13 受到诱惑的人不该说∶“上帝在试探我。”因为上帝与邪恶无关，他也不试探任何人。 14 受到诱惑，是受到自己的邪恶欲望牵制和怂恿。 15 欲望受到孕育，便会生成罪恶，罪恶一旦成熟，便会生出死亡。
16 我亲爱的兄弟们，不要上当受骗。 17 一切美好和各种完美的恩赐都来自天上。这些美好的恩赐来自一切光明（日、月、星）之父。上帝永不改变，始终如一。 18 他决定通过真理之言赐予我们生命，要我们在他所创造的万物中，居最重要的位置。
