M’Cheyne Bible Reading Plan
Israel Takes Possession of the Land
3 “(A)Then we turned and went up the road to Bashan, and Og king of Bashan, [a]with all his people, came out to meet us in battle at Edrei. 2 But Yahweh said to me, ‘Do not fear him, for I have given him and all his people and his land over into your hand; and you shall do to him just as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon.’ 3 So Yahweh our God also gave Og, king of Bashan, with all his people over into our hand, and we struck [b]them until [c]there was no survivor remaining for him. 4 And we captured all his cities at that time; there was not a town which we did not take from them: sixty cities, all the region of (B)Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan. 5 All these were cities fortified with high walls, gates and bars, besides a great many [d]unwalled towns. 6 And we [e]devoted them to destruction, as we did to (C)Sihon king of Heshbon, [f](D)devoting to destruction [g]the men, women, and little ones of every city. 7 (E)But all the animals and the spoil of the cities we took as our plunder.
8 “(F)Thus we took the land at that time from the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, from the [h]valley of Arnon to Mount Hermon 9 (Sidonians (G)call Hermon (H)Sirion, and the Amorites call it (I)Senir): 10 all the cities of the plateau and all Gilead and (J)all Bashan, as far as Salecah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan. 11 (For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of the (K)Rephaim. Behold, his [i]bedstead was an iron [j]bedstead; it is in (L)Rabbah of the sons of Ammon. Its length was [k]nine cubits, and its width four cubits [l]by ordinary cubit.)
12 “So we took possession of this land at that time. From (M)Aroer, which is by the [m]valley of Arnon, and half the hill country of (N)Gilead and its cities I gave to the Reubenites and to the Gadites. 13 And the rest of Gilead and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I gave to the half-tribe of Manasseh, all the region of Argob. (Concerning all Bashan, it is called the land of Rephaim. 14 (O)Jair the son of Manasseh took all the region of Argob as far as the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites and called [n]it—that is, Bashan—after his own name, [o]Havvoth-jair, as it is to this day.) 15 (P)And to Machir I gave Gilead. 16 And to the Reubenites and to the Gadites I gave from Gilead even as far as the [p]valley of Arnon, the middle of the [q]valley [r]as a border and as far as the [s]river (Q)Jabbok, the border of the sons of Ammon; 17 the Arabah also, with the Jordan [t]as a border, from [u](R)Chinnereth (S)even as far as the sea of the Arabah, (T)the Salt Sea, [v]at the foot of the slopes of Pisgah on the east.
18 “Then I commanded you at that time, saying, ‘(U)Yahweh your God has given you this land to possess it; (V)all you men of valor shall cross over armed before your brothers, the sons of Israel. 19 (W)But your wives and your little ones and your livestock (I know that you have (X)much livestock) shall remain in your cities which I have given you, 20 (Y)until Yahweh gives rest to your brothers as to you, and they also possess the land which Yahweh your God will give them beyond the Jordan. (Z)Then you may return, every man to his possession which I have given you.’ 21 And I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, ‘Your eyes have seen all that Yahweh your God has done to these two kings; so Yahweh shall do to all the kingdoms into which you are about to cross. 22 Do not fear them, for Yahweh your God (AA)is the one fighting for you.’
Moses Pleads to Cross the Jordan
23 “I also pleaded with Yahweh at that time, saying, 24 ‘O Lord Yahweh, You have begun to show Your slave (AB)Your greatness and Your strong hand; for what (AC)god is there in heaven or on earth who can do such works and mighty acts as Yours? 25 Let me, I pray, cross over and see the (AD)good land that is beyond the Jordan, [w]that good hill country and Lebanon.’ 26 But (AE)Yahweh was angry with me on your account and would not listen to me; and Yahweh said to me, ‘[x]Enough! Speak to Me no more of this matter. 27 Go up to the top of (AF)Pisgah and lift up your eyes to the west and north and south and east, and see it with your eyes, (AG)for you shall not cross over this Jordan. 28 (AH)But command Joshua and strengthen him and encourage him, (AI)for he shall go across [y]at the head of this people, and he will cause them to inherit the land which you will see.’ 29 So we remained in the valley opposite (AJ)Beth-peor.
Turn Us Back, O God
For the choir director. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm.
85 O Yahweh, You showed (A)favor to Your land;
You [a](B)returned the fortunes of Jacob.
2 You (C)forgave the iniquity of Your people;
You (D)covered all their sin. [b]Selah.
3 You (E)withdrew all Your fury;
You (F)turned back from Your burning anger.
4 (G)Turn us back, O God of our salvation,
And (H)cause Your vexation toward us to cease.
5 Will (I)You be angry with us forever?
Will You prolong Your anger from generation to generation?
6 Will You not Yourself (J)return to [c]revive us,
That Your people may (K)be glad in You?
7 Show us, O Yahweh, Your lovingkindness,
And (L)give us Your salvation.
8 Let me hear what the God, Yahweh, will speak;
For He will (M)speak peace to His people, [d]to His holy ones;
But let them not (N)turn back to [e]folly.
9 Surely (O)His salvation is near to those who [f]fear Him,
That (P)glory may dwell in our land.
10 (Q)Lovingkindness and [g]truth have met together;
(R)Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
11 [h]Truth (S)springs up from the earth,
And righteousness looks down from heaven.
12 Indeed, (T)Yahweh will give what is good,
And our (U)land will yield its produce.
13 (V)Righteousness will go before Him
And will establish the way of His steps.
Woe to Those Who Go down to Egypt
31 Woe to those who go down to (A)Egypt for help
And (B)rely on horses,
And trust in chariots because they are many
And in horsemen because they are very mighty,
But they do not have (C)regard for the (D)Holy One of Israel, nor seek Yahweh!
2 Yet He also is (E)wise and will (F)bring about an evil demise
And does (G)not turn His words aside,
But will arise against the house of (H)evildoers
And against the help of the (I)workers of iniquity.
3 Now the Egyptians are (J)men and not God,
And their (K)horses are flesh and not spirit;
So Yahweh will (L)stretch out His hand,
And (M)he who helps will stumble,
And he who is helped will fall,
And all of them will come to an end together.
4 For thus says Yahweh to me,
“As the (N)lion or the young lion growls over its prey,
Against which a multitude of shepherds is called out,
And it will not be dismayed at their voice nor afflicted at their noise,
So will Yahweh of hosts come down to wage (O)war on Mount Zion and on its hill.”
5 Like [a]flying (P)birds so Yahweh of hosts will defend Jerusalem.
He will (Q)defend and deliver it;
He will pass over and provide a way of escape.
6 (R)Return to Him against whom [b]you have (S)deeply rebelled, O sons of Israel. 7 For in that day every man will (T)reject his silver idols and his gold idols, which your (U)hands have made for you as (V)a sin.
8 And the (W)Assyrian will fall by a sword not of man,
And a (X)sword not of man will devour him.
So he will [c](Y)flee from the sword,
And his choice men will become (Z)forced laborers.
9 “His (AA)rock will pass away because of terror,
And his princes will be dismayed at the (AB)standard,”
Declares Yahweh, whose (AC)fire is in Zion and whose furnace is in Jerusalem.
The Revelation of Jesus Christ
1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which (A)God gave Him to (B)show to His slaves (C)the things which must soon happen; and He indicated this (D)by sending it through His angel to His slave [a](E)John, 2 who bore witness to (F)the word of God and to (G)the witness of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw. 3 (H)Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy and keep the things which are written in it, (I)for the time is near.
Message to the Seven Churches
4 (J)John to (K)the seven churches that are in (L)Asia: (M)Grace to you and peace, from (N)the One who is and who was and who [b]is to come, and from (O)the seven Spirits who are before His throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, (P)the faithful witness, the (Q)firstborn of the dead, and the (R)ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who (S)loves us and released us from our sins [c]by His blood— 6 and He has made us to be a (T)kingdom, (U)priests to [d](V)His God and Father—(W)to Him be the glory and the might forever and ever. Amen. 7 (X)Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and (Y)every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will (Z)mourn over Him. Yes, amen.
8 “I am (AA)the Alpha and the Omega,” says the [e](AB)Lord God, “(AC)who is and who was and who [f]is to come, the Almighty.”
The Vision of the Son of Man
9 (AD)I, John, your (AE)brother and (AF)fellow partaker in the tribulation and (AG)kingdom and [g](AH)perseverance which are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos (AI)because of the word of God and the witness of Jesus. 10 I was [h](AJ)in the Spirit on (AK)the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice (AL)like a trumpet, 11 saying, “(AM)Write in a scroll what you see, and send it to the (AN)seven churches: to (AO)Ephesus and to (AP)Smyrna and to (AQ)Pergamum and to (AR)Thyatira and to (AS)Sardis and to (AT)Philadelphia and to (AU)Laodicea.”
12 Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. And having turned I saw (AV)seven golden lampstands; 13 and (AW)in the middle of the lampstands I saw one (AX)like [i]a son of man, (AY)clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and (AZ)girded across His chest with a golden sash. 14 And His head and His (BA)hair were white like white wool, like snow; and (BB)His eyes were like a flame of fire. 15 His (BC)feet were like burnished bronze, when it has been made to glow in a furnace, and His (BD)voice was like the sound of many waters, 16 and having in His right hand (BE)seven stars, and a (BF)sharp two-edged sword which comes out of His mouth, and His (BG)face was like (BH)the sun [j]shining in its power.
17 And when I saw Him, I (BI)fell at His feet like a dead man. And He (BJ)placed His right hand on me, saying, “(BK)Do not fear; (BL)I am the first and the last, 18 and the (BM)living One; and I [k](BN)was dead, and behold, I am alive forever and ever, and I have (BO)the keys of death and of Hades. 19 Therefore (BP)write (BQ)the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place (BR)after these things. 20 As for the (BS)mystery of the (BT)seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the (BU)seven golden lampstands: the (BV)seven stars are the angels of (BW)the seven churches, and the seven (BX)lampstands are the seven churches.
