    teach me your paths.
⁵ Lead me in your ^(I)truth and teach me,
    for you are the God of my salvation;
    for you I wait all the day long.

⁶ Remember your ^(J)mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love,
    ^(K)for they have been from of old.
⁷ Remember not ^(L)the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
    according to your ^(M)steadfast love remember me,
    for the sake of your goodness, O Lord!

^8 (N)Good and upright is the Lord;
    therefore he ^(O)instructs sinners in the way.
⁹ He leads the humble in what is right,
    and teaches the humble his way.
¹⁰ All the paths of the Lord are ^(P)steadfast love and faithfulness,
    for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.

¹¹ For your ^(Q)name's sake, O Lord,
    pardon my guilt, for it is ^(R)great.
¹² Who is the man who fears the Lord?
    Him ^(S)will he instruct in the way that he should choose.
¹³ His soul shall ^(T)abide in well-being,
    and his ^(U)offspring ^(V)shall inherit the land.
^14 (W)The friendship^[b] of the Lord is for those who fear him,
    and he makes known to them his covenant.
¹⁵ My ^(X)eyes are ever toward the Lord,
    for he will ^(Y)pluck my feet out of the net.

^16 (Z)Turn to me and be gracious to me,
    for I am lonely and afflicted.
¹⁷ The troubles of my heart are enlarged;
    bring me out of my distresses.
^18 (AA)Consider my affliction and my trouble,
    and forgive all my sins.

¹⁹ Consider how many are my foes,
    and with what violent hatred they hate me.
²⁰ Oh, guard my soul, and deliver me!
    ^(AB)Let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.
²¹ May integrity and uprightness preserve me,
    for I wait for you.

^22 (AC)Redeem Israel, O God,
    out of all his troubles.

    nor do I consort with hypocrites.
⁵ I ^(AN)hate the assembly of evildoers,
    and I will not sit with the wicked.

⁶ I ^(AO)wash my hands in innocence
    and go around your altar, O Lord,
⁷ proclaiming thanksgiving aloud,
    and telling all your ^(AP)wondrous deeds.

⁸ O Lord, I ^(AQ)love the habitation of your house
    and the place where your glory dwells.
^9 (AR)Do not sweep my soul away with sinners,
    nor my life with bloodthirsty men,
¹⁰ in whose hands are evil devices,
    and whose right hands are full of ^(AS)bribes.

¹¹ But as for me, I shall walk in my integrity;
    redeem me, and be gracious to me.
¹² My foot stands on ^(AT)level ground;
    in ^(AU)the great assembly I will bless the Lord.

² When evildoers assail me
    to ^(AY)eat up my flesh,
my adversaries and foes,
    it is they who stumble and fall.

^3 (AZ)Though an army encamp against me,
    my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
    yet^[e] I will be confident.

^4 (BA)One thing have I asked of the Lord,
    that will I seek after:
that I may ^(BB)dwell in the house of the Lord
    all the days of my life,
to gaze upon ^(BC)the beauty of the Lord
    and to inquire^[f] in his temple.

⁵ For he will ^(BD)hide me in his shelter
    in the day of trouble;
he will conceal me under the cover of his tent;
    he will ^(BE)lift me high upon a rock.

⁶ And now my ^(BF)head shall be lifted up
    above my enemies all around me,
and I will offer in his tent
    sacrifices with shouts of ^(BG)joy;
^(BH)I will sing and make melody to the Lord.

^7 (BI)Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud;
    be gracious to me and answer me!
⁸ You have said, ^(BJ)“Seek^[g] my face.”
My heart says to you,
    “Your face, Lord, do I seek.”^{[h]
9     (BK)}Hide not your face from me.
Turn not your servant away in anger,
    O you who have been my help.
Cast me not off; forsake me not,
    ^(BL)O God of my salvation!
¹⁰ For ^(BM)my father and my mother have forsaken me,
    but the Lord will ^(BN)take me in.

^11 (BO)Teach me your way, O Lord,
    and lead me on ^(BP)a level path
    because of my enemies.
^12 (BQ)Give me not up to the will of my adversaries;
    for ^(BR)false witnesses have risen against me,
    and they ^(BS)breathe out violence.

¹³ I believe that I shall look^[i] upon ^(BT)the goodness of the Lord
    in ^(BU)the land of the living!
^14 (BV)Wait for the Lord;
    ^(BW)be strong, and let your heart take courage;
    wait for the Lord!

³ Do not ^(CD)drag me off with the wicked,
    with the workers of evil,
^(CE)who speak peace with their neighbors
    while evil is in their hearts.
^4 (CF)Give to them according to their work
    and according to the evil of their deeds;
give to them according to the work of their hands;
    ^(CG)render them their due reward.
⁵ Because they ^(CH)do not regard the works of the Lord
    or the work of his hands,
he will tear them down and build them up no more.

⁶ Blessed be the Lord!
    For he has ^(CI)heard the voice of my pleas for mercy.
⁷ The Lord is my strength and ^(CJ)my shield;
    in him my heart ^(CK)trusts, and I am helped;
my heart exults,
    and with my ^(CL)song I give thanks to him.

⁸ The Lord is the strength of his people;^[k]
    he is ^(CM)the saving refuge of his anointed.
⁹ Oh, save your people and bless ^(CN)your heritage!
    ^(CO)Be their shepherd and ^(CP)carry them forever.

³ The voice of the Lord is over ^(CS)the waters;
    the God of glory ^(CT)thunders,
    the Lord, over many waters.
⁴ The voice of the Lord is ^(CU)powerful;
    the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.

⁵ The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
    the Lord breaks ^(CV)the cedars of Lebanon.
⁶ He makes Lebanon to ^(CW)skip like a calf,
    and ^(CX)Sirion like a young ^(CY)wild ox.

⁷ The voice of the Lord flashes forth flames of fire.
⁸ The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness;
    the Lord shakes the wilderness of ^(CZ)Kadesh.

⁹ The voice of the Lord makes ^(DA)the deer give birth^[n]
    and strips the forests bare,
    and in his temple all cry, “Glory!”

¹⁰ The Lord sits enthroned over ^(DB)the flood;
    the Lord sits enthroned ^(DC)as king forever.
¹¹ May the Lord give ^(DD)strength to his people!
    May the Lord bless^[o] his people with ^(DE)peace!

⁴ Sing praises to the Lord, O you ^(DM)his saints,
    and ^(DN)give thanks to his holy name.^[q]
5 (DO)For his anger is but for a moment,
    and ^(DP)his favor is for a lifetime.^[r]
(DQ)Weeping may tarry for the night,
    but ^(DR)joy comes with the morning.

⁶ As for me, I said in my ^(DS)prosperity,
    “I shall never be ^(DT)moved.”
⁷ By your favor, O Lord,
    you made my ^(DU)mountain stand strong;
you ^(DV)hid your face;
    I was ^(DW)dismayed.

⁸ To you, O Lord, I cry,
    and ^(DX)to the Lord I plead for mercy:
⁹ “What profit is there in my death,^[s]
    if I go down to the pit?^[t]
Will ^(DY)the dust praise you?
    Will it tell of your faithfulness?
^10 (DZ)Hear, O Lord, and be merciful to me!
    O Lord, be my helper!”

¹¹ You have turned for me my mourning into ^(EA)dancing;
    you have loosed my sackcloth
    and clothed me with gladness,
¹² that my ^(EB)glory may sing your praise and not be silent.
    O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!

³ For you are my rock and my fortress;
    and for your ^(EI)name's sake you lead me and guide me;
⁴ you ^(EJ)take me out of ^(EK)the net they have hidden for me,
    for you are my ^(EL)refuge.
^5 (EM)Into your hand I commit my spirit;

    but I trust in the Lord.
⁷ I will rejoice and be glad in your steadfast love,
    because you have seen my affliction;

⁸ and you have not ^(ES)delivered me into the hand of the enemy;
    you have set my feet in ^(ET)a broad place.

⁹ Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am ^(EU)in distress;
    ^(EV)my eye is wasted from grief;
    my soul and my body also.
¹⁰ For my life is spent with sorrow,
    and my years with sighing;
my strength fails because of my iniquity,
    and ^(EW)my bones waste away.

¹¹ Because of all my adversaries I have become ^(EX)a reproach,
    especially to my ^(EY)neighbors,
and an object of dread to my acquaintances;
    those who see me in the street ^(EZ)flee from me.
¹² I have been ^(FA)forgotten like one who is dead;
    I have become like ^(FB)a broken vessel.
¹³ For I ^(FC)hear the whispering of many—
    terror on every side!—
^(FD)as they scheme together against me,
    as they plot to take my life.

¹⁴ But I ^(FE)trust in you, O Lord;
    I say, “You are my God.”
¹⁵ My ^(FF)times are in your hand;
    ^(FG)rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors!
^16 (FH)Make your face shine on your servant;
    save me in your steadfast love!
¹⁷ O Lord, ^(FI)let me not be put to shame,
    for I call upon you;
let the wicked be put to shame;
    let them go ^(FJ)silently to Sheol.
¹⁸ Let the lying lips be mute,
    which ^(FK)speak ^(FL)insolently against the righteous
    in pride and contempt.

¹⁹ Oh, how abundant is your goodness,
    which you have stored up for those who fear you
and worked for those who take refuge in you,
    ^(FM)in the sight of the children of mankind!
²⁰ In ^(FN)the cover of your presence you hide them
    from the plots of men;
you ^(FO)store them in your shelter
    from the strife of tongues.

²¹ Blessed be the Lord,
    for he has wondrously ^(FP)shown his steadfast love to me
    when I was in ^(FQ)a besieged city.
²² I had said in my ^(FR)alarm,^[v]
    “I am ^(FS)cut off from ^(FT)your sight.”
But you heard the voice of my pleas for mercy
    when I cried to you for help.

²³ Love the Lord, all you his ^(FU)saints!
    The Lord preserves the faithful
    but abundantly ^(FV)repays the one who acts in pride.
^24 (FW)Be strong, and let your heart take courage,
    all you who wait for the Lord!

³ For when I kept silent, my ^(GB)bones wasted away
    through my ^(GC)groaning all day long.
⁴ For day and night your ^(GD)hand was heavy upon me;
    my strength was dried up^[x] as by the heat of summer. Selah

⁵ I ^(GE)acknowledged my sin to you,
    and I did not cover my iniquity;
I said, “I ^(GF)will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”
    and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah

⁶ Therefore let everyone who is ^(GG)godly
    offer prayer to you at a time when you ^(GH)may be found;
surely in the rush of ^(GI)great waters,
    they shall not reach him.
⁷ You are a ^(GJ)hiding place for me;
    you preserve me from ^(GK)trouble;
    you surround me with ^(GL)shouts of deliverance. Selah

⁸ I will ^(GM)instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
    I will ^(GN)counsel you with my eye upon you.
^9 (GO)Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding,
    which must be curbed with ^(GP)bit and bridle,
    or it will not stay near you.

^10 (GQ)Many are the sorrows of the wicked,
    but steadfast love surrounds the one who ^(GR)trusts in the Lord.
^11 (GS)Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous,
    and ^(GT)shout for joy, all you ^(GU)upright in heart!

⁴ For the word of the Lord is upright,
    and all his work is done in ^(HB)faithfulness.
⁵ He ^(HC)loves righteousness and justice;
    ^(HD)the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.

⁶ By ^(HE)the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
    and by ^(HF)the breath of his mouth all ^(HG)their host.
⁷ He gathers the waters of the sea as ^(HH)a heap;
    he ^(HI)puts the deeps in storehouses.

⁸ Let all the earth fear the Lord;
    let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!
⁹ For ^(HJ)he spoke, and it came to be;
    he commanded, and it stood firm.

¹⁰ The Lord ^(HK)brings the counsel of the nations to nothing;
    he frustrates the plans of the peoples.
^11 (HL)The counsel of the Lord stands forever,
    the plans of his heart to all generations.
^12 (HM)Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
    the people whom he has ^(HN)chosen as his heritage!

¹³ The Lord ^(HO)looks down from heaven;
    he sees all the children of man;
¹⁴ from ^(HP)where he sits enthroned he ^(HQ)looks out
    on all the inhabitants of the earth,
¹⁵ he who fashions the hearts of them all
    and observes all their deeds.
^16 (HR)The king is not saved by his great army;
    a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.
^17 (HS)The war horse is a false hope for salvation,
    and by its great might it cannot rescue.

¹⁸ Behold, ^(HT)the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,
    ^(HU)on those who hope in his steadfast love,
¹⁹ that he may ^(HV)deliver their soul from death
    and keep them alive in ^(HW)famine.

²⁰ Our soul ^(HX)waits for the Lord;
    he is our ^(HY)help and ^(HZ)our shield.
²¹ For our heart is ^(IA)glad in him,
    because we ^(IB)trust in his holy name.
²² Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us,
    even as we hope in you.

⁴ I ^(II)sought the Lord, and he answered me
    and delivered me from all my fears.
⁵ Those who look to him are ^(IJ)radiant,
    and their faces shall never be ashamed.
^6 (IK)This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him
    and ^(IL)saved him out of all his troubles.
^7 (IM)The angel of the Lord ^(IN)encamps
    around those who fear him, and delivers them.

⁸ Oh, ^(IO)taste and see that ^(IP)the Lord is good!
    ^(IQ)Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
⁹ Oh, fear the Lord, you his saints,
    for those who fear him have no lack!
^10 (IR)The young lions suffer want and hunger;
    but those who ^(IS)seek the Lord lack no good thing.

^11 (IT)Come, O children, listen to me;
    ^(IU)I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
^12 (IV)What man is there who desires life
    and loves many days, that he may ^(IW)see good?
^13 (IX)Keep your tongue from evil
    and your lips from ^(IY)speaking deceit.
^14 (IZ)Turn away from evil and do good;
    seek peace and ^(JA)pursue it.

^15 (JB)The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous
    ^(JC)and his ears toward their cry.
^16 (JD)The face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
    to ^(JE)cut off the memory of them from the earth.
^17 (JF)When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears
    and delivers them out of all their troubles.
¹⁸ The Lord is near to ^(JG)the brokenhearted
    and saves ^(JH)the crushed in spirit.

^19 (JI)Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
    ^(JJ)but the Lord delivers him out of them all.
²⁰ He keeps all his bones;
    ^(JK)not one of them is broken.
^21 (JL)Affliction will slay the wicked,
    and those who hate the righteous will be condemned.
²² The Lord ^(JM)redeems the life of his servants;
    none of those who take refuge in him will be ^(JN)condemned.

^4 (JR)Let them be ^(JS)put to shame and dishonor
    who seek after my life!
Let them be ^(JT)turned back and disappointed
    who devise evil against me!
⁵ Let them be like ^(JU)chaff before the wind,
    with the angel of the Lord driving them away!
⁶ Let their way be dark and ^(JV)slippery,
    with the angel of the Lord pursuing them!

⁷ For ^(JW)without cause ^(JX)they hid their net for me;
    without cause they dug ^(JY)a pit for my life.^[aa]
8 Let ^(JZ)destruction come upon him ^(KA)when he does not know it!
And let the net that he hid ensnare him;
    let him fall into it—to his destruction!

⁹ Then my soul will rejoice in the Lord,
    ^(KB)exulting in his salvation.
¹⁰ All my ^(KC)bones shall say,
    “O Lord, ^(KD)who is like you,
delivering the poor
    from him who is too strong for him,
    the poor and needy from him who robs him?”

^11 (KE)Malicious^[ab] witnesses rise up;
    they ask me of things that I do not know.
^12 (KF)They repay me evil for good;
    my soul is bereft.^[ac]
13 But I, ^(KG)when they were sick—
    I ^(KH)wore sackcloth;
    I ^(KI)afflicted myself with fasting;
I prayed ^(KJ)with head bowed^[ad] on my chest.
¹⁴     I went about as though I grieved for my friend or my brother;
as one who laments his mother,
    I ^(KK)bowed down in mourning.

¹⁵ But at my stumbling they rejoiced and gathered;
    they gathered together against me;
^(KL)wretches whom I did not know
    tore at me without ceasing;
¹⁶ like profane mockers at a feast,^[ae]
    they ^(KM)gnash at me with their teeth.

¹⁷ How long, O Lord, will you ^(KN)look on?
    Rescue me from their destruction,
    ^(KO)my precious life from the lions!
¹⁸ I will thank you in ^(KP)the great congregation;
    in the mighty throng I will praise you.

^19 (KQ)Let not those rejoice over me
    who are ^(KR)wrongfully my foes,
and let not those ^(KS)wink the eye
    who ^(KT)hate me ^(KU)without cause.
²⁰ For they do not speak peace,
    but against those who are quiet in the land
    they devise words of deceit.
²¹ They ^(KV)open wide their mouths against me;
    they say, ^(KW)“Aha, Aha!
    Our eyes have seen it!”

^22 (KX)You have seen, O Lord; ^(KY)be not silent!
    O Lord, ^(KZ)be not far from me!
²³ Awake and ^(LA)rouse yourself for ^(LB)my vindication,
    for my cause, my God and my Lord!
^24 (LC)Vindicate me, O Lord, my God,
    according to your righteousness,
    and ^(LD)let them not rejoice over me!
²⁵ Let them not say in their hearts,
    ^(LE)“Aha, our heart's desire!”
Let them not say, ^(LF)“We have swallowed him up.”

²⁶ Let them be ^(LG)put to shame and disappointed altogether
    who rejoice at my calamity!
Let them be ^(LH)clothed with shame and dishonor
    who ^(LI)magnify themselves against me!

²⁷ Let those who delight in my righteousness
    shout for joy and be glad
    ^(LJ)and say evermore,
^(LK)“Great is the Lord,
    who ^(LL)delights in the welfare of his servant!”
²⁸ Then my ^(LM)tongue shall tell of your righteousness
    and of your praise all the day long.

⁵ Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens,
    your faithfulness to the clouds.
^6 (LW)Your righteousness is like the mountains of God;
    ^(LX)your judgments are like the great deep;
    man and beast you ^(LY)save, O Lord.

^7 (LZ)How precious is your steadfast love, O God!
    The children of mankind take refuge ^(MA)in the shadow of your wings.
⁸ They feast on ^(MB)the abundance of your house,
    and you give them drink from ^(MC)the river of ^(MD)your delights.
⁹ For with you is ^(ME)the fountain of life;
    ^(MF)in your light do we see light.

¹⁰ Oh, continue your steadfast love to those who ^(MG)know you,
    and your righteousness to ^(MH)the upright of heart!
¹¹ Let not the foot of arrogance come upon me,
    nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.
¹² There ^(MI)the evildoers lie fallen;
    they are thrust down, ^(MJ)unable to rise.

^3 (MP)Trust in the Lord, and do good;
    ^(MQ)dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.^[ah]
4 (MR)Delight yourself in the Lord,
    and he will ^(MS)give you the desires of your heart.

^5 (MT)Commit your way to the Lord;
    ^(MU)trust in him, and he will act.
^6 (MV)He will bring forth your righteousness as the light,
    and your justice as ^(MW)the noonday.

^7 (MX)Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;
    ^(MY)fret not yourself over the one who ^(MZ)prospers in his way,
    over the man who carries out evil devices!

^8 (NA)Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath!
    ^(NB)Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil.
^9 (NC)For the evildoers shall be cut off,
    but those who wait for the Lord shall ^(ND)inherit the land.

¹⁰ In ^(NE)just a little while, the wicked will be no more;
    though you look carefully at ^(NF)his place, he will not be there.
¹¹ But ^(NG)the meek shall inherit the land
    and delight themselves in ^(NH)abundant peace.

¹² The wicked ^(NI)plots against the righteous
    and ^(NJ)gnashes his teeth at him,
¹³ but the Lord ^(NK)laughs at the wicked,
    for he sees that his ^(NL)day is coming.

¹⁴ The wicked draw the sword and ^(NM)bend their bows
    to bring down the poor and needy,
    to slay those whose ^(NN)way is upright;
¹⁵ their sword shall enter their own heart,
    and their ^(NO)bows shall be broken.

^16 (NP)Better is the little that the righteous has
    than the abundance of many wicked.
¹⁷ For ^(NQ)the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
    but the Lord ^(NR)upholds the righteous.

¹⁸ The Lord ^(NS)knows the days of the blameless,
    and their ^(NT)heritage will remain forever;
¹⁹ they are not put to shame in evil times;
    in ^(NU)the days of famine they have abundance.

²⁰ But the wicked will perish;
    the enemies of the Lord are like ^(NV)the glory of the pastures;
    they vanish—like ^(NW)smoke they vanish away.

²¹ The wicked borrows but does not pay back,
    but the righteous ^(NX)is generous and gives;
²² for those blessed by the Lord^[ai] shall ^(NY)inherit the land,
    but those cursed by him ^(NZ)shall be cut off.

²³ The ^(OA)steps of a man are ^(OB)established by the Lord,
    when he delights in his way;
^24 (OC)though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong,
    for the Lord ^(OD)upholds his hand.

²⁵ I have been young, and now am old,
    yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken
    or his children ^(OE)begging for bread.
²⁶ He is ever ^(OF)lending generously,
    and his children become a blessing.

^27 (OG)Turn away from evil and do good;
    so shall you ^(OH)dwell forever.
²⁸ For the Lord ^(OI)loves justice;
    he will not forsake his ^(OJ)saints.
They are preserved forever,
    but the children of the wicked shall be ^(OK)cut off.
²⁹ The righteous shall inherit the land
    and ^(OL)dwell upon it forever.

³⁰ The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom,
    and his tongue speaks justice.
^31 (OM)The law of his God is in his heart;
    his ^(ON)steps do not slip.

³² The wicked ^(OO)watches for the righteous
    and seeks to put him to death.
³³ The Lord will not ^(OP)abandon him to his power
    or let him ^(OQ)be condemned when he is brought to trial.

^34 (OR)Wait for the Lord and keep his way,
    and he will exalt you to inherit the land;
    you will look on ^(OS)when the wicked are cut off.

^35 (OT)I have seen a wicked, ruthless man,
    spreading himself like ^(OU)a green laurel tree.^[aj]
36 But he passed away,^[ak] and behold, ^(OV)he was no more;
    though I sought him, he could not be found.

³⁷ Mark the blameless and behold the upright,
    for there is a future for the man of ^(OW)peace.
³⁸ But ^(OX)transgressors shall be altogether destroyed;
    the future of the wicked ^(OY)shall be cut off.

^39 (OZ)The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord;
    he is their stronghold in ^(PA)the time of trouble.
⁴⁰ The Lord helps them and ^(PB)delivers them;
    ^(PC)he delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
    because they ^(PD)take refuge in him.

³ There is ^(PI)no soundness in my flesh
    because of your indignation;
there is no health in my ^(PJ)bones
    because of my sin.
⁴ For my ^(PK)iniquities have gone over my head;
    like a heavy burden, they are too heavy for me.

⁵ My wounds stink and fester
    because of my foolishness,
⁶ I am ^(PL)utterly bowed down and ^(PM)prostrate;
    all the day I ^(PN)go about mourning.
⁷ For my sides are filled with burning,
    and there is ^(PO)no soundness in my flesh.
⁸ I am feeble and crushed;
    I ^(PP)groan because of the tumult of my heart.

⁹ O Lord, all my longing is before you;

    none can compare with you!
I will proclaim and tell of them,

Burnt offering and sin offering
    you have not required.
⁷ Then I said, “Behold, I have come;

⁹ I have told the glad news of deliverance^[an]

¹⁰ I have not hidden your deliverance within my heart;
    I have spoken of your faithfulness and your salvation;
I have not concealed your steadfast love and your faithfulness

¹¹ As for you, O Lord, you will not restrain
    your mercy from me;
your ^(SK)steadfast love and your faithfulness will
    ever preserve me!

    beyond number;
my ^(SM)iniquities have overtaken me,

    who seek to snatch away my life;

    who delight in my hurt!

¹⁶ But may all who seek you
    rejoice and be glad in you;
may those who love your salvation

    but ^(SY)the Lord takes thought for me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
    do not delay, O my God!

⁴ As for me, I said, “O Lord, ^(TC)be gracious to me;

⁵ My enemies say of me in malice,
    “When will he die, and his name perish?”
⁶ And when one comes to see me, ^(TE)he utters empty words,
    while his heart gathers iniquity;
    when he goes out, he tells it abroad.

⁸ They say, “A deadly thing is poured out^[as] on him;

    and raise me up, that I may repay them!

    though we have not forgotten you,
    and we have not been false to your covenant.

    and covered us with ^(WE)the shadow of death.
²⁰ If we had forgotten the name of our God

    Why do you forget our affliction and oppression?

    forget your people and your father's house,
