Daniel 11-12

11 Also, I, in the first year of Darius of the Medes, stood to encourage and strengthen him.

And now I will show you the truth. Behold, there shall stand up three kings in Persia. And the fourth shall be far richer than them all. And by his strength, and by his riches, he shall stir up all against the realm of Greece.

But a mighty king shall stand up, who shall rule with great dominion and do according to his pleasure.

And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken. And it shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven, and not for his posterity, nor according to his dominion, with which he ruled. For his kingdom shall be uprooted, even for others besides these.

And the king of the South shall be mighty, as well as one of his princes. And they shall prevail against him, and bear rule. His dominion shall be a great dominion.

And after some years, they shall be joined together. For the king’s daughter of the South shall come to the king of the North, to make an agreement. But she shall not retain the power of her position. Nor shall he continue, or his power. But she shall be delivered to death at that time, and those who brought her, and he who fathered her, and he who strengthened her.

But out of the bud of her roots shall one stand up in his place; who shall come with an army, and shall enter into the fortress of the king of the North, and do with them as he pleases. And he shall prevail.

And he shall also carry their gods, captives, into Egypt, with their molten images, and their precious vessels of silver and of gold. And he shall continue more years than the king of the North.

So the king of the South shall come into his kingdom, and shall return into his own land.

10 Therefore, his sons shall be stirred up, and shall assemble a mighty, great army. And one shall come and overwhelm, and pass through. Then shall he return to his fortress to provoke strife.

11 And the king of the South shall be angry, and shall come forth, and fight with him; even with the king of the North. For he shall set forth a great multitude. And the multitude shall be given into his hand.

12 Then the multitude shall be carried away. And his heart shall be lifted up. For he shall cast down thousands, but he still shall not prevail.

13 For the king of the North shall return with a greater multitude than before, and shall come forth (after certain years) with a mighty army, and great riches.

14 And at the same time, many shall stand up against the king of the South. Also, the rebellious children of your people shall exalt themselves to establish the vision. But they shall fall.

15 So the king of the North shall come and build a siege mound, and take the strong city. And the armies of the South shall not resist, nor his chosen people; nor shall there be any strength to withstand.

16 But he who shall come, shall do to him as he pleases, and no one shall stand against him. And he shall stand in the pleasant land; which, by his hand, shall be completed.

17 Again he shall set his face to enter, with the power of his whole kingdom, including his confederates. Thus shall he do. And he shall give him the daughter of women to destroy her. But she shall neither stand at his side, nor be for him.

18 After this, shall he turn his face to the coastlands, and shall take many. But a prince shall cause his reproach to be removed; and moreover, shall cause him to turn.

19 For he shall turn his face toward the forts of his own land. But he shall be overthrown and fall, and be found no more.

20 Then shall stand up in his place, in the glory of the kingdom, one that shall raise taxes. But after a few days, he shall be destroyed, though neither in anger nor in battle.

21 And in his place, shall stand up a vile person; to whom they shall not give the honor of the kingdom. But he shall come in peaceably and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.

22 And the armies shall be overthrown like a flood, before him, and shall be broken; and also the prince of the covenant.

23 And after an alliance is made with him, he shall work deceitfully. For he shall come up, and overcome with a small force.

24 He shall enter into the quiet and plentiful province, and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers’ fathers. He shall divide among them the prey and the spoil and the substance. Yea, and he shall make his plans against the strongholds, but only for a time.

25 Also, he shall stir up his power, and his courage against the king of the South, with a great army. And the king of the South shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army. But he shall not stand. For they shall plan and scheme against him.

26 Yea, those who feed upon the portion of his food, shall destroy him. And his army shall be swept away. And many shall fall, and be killed.

27 And both these kings’ hearts shall be to do evil. And they shall talk of deceit at the same table. But it shall not happen. For the end shall still be at the time appointed.

28 Then shall he return into his land with great riches. But his heart shall be moved against the holy covenant, and he shall do damage and return to his own land.

29 At the time appointed, he shall return, and come toward the South. But the last shall not be as the first.

30 For the ships of Chittim shall come against him. Therefore, he shall be sorry and return with anger toward the holy covenant. So shall he do damage, and return, and identify with those who forsake the holy covenant.

31 And armies shall stand on his part. And they shall pollute the Sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice. And they shall set up the abominable desolation.

32 And those who wickedly break the covenant, shall he cause to sin with flattery. But the people who do know their God, shall prevail and prosper.

33 And those who understand among the people, shall instruct many. Still, they shall fall by sword, and by flame; by captivity and by spoil, for many days.

34 Now when they shall fall, they shall be helped with a little help. But many shall still cling to the hypocrisy. And some of them of understanding shall fall - to help them, and to purge, and to make them white - till the time comes. For there is a time appointed.

36 And the king shall do what he pleases. He shall exalt himself, and magnify himself against all that is God; and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods; and shall prosper, till the wrath be accomplished. For the determination is made.

37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desires of women, nor care for any God. For he shall magnify himself above all.

38 But in his place, shall he honor the god, Mauzzim. And the god whom his fathers knew not, shall he honor with gold and with silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.

39 Thus shall he do in the holds of Mauzzim, with a strange god whom he shall acknowledge. He shall increase his glory, and shall cause those who honor him to rule over many; and shall divide the land for gain.

40 And at the end of time, shall the king of the South gore him. And the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships. And he shall enter into the countries, and shall overwhelm, and pass through.

41 He shall enter also into the beautiful land. And many countries shall be overthrown. But these shall escape out of his hand: Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.

42 He shall also stretch forth his hands upon the countries. And the land of Egypt shall not escape.

43 For he shall have power over the treasures of gold, and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt. And the Libyans, and the Ethiopians, shall follow in his footsteps.

44 But the news out of the East and the North shall trouble him. Therefore, he shall go forth with great wrath to destroy and root out many.

45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas on the glorious and holy mountain. Yet, he shall come to his end. And no one shall help him.

12 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince, who stands for the children of your people. And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there began to be a nation until that same time. And at that time, your people shall be delivered; everyone who shall be found written in the book.

And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth, shall awake; some to everlasting life, and some to shame and perpetual contempt.

And those who are wise, shall shine; as the brightness of the sky. And those who turn many to righteousness, shall shine as the stars, forever and ever.

But you, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, till the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro. And knowledge shall be increased.

Then I, Daniel, looked. And behold, there stood two others: one on this side of the riverbank, and the other on the other side of the riverbank.

And one said to the man clothed in linen, who was upon the waters of the river, “When shall the end of these wonders come?”

And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by him who lives forever, that it shall be for a time, two times, and half a time. And when he shall have shattered the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

Though I heard it, I did not understand. Then I said, “O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?”

And he said, “Go your way, Daniel. For the words are closed up, and sealed, till the end of the time.

10 “Many shall be purified, made white, and tried. But the wicked shall do wickedly. And none of the wicked shall have understanding. But the wise shall understand.

11 “And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abominable desolation set up, there shall be a thousand, two hundred and ninety days.

12 “Blessed is he who and comes and awaits the thousand, three hundred and thirty-five days.

13 But go your way, till the end. For you shall rest, and arise for your portion, at the end of days.”

Jude

Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ and brother of James, To those who are called and sanctified by God the Father, and reserved to Jesus Christ:

Mercy to you, and peace and love be multiplied.

Beloved, while I diligently wrote to you of the common salvation, it became necessary for me to write to you in exhortation, so that you would earnestly contend for the faith which was once and for all given to the saints.

For some men have crept in who were long ago pre-ordained to this condemnation; ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into debauchery, and deny God, the only Lord and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, I will remind you (since you once knew this) how that the Lord - after He had delivered the people out of Egypt - destroyed those afterward who did not believe.

Also, the angels who did not keep their first estate - but left their own habitation - He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness until the judgment of the great Day;

as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them which committed fornication and followed strange flesh in the same way they did are set forth as an example and suffer the vengeance of eternal fire.

Likewise also, these dreamers defile the flesh and despise government and speak evil of those who are in authority.

Yet Michael, the archangel, when he strove against the devil and disputed about the body of Moses, did not dare speak evil against him, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”

10 But these speak evil of those things which they do not know. And whatever things they know naturally (as beasts which are without reason), in those things they corrupt themselves.

11 Woe to them! For they have followed the way of Cain and are cast away by the deceit of Balaam’s wages, and perish in the rebellion of Korah!

12 These are reefs in your feasts of charity; feasting with you, shamelessly feeding themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about by winds; corrupt trees without fruit, twice dead and plucked up by the roots.

13 They are the raging waves of the sea, foaming forth their own disgrace. They are wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.

14 And Enoch also - the seventh from Adam - prophesied of such, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with thousands of his saints

15 to give judgment against all, and to rebuke all the ungodly among them of all their wicked deeds which they have ungodly committed; and of all their cruel speech which wicked sinners have spoken against Him.”

16 These are murmurers, complainers (walking after their own lusts), whose mouths speak proud things; admiring others for the sake of advantage.

17 But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the Apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

18 how that they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk after their own ungodly lusts.

19 These are those who cause division from others; bestial, not having the Spirit.

20 But you, beloved, edify yourselves in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.

21 And keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, unto eternal life.

22 And have compassion on some, making distinctions.

23 But save others with fear, pulling them out of the fire. And hate even the garment which is defiled by the flesh.

24 Now to Him Who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His Glory, with joy;

25 to God - only wise, our Savior - be glory and majesty and dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.
