Psalm 103-105

Bless Yahweh, O My Soul

Of David.

103 (A)Bless Yahweh, O my soul,
And all that is within me, bless His (B)holy name.
Bless Yahweh, O my soul,
And (C)forget none of His benefits;
Who (D)pardons all your iniquities,
Who (E)heals all your diseases;
Who (F)redeems your life from the pit,
Who (G)crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;
Who (H)satisfies your [a]years with good things,
So that your youth is (I)renewed like the eagle.

Yahweh (J)performs righteous deeds
And judgments for all who are (K)oppressed.
He (L)made known His ways to Moses,
His (M)acts to the sons of Israel.
Yahweh is (N)compassionate and gracious,
(O)Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness.
He (P)will not always contend with us,
And He will not (Q)keep His anger forever.
10 He has (R)not dealt with us according to our sins,
And He has not rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high (S)as the heavens are above the earth,
So great is His lovingkindness toward those who [b]fear Him.
12 As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He (T)removed our transgressions from us.
13 (U)As a father has compassion on his children,
So Yahweh has compassion on those who [c]fear Him.
14 For (V)He Himself knows [d]our form;
He (W)remembers that we are but (X)dust.

15 As for man, his days are (Y)like grass;
As a (Z)flower of the field, so he flowers.
16 When the (AA)wind has passed over it, it is no more,
And its (AB)place acknowledges it no longer.
17 But the (AC)lovingkindness of Yahweh is from everlasting to everlasting on those who [e]fear Him,
And His [f]righteousness (AD)to children’s children,
18 To (AE)those who keep His covenant
And remember His precepts to do them.

19 Yahweh has established His (AF)throne in the heavens,
And His (AG)kingdom rules over [g]all.
20 Bless Yahweh, you (AH)His angels,
(AI)Mighty in strength, who (AJ)perform His word,
(AK)Obeying the voice of His word!
21 Bless Yahweh, all you (AL)His hosts,
You (AM)who serve Him, doing His will.
22 Bless Yahweh, (AN)all you works of His,
In all places of His rule;
Bless Yahweh, O my soul!

The Glory of Yahweh Endures Forever

104 (AO)Bless Yahweh, O my soul!
O Yahweh my God, You are very great;
You are (AP)clothed with splendor and majesty,
Wrapping Yourself with (AQ)light as with a cloak,
(AR)Stretching out the heavens like a tent curtain.
[h]He (AS)lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters;
[i]He sets up the (AT)clouds to be His chariot;
[j]He walks upon the (AU)wings of the wind;
[k]He makes His [l]angels (AV)the winds,
His ministers flaming (AW)fire.

He (AX)founded the earth upon its place,
So that it will not [m]shake forever and ever.
You (AY)covered it with the deep as with a garment;
The waters were standing above the mountains.
At Your (AZ)rebuke they fled,
At the (BA)sound of Your thunder they hurried away in alarm.
The mountains went up; the valleys went down
To the (BB)place which You founded for them.
You set a (BC)boundary that they may not pass over,
So that they will not return to cover the earth.

10 [n]He sends forth (BD)springs in the valleys;
They flow between the mountains;
11 They (BE)give water to every beast of the field;
The (BF)wild donkeys quench their thirst.
12 Above them the birds of the heavens (BG)dwell;
They give forth their voices among the branches.
13 [o]He (BH)gives water to the mountains from His upper chambers;
(BI)The earth is satisfied with the fruit of His works.

14 [p]He causes the (BJ)grass to grow for the [q]cattle,
And (BK)vegetation for man’s [r]cultivation,
To bring forth [s]food (BL)from the earth,
15 And (BM)wine which makes man’s heart glad,
(BN)To make his face glisten more than oil,
And [t]food which (BO)sustains man’s heart.
16 The trees of Yahweh are satisfied,
The cedars of Lebanon which He planted,
17 Where the (BP)birds build their nests,
The (BQ)stork’s home is in the [u]fir trees.

18 The high mountains are for the (BR)wild goats;
The (BS)cliffs are a refuge for the [v](BT)shephanim.
19 He made the moon (BU)for the seasons;
The (BV)sun knows the place of its setting.
20 You (BW)appoint darkness so that it becomes night,
In which all the (BX)beasts of the forest (BY)creep about.
21 The (BZ)young lions roar to go after their prey
And to (CA)seek their food from God.
22 When the sun rises they gather together
And lie down in their (CB)dens.
23 Man goes forth to (CC)his work
And to his labor until evening.

24 How (CD)numerous are Your works, O Yahweh!
[w]In (CE)wisdom You have made them all;
The (CF)earth is full of Your [x]possessions.
25 This is the (CG)sea, great and [y]broad,
There the creeping things are without number,
Creatures both small and great.
26 There the (CH)ships move along,
And [z](CI)Leviathan, which You have formed to play in it.

27 They all (CJ)wait for You
To (CK)give them their food in [aa]due season.
28 You give to them, they gather it up;
You (CL)open Your hand, they are satisfied with good.
29 You (CM)hide Your face, they are dismayed;
You (CN)take away their [ab]spirit, they breathe their last
And (CO)return to their dust.
30 You send forth Your [ac](CP)Spirit, they are created;
And You renew the face of the ground.

31 Let the (CQ)glory of Yahweh endure forever;
Let Yahweh (CR)be glad in His works;
32 [ad]He (CS)looks at the earth, and it (CT)trembles;
He (CU)touches the mountains, and they smoke.
33 [ae]I will sing to Yahweh (CV)throughout my life;
[af]I will (CW)sing praise to my God [ag]while I have my being.
34 Let my (CX)musing be pleasing to Him;
As for me, I shall (CY)be glad in Yahweh.
35 Let sinners be (CZ)consumed from the earth
And let the (DA)wicked be no more.
(DB)Bless Yahweh, O my soul.
[ah](DC)Praise Yah!

Remember His Wondrous Deeds

105 Oh (DD)give thanks to Yahweh, (DE)call upon His name;
(DF)Make known His acts among the peoples.
Sing to Him, (DG)sing praises to Him;
(DH)Muse on all His wondrous deeds.
Boast in His holy name;
Let the (DI)heart of those who seek Yahweh be glad.
Inquire of Yahweh and (DJ)His strength;
(DK)Seek His face continually.
Remember His (DL)wondrous deeds which He has done,
His miracles and the (DM)judgments [ai]uttered by His mouth,
O seed of (DN)Abraham, His servant,
O sons of (DO)Jacob, His (DP)chosen ones!
He is Yahweh our God;
His (DQ)judgments are in all the earth.

He has (DR)remembered His covenant forever,
The word which He commanded for a (DS)thousand generations,
(DT)Which He cut with Abraham,
And His (DU)oath to Isaac.
10 Then He (DV)confirmed it to Jacob for a statute,
To Israel as an everlasting covenant,
11 Saying, “(DW)To you I will give the land of Canaan
As the [aj](DX)portion of your inheritance,”
12 When they were only a (DY)few men in number,
Of little account, and (DZ)sojourners in it.
13 And they wandered about from nation to nation,
From one kingdom to another people.
14 He (EA)permitted no man to oppress them,
And He (EB)reproved kings for their sakes:
15 (EC)Do not touch My anointed ones,
And to My prophets do no evil.”

16 And He (ED)called for a famine upon the land;
He (EE)broke the whole staff of bread.
17 He (EF)sent a man before them,
Joseph, who was (EG)sold as a slave.
18 They afflicted his (EH)feet with fetters,
[ak]He himself was laid in irons;
19 Until the time that his (EI)word came to pass,
The word of Yahweh (EJ)refined him.
20 The (EK)king sent and released him,
The ruler of peoples sent and set him free.
21 He (EL)set him up as lord of his house
And ruler over all his possessions,
22 To [al]imprison his princes [am](EM)at will,
And that he might teach his elders wisdom.
23 (EN)Then Israel came to Egypt;
And Jacob (EO)sojourned in the land of Ham.
24 And He (EP)caused His people to be very fruitful,
And He caused them to be stronger than their adversaries.

25 He (EQ)turned their heart to hate His people,
To (ER)deal craftily with His slaves.
26 He (ES)sent Moses His servant,
And (ET)Aaron, whom He had chosen.
27 They (EU)set forth the words of His signs among them,
And miracles in the land of Ham.
28 He (EV)sent darkness and made it dark;
And they did not (EW)rebel against His words.
29 He (EX)turned their waters into blood
And caused their fish to die.
30 Their land swarmed with (EY)frogs
Even in the (EZ)chambers of their kings.
31 He spoke, and there came a (FA)swarm of flies
And (FB)gnats in all their territory.
32 He [an]gave them (FC)hail for rain,
And flaming fire in their land.
33 He also (FD)struck down their vines and their fig trees,
And He shattered the trees of their territory.
34 He spoke, and (FE)locusts came,
And creeping locusts, without number,
35 And [ao]they ate up all vegetation in their land,
And [ap]they ate up the fruit of their ground.
36 He also (FF)struck down all the firstborn in their land,
The (FG)first of all their vigor.

37 Then He brought them out with (FH)silver and gold,
And there was none among His tribes who stumbled.
38 Egypt was (FI)glad when they went out,
For the (FJ)dread of them had fallen upon them.
39 He spread a (FK)cloud for a [aq]covering,
And (FL)fire to give light by night.
40 [ar]They (FM)asked, and He brought (FN)quail,
And He satisfied them with the [as](FO)bread of heaven.
41 He opened the [at]rock and (FP)water flowed out;
[au]It ran in the dry places like a river.
42 For He (FQ)remembered His holy word
With Abraham His servant;
43 And He brought His people out with joy,
His chosen ones with a shout of (FR)joy.
44 He (FS)gave them also the lands of the [av]nations,
That they (FT)might take possession of the fruit of the peoples’ labor,
45 So that they might (FU)keep His statutes
And observe His laws,
[aw]Praise Yah!
