2 Chronicles 16

16 In the thirty-sixth year of the reign of Asa, Baasha, king of Israel, came up against Judah and built Ramah, to keep anyone from passing through to or out from Asa, king of Judah.

Then, Asa brought out silver and gold from the treasures of the House of the LORD, and from the king’s house, and sent to Ben-Hadad, king of Aram, who dwelt at Damascus, saying,

“There is a covenant between me and you, and between my father and your father. Behold, I have sent you silver and gold. Come. Break your treaty with Baasha, king of Israel, so that he may depart from me.”

And Ben-Hadad listened to King Asa and sent the captains of the army which he had against the cities of Israel. And they struck Ijon and Dan and Abel Maim and all the storage cities of Naphtali.

And when Baasha heard it, he stopped the building of Ramah, and let his work cease.

Then, Asa the king took all Judah and carried away the stones of Ramah and its timber (with which Baasha built) and he built Geba and Mizpah with it.

And at that same time, Hanani the Seer came to Asa, king of Judah, and said to him, “Because you have rested upon the king of Aram and not rested in the LORD your God, therefore the army of the king of Aram has escaped out of your hand.

“The Ethiopians and the Lubim, were they not a great army with a large number of chariots and horsemen? Yet, because you rested upon the LORD, He delivered them into your hand.

“For the Eyes of the LORD behold all the Earth, to show Himself strong with those who are of a perfect heart toward Him. You, then, have done foolishly in this. Therefore, henceforth you shall have wars.”

10 Then Asa was angry with the Seer and put him into a prison, for he was displeased with him because of this thing. And Asa oppressed the people at that time.

11 And behold, the acts of Asa, first and last, lo, they are written in the Book of the Kings of Judah and Israel.

12 And Asa, in the thirty-ninth year of his reign, became diseased in his feet. His disease was extreme, yet he did not seek the LORD in his disease, but the physicians.

13 So, Asa slept with his fathers and died in the forty-first year of his reign.

14 And they buried him in one of his sepulchers which he had made for himself in the City of David and laid him in the bed which they had filled with sweet odors and diverse kinds of spices made by the art of the apothecary. And they burnt odors for him with an exceedingly great fire.

Revelation 5

And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat upon the throne, a Book; written within and sealed on the backside with seven seals.

And I saw a strong angel who preached with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the Book and to loosen the seals thereof?”

And no one in Heaven or on Earth, or under the Earth, was able to open the Book or to look at it.

Then I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the Book or to look at it.

And one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion Which is of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered and can open the Book and loosen the seven seals thereof.”

Then I beheld. And lo, in the midst of the throne - and of the four beasts - and in the midst of the elders stood a Lamb, as though He had been killed; Which had seven horns and seven eyes (which are the seven spirits of God, sent into all the world).

And He came and took the Book out of the right hand of Him who sat upon the throne.

And when He had taken the Book, the four beasts and the 24 elders fell down before the Lamb, everyone having harps and golden vials full of odors (which are the prayers of the saints).

And they sang a new song, saying, “You are worthy to take the Book and to open the seals thereof! Because You were killed and have redeemed us to God by Your blood, out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,

10 and have made us kings and priests to our God! And we shall reign on the Earth!”

11 Then I beheld. And I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and around the beasts and the elders. And there were ten thousand times ten thousand, and a thousand thousands,

12 saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb Who was killed to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!”

13 And all the creatures which are in Heaven and on the Earth and under the Earth and in the sea, and all that are in them, heard me saying, “Praise and honor and glory and power be to Him Who sits upon the throne! And to the Lamb! Forevermore!”

14 And the four beasts said, “Amen!” And the 24 elders fell down and worshipped Him Who lives forevermore.

Zechariah 1

In the eighth month of the second year of Darius, the Word of the LORD came to Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the Prophet, saying,

“The LORD has been very displeased with your fathers.

“Therefore, say to them, ‘Thus says the LORD of Hosts: “Turn to Me,” says the LORD of Hosts, “and I will turn to you,” says the LORD of Hosts.

“Do not be as your fathers, to whom the former Prophets have cried, saying, ‘Thus says the LORD of Hosts: “Turn now from your evil ways and from your wicked works!”’ But they would not hear or listen to Me,” says the LORD.

“Your fathers. Where are they? And do the Prophets live forever?

“But did not My Words and My Statutes which I Commanded by My servants the Prophets take hold of your fathers? And they returned, and said, ‘As the LORD of Hosts has determined to do to us according to our own ways, and according to our works, so has He dealt with us.’”’”

Upon the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Shebat, in the second year of Darius, the Word of the LORD came to Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the Prophet, saying,

I saw by night and beheld a man riding upon a red horse. And he stood among the myrtle trees that were in a hollow. And there were red horses behind him, speckled and white.

Then I said, “O my lord, what are these?” And the Angel that talked with me, said to me, “I will show you what these are.”

10 And the man who stood among the myrtle trees, answered and said, “These are those whom the LORD has sent to go through the world.”

11 And they answered the Angel of the LORD that stood among the myrtle trees, and said, “We have gone through the world. And behold, all the world sits still and is at rest.”

12 Then the Angel of the LORD answered and said, “O LORD of Hosts! How long will You be unmerciful to Jerusalem and to the cities of Judah with whom You have been displeased now these seventy years?”

13 And the LORD answered the Angel that talked with me with good Words and comfortable Words.

14 So, the Angel that communed with me said to me, “Cry out and speak, ‘Thus says the LORD of Hosts: “I am jealous over Jerusalem and Zion with a great zeal!

15 “And I am greatly angry against the careless heathen. For I was only angry a little, and they helped increase the affliction.”

16 ‘Therefore thus says the LORD: “I will return to Jerusalem with tender mercy. My House shall be built in it,” says the LORD of Hosts, “and a line shall be stretched upon Jerusalem.”’

17 “Cry, still, and speak, ‘Thus says the LORD of Hosts: “My cities shall still be comforted with plenty. The LORD shall still comfort Zion and shall still choose Jerusalem!”’”

18 Then I lifted up my eyes and saw. And behold, four horns.

19 And I said to the Angel that talked with me, “What are these?” And he answered me, “These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.”

20 And the LORD showed me four carpenters.

21 Then I said, “What are these coming to do?” And he answered, and said, “These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that a man dares not lift up his head. But these have come to terrify them, and to cast out the horns of the Gentiles which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.”

John 4

Now, when the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,

(though Jesus Himself did not baptize, but His disciples),

He left Judea and departed again into Galilee.

And it was necessary for Him to go through Samaria.

Then He came to a city of Samaria called Sychar, near the place that Jacob gave to his son, Joseph.

And Jacob’s Well was there. Jesus then, wearied by the journey, sat upon the Well. It was about the sixth hour.

There came a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me drink.”

For His disciples had gone into the city to buy food.

Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that you, being a Jew, ask me for drink, who is a woman of Samaria? For the Jews do not associate with the Samaritans.”

10 Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and Who it is Who says to you, ‘Give me drink’, you would have asked of Him, and He would have given you water of life.”

11 The woman said to Him, “Sir, you have nothing to draw with, and the Well is deep. From where then have You the water of life?

12 Are You greater than our father, Jacob, who gave us the Well; and he himself drank thereof, and his sons, and his cattle?”

13 Jesus answered, and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water, shall thirst again.

14 “But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him, shall never thirst. But the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water, springing up into everlasting life.”

15 The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me of that water, that I may never thirst, nor come here to draw again.”

16 Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come back.”

17 The woman answered, and said, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You have well said, ‘I have no husband.’

18 For you have had five husbands, and he whom you now have is not your husband. That you said truly.”

19 The woman said to Him, “Sir, I see that You are a Prophet.

20 “Our fathers worshiped on this mountain. And You say that Jerusalem is the place wherein it is necessary to worship.”

21 Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe me. The hour comes when you shall neither on this mountain, nor at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

22 “You worship that which you do not know. We worship that which we know. For salvation is from the Jews.

23 “But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in Spirit and Truth. For the Father requires even such to worship Him.

24 “God is a Spirit. And those who worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and Truth.”

25 The woman said to Him, “I know well that Messiah shall come, Who is called Christ. When He has come, He will tell us all things.”

26 Jesus said to her, “I am He, Who speaks to you.”

27 And upon this came His disciples, and marveled that He talked with a woman. Yet no one said to Him, “What do You seek?” or “Why are You talking with her?”

28 The woman then left her water pot, and went her way into the city, and said to the men,

29 “Come! See a Man who has told me all things that ever I did! Can this be the Christ?”

30 Then they went out of the city and came to Him.

31 Meanwhile, the disciples urged Him, saying, “Master, eat.”

32 But He said to them, “I have food to eat that you know not of.”

33 Then the disciples said between themselves, “Has anyone brought Him anything to eat?”

34 Jesus said to them, “My food is that I may do the will of Him who sent Me and finish His work.

35 “Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, and then comes harvest?’ Behold, I say to you lift up your eyes and look at the fields. For they are white toward harvest already.

36 “And the one who reaps, receives reward, and gathers fruit to life eternal; that both the one who sows and the one who reaps might rejoice together.

37 “For herein is the true saying: that one sows and another reaps.

38 “I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored. Other men labored, and you have entered into their labors.”

39 Now many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the saying of the woman who testified, “He has told me all things that ever I did.”

40 Then, when the Samaritans came to Him, they urged Him to stay with them. And He stayed there two days.

41 And many more believed because of His word.

42 And they said to the woman, “Now we believe; not because of your saying, but because we have heard Him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”

43 So, two days later He departed from there and went into Galilee.

44 For Jesus Himself had testified that a Prophet has no honor in his own country.

45 Then when He had come into Galilee, the Galileans who had seen all the things He did at Jerusalem, at the feast, received Him. For they also went to the feast.

46 And Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where He had made wine from water. And there was a certain ruler, whose son was sick at Capernaum.

47 When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him, and urged Him to go down and heal his son. For he was about to die.

48 Then Jesus said to him, “Unless you see signs and wonders, you will not believe.”

49 The ruler said to Him, “Sir, go down before my son dies.”

50 Jesus said to him, “Go your way. Your son lives.” And the man believed the Word that Jesus had spoken to him and went his way.

51 And as he was now going down, his servants met him, saying, “Your son lives!”

52 Then he inquired of them the hour when he began to feel better. And they said to him, “Yesterday, the seventh hour, the fever left him.”

53 Then the father knew that it was the same hour in which Jesus had said to him, “Your son lives.” And he believed, and all his household.

54 This, again, is the second miracle Jesus did after He had come out of Judea into Galilee.
