Arise and depart, for this is not your [ac]rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.

11 If a man [ad]walk in the spirit, and would lie falsely, saying, [ae]I will prophesy unto thee of wine, and of strong drink, he shall even be the prophet of this people.

12 I will surely gather [af]thee wholly, O Jacob: I will surely gather the remnant of Israel: I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, even as the flock in the midst of their fold: the cities shall be full of brute of the men.

13 The [ag]breaker up shall come up before them: they shall break out, and pass by the gate, and go out by it, and their king shall go before them, and the Lord shall be [ah]upon their heads.

1 Against the tyranny of princes and false prophets.

And I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Jacob, and ye princes of the house of Israel: should not ye know [ai]judgment?

But they hate the good, and love the evil: [aj]they pluck off their skins from them, and their flesh from their bones.

And they eat also the flesh of my people, and flay off their skin from them, and they break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron.

Then [ak]shall they cry unto the Lord, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, because they have done wickedly in their works.

Thus saith the Lord, Concerning the prophets that deceive my people, and [al]bite them with their teeth, and cry, peace, but if a man put not into their mouths, they prepare war against him.

Therefore [am]night shall be unto you for a vision, and darkness shall be unto you for a divination, and the Sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them.

Then shall the Seers be ashamed, and the Soothsayers confounded: yea, they shall all cover [an]their lips, for they have none answer of God.

Yet notwithstanding I am full [ao]of power by the Spirit of the Lord, and of judgment, and of strength to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.

Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel: they abhor judgment, and pervert all equity.

10 They build up Zion with [ap]blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity,

11 The heads thereof judge for rewards, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof prophesy for money: yet will they [aq]lean upon the Lord and say, Is not the Lord among us? no evil can come upon us.

12 Therefore shall Zion for your sake be [ar]plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall be an heap, and the mountain of the house, as the high places of the forest.

Revelation 11

11 1 The temple is commanded to be measured. 3 The Lord stirred up two witnesses, 7 whom the beast murdereth, 9 and no man burieth them. 11 God raiseth them to life, 12 and calleth them up to heaven, 13 the wicked are terrified, 15 by the trumpet of the seventh Angel the resurrection, 18 and judgment is described.

[a]Then was given me a reed like unto a rod, and the Angel stood by, saying, Rise and [b]mete the Temple of God, and the Altar, and them that worship therein.

[c]But the [d]Court which is without the Temple [e]cast out, and mete it not: for it is given unto the [f]Gentiles, and the holy city shall they tread under foot, [g]two and forty Months.

But [h]I will give power unto my two witnesses and they shall [i]prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

These [j]are two olive trees, and two candlesticks, standing before the God of the earth.

[k]And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouths and devoureth their enemies: for if any man would hurt them, thus must he be killed.

These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophesying, and have power over waters to turn them into blood, and to smite the earth with all manner plagues, as often as they will.

[l]And when they have [m]finished their testimony, [n]the beast that cometh out of the bottomless pit, shall make war against them, and shall [o]overcome them, and kill them,

And their corpses shall lie in the [p]streets of the great city, which [q]spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, [r]where our Lord also was crucified.

And they of the people and kindreds, and tongues, and Gentiles, shall see their corpses [s]three days and an half, and shall not suffer their carcasses to be put in graves.

10 And they that dwell upon the earth, [t]shall rejoice over them and be glad, and shall send gifts one to another, for these two Prophets [u]vexed them that dwelt on the earth.

11 [v]But after [w]three days and an half, [x]the spirit of life coming from God, shall enter into them, and they [y]shall stand up upon their feet: and great fear shall come upon them which saw them.

12 And they shall hear a great voice from heaven, saying unto them, [z]Come up hither: And they shall ascend up to heaven in a cloud, [aa]and their enemies shall see them.

13 [ab]And the same hour shall there be a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city shall fall, and in the earthquake shall be slain in number seven thousand: and the remnant were sore feared, [ac]and [ad]gave glory to God of heaven.

14 [ae]The second woe is past, and behold, the third woe will come anon.

15 [af]And the seventh Angel blew the trumpet, and there were great voices in heaven, saying, [ag]The kingdoms of the world are our Lord’s, and his Christ’s, and he shall reign for evermore.

16 [ah]Then the four and twenty Elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces and worshipped God.

17 Saying, We give thee thanks, Lord God Almighty, Which art, and which wast, and which art to come: for thou hast received thy great might, and hast obtained thy kingdom.

18 [ai]And the Gentiles were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the Prophets, and to thy Saints, and to them that fear thy Name, to small and great, and shouldest destroy them, which destroy the earth.

19 Then the Temple of God was [aj]opened in heaven, and there was seen in the Temple the Ark of his covenant: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and earthquake, and much hail.
