⁶ But ^(A)He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, “^(B)God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” ^7 (C)Submit therefore to God. ^(D)Resist the devil and he will flee from you. ^8 (E)Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. ^(F)Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and ^(G)purify your hearts, you ^(H)double-minded. ^9 (I)Be miserable and mourn and weep; let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy to gloom. ^10 (J)Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.

^11 (K)Do not speak against one another, ^(L)brethren. He who speaks against a brother or ^(M)judges his brother, speaks against ^(N)the law and judges the law; but if you judge the law, you are not ^(O)a doer of the law but a judge of it. ¹² There is only one ^(P)Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is ^(Q)able to save and to destroy; but ^(R)who are you who judge your neighbor?
