Version
Deuteronomy 25

25 If there is a controversy between men, and they come to judgment and the judges judge them, then they shall justify the righteous and condemn the wicked. It shall be, if the wicked man is worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down and to be beaten before his face, according to his wickedness, by number. He may sentence him to no more than forty stripes. He shall not give more, lest if he should give more and beat him more than that many stripes, then your brother will be degraded in your sight.

You shall not muzzle the ox when he treads out the grain.

If brothers dwell together, and one of them dies and has no son, the wife of the dead shall not be married outside to a stranger. Her husband’s brother shall go in to her, and take her as his wife, and perform the duty of a husband’s brother to her. It shall be that the firstborn whom she bears shall succeed in the name of his brother who is dead, that his name not be blotted out of Israel.

If the man doesn’t want to take his brother’s wife, then his brother’s wife shall go up to the gate to the elders, and say, “My husband’s brother refuses to raise up to his brother a name in Israel. He will not perform the duty of a husband’s brother to me.” Then the elders of his city shall call him, and speak to him. If he stands and says, “I don’t want to take her,” then his brother’s wife shall come to him in the presence of the elders, and loose his sandal from off his foot, and spit in his face. She shall answer and say, “So shall it be done to the man who does not build up his brother’s house.” 10 His name shall be called in Israel, “The house of him who had his sandal removed.”

11 When men strive against each other, and the wife of one draws near to deliver her husband out of the hand of him who strikes him, and puts out her hand, and grabs him by his private parts, 12 then you shall cut off her hand. Your eye shall have no pity.

13 You shall not have in your bag diverse weights, one heavy and one light. 14 You shall not have in your house diverse measures, one large and one small. 15 You shall have a perfect and just weight. You shall have a perfect and just measure, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you. 16 For all who do such things, all who do unrighteously, are an abomination to Yahweh your God.

17 Remember what Amalek did to you by the way as you came out of Egypt, 18 how he met you by the way, and struck the rearmost of you, all who were feeble behind you, when you were faint and weary; and he didn’t fear God. 19 Therefore it shall be, when Yahweh your God has given you rest from all your enemies all around, in the land which Yahweh your God gives you for an inheritance to possess it, that you shall blot out the memory of Amalek from under the sky. You shall not forget.

Psalm 116

116 I love Yahweh, because he listens to my voice,
    and my cries for mercy.
Because he has turned his ear to me,
    therefore I will call on him as long as I live.
The cords of death surrounded me,
    the pains of Sheol[a] got a hold of me.
    I found trouble and sorrow.
Then I called on Yahweh’s name:
    “Yahweh, I beg you, deliver my soul.”
Yahweh is gracious and righteous.
    Yes, our God is merciful.
Yahweh preserves the simple.
    I was brought low, and he saved me.
Return to your rest, my soul,
    for Yahweh has dealt bountifully with you.
For you have delivered my soul from death,
    my eyes from tears,
    and my feet from falling.
I will walk before Yahweh in the land of the living.
10 I believed, therefore I said,
    “I was greatly afflicted.”
11 I said in my haste,
    “All people are liars.”
12 What will I give to Yahweh for all his benefits toward me?
13     I will take the cup of salvation, and call on Yahweh’s name.
14 I will pay my vows to Yahweh,
    yes, in the presence of all his people.
15 Precious in Yahweh’s sight is the death of his saints.
16 Yahweh, truly I am your servant.
    I am your servant, the son of your servant girl.
    You have freed me from my chains.
17 I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving,
    and will call on Yahweh’s name.
18 I will pay my vows to Yahweh,
    yes, in the presence of all his people,
19 in the courts of Yahweh’s house,
    in the middle of you, Jerusalem.
Praise Yah!

Isaiah 52

52 Awake, awake! Put on your strength, Zion.
    Put on your beautiful garments, Jerusalem, the holy city,
    for from now on the uncircumcised and the unclean will no more come into you.
Shake yourself from the dust!
    Arise, sit up, Jerusalem!
    Release yourself from the bonds of your neck, captive daughter of Zion!

For Yahweh says, “You were sold for nothing;
    and you will be redeemed without money.”

For the Lord Yahweh says:

“My people went down at the first into Egypt to live there;
    and the Assyrian has oppressed them without cause.

“Now therefore, what do I do here,” says Yahweh,
    “seeing that my people are taken away for nothing?
Those who rule over them mock,” says Yahweh,
    “and my name is blasphemed continually all day long.
Therefore my people shall know my name.
    Therefore they shall know in that day that I am he who speaks.
    Behold, it is I.”

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news,
    who publishes peace,
    who brings good news,
    who proclaims salvation,
    who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
Your watchmen lift up their voice.
    Together they sing;
    for they shall see eye to eye when Yahweh returns to Zion.
Break out into joy!
    Sing together, you waste places of Jerusalem;
    for Yahweh has comforted his people.
    He has redeemed Jerusalem.
10 Yahweh has made his holy arm bare in the eyes of all the nations.
    All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

11 Depart! Depart! Go out from there! Touch no unclean thing!
    Go out from among her!
    Cleanse yourselves, you who carry Yahweh’s vessels.
12 For you shall not go out in haste,
    neither shall you go by flight;
for Yahweh will go before you,
    and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

13 Behold, my servant will deal wisely.
    He will be exalted and lifted up,
    and will be very high.
14 Just as many were astonished at you—
    his appearance was marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men—
15 so he will cleanse[a] many nations.
    Kings will shut their mouths at him;
    for they will see that which had not been told them,
    and they will understand that which they had not heard.

Revelation 22

22 He showed me a[a] river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb, in the middle of its street. On this side of the river and on that was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruits, yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. There will be no curse any more. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. There will be no night, and they need no lamp light or sun light; for the Lord God will illuminate them. They will reign forever and ever.

He said to me, “These words are faithful and true. The Lord God of the spirits of the prophets sent his angel to show to his bondservants the things which must happen soon.”

“Behold, I am coming soon! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”

Now I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. When I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who had shown me these things. He said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow bondservant with you and with your brothers, the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.” 10 He said to me, “Don’t seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand. 11 He who acts unjustly, let him act unjustly still. He who is filthy, let him be filthy still. He who is righteous, let him do righteousness still. He who is holy, let him be holy still.”

12 “Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, to repay to each man according to his work. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. 14 Blessed are those who do his commandments,[b] that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city. 15 Outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. 16 I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify these things to you for the assemblies. I am the root and the offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”

17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” He who hears, let him say, “Come!” He who is thirsty, let him come. He who desires, let him take the water of life freely.

18 I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book. 19 If anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree[c] of life, and out of the holy city, which are written in this book. 20 He who testifies these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.”

Amen! Yes, come, Lord Jesus!

21 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with all the saints. Amen.
