New Testament in a Year
[a]Else what shall they do which are baptized [b]for dead? if the dead rise not at all, why are they then baptized for dead?
[c]Why are we also in jeopardy every hour?
By your [d]rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
[e]If I have fought with beasts at Ephesus [f]after the manner of men, what advantageth it me, if the dead be not raised up? (A)[g]let us [h]eat and drink: for tomorrow we shall die.
[i]Be not deceived: evil speakings corrupt good manners.
Awake to live righteously, and sin not: for some have not the knowledge of God, I speak this to your shame.
[j]But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body come they forth?
[k]O fool, that which thou sowest, is not quickened, except it die.
And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare corn as it falleth, of wheat, or of some other.
[l]But God giveth it a body at his pleasure, even to every seed his own body.
All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one flesh of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another of fishes, and another of birds:
There are also heavenly bodies, and earthly bodies: but the glory of the heavenly is one, and the glory of the earthly is another.
There is another glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
[m]So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is [n]sown in corruption, and is raised in incorruption.
It is sown in [o]dishonor, and is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness, and is raised in [p]power.
[q]It is sown a natural body, and is raised a spiritual body: there is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
[r]As it is also written, The [s]first man (B)Adam was made a living soul: and the last Adam was made a [t]quickening spirit.
[u]Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual: but that which is natural, and afterward that which is spiritual.
The first man is of the earth, [v]earthly: the second man is the Lord from [w]heaven.
[x]As is the earthly, such are they that are earthly: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
And as we have born the [y]image of the earthly, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly.
[z]This say I, brethren, that [aa]flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
[ab]Behold, I show you a [ac]secret thing, We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
In [ad]a moment, in the twinkling of an eye at the last (C)trumpet: for the trumpet shall blow, and the dead shall be raised up incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption: and this mortal must put on immortality.
So when this corruptible hath put on incorruption, and this mortal hath put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying, that is written, (D)Death is swallowed up into victory.
O death where is thy sting? O grave where is thy victory?
The sting of death is sin: and the strength of sin is the Law.
(E)But thanks be unto God, which hath given us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
[ae]Therefore my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, abundant always in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the [af]Lord.
