Daily Reading for Personal Growth, 40 Days with God
6 But (A)He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, “(B)God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” 7 (C)Submit therefore to God. (D)Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 (E)Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. (F)Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and (G)purify your hearts, you (H)double-minded. 9 (I)Be miserable and mourn and weep; let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 (J)Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.
11 (K)Do not speak against one another, (L)brethren. He who speaks against a brother or (M)judges his brother, speaks against (N)the law and judges the law; but if you judge the law, you are not (O)a doer of the law but a judge of it. 12 There is only one (P)Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is (Q)able to save and to destroy; but (R)who are you who judge your neighbor?
