Ascribe to Yahweh Glory and Strength

96 (A)Sing to Yahweh a (B)new song;
Sing to Yahweh, all the earth.
Sing to Yahweh, bless His name;
(C)Proclaim good news of His salvation from day to day.
Recount (D)His glory among the nations,
His wondrous deeds among all the peoples.
For (E)great is Yahweh and (F)greatly to be praised;
He is [a]more [b](G)fearsome (H)than all gods.
For (I)all the gods of the peoples are [c]idols,
But (J)Yahweh made the heavens.
(K)Splendor and majesty are before Him,
Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.

[d]Ascribe to Yahweh, O (L)families of the peoples,
[e](M)Ascribe to Yahweh glory and strength.
Ascribe to Yahweh the (N)glory of His name;
Lift up [f]an (O)offering and come into His courts.
(P)Worship Yahweh in the splendor of holiness;
(Q)Tremble before Him, all the earth.
10 Say among the nations, “(R)Yahweh [g]reigns;
Indeed, the (S)world is established, it will not be shaken;
He will (T)render justice to the peoples with [h]equity.”

11 Let the (U)heavens be glad, and let the (V)earth rejoice;
Let (W)the sea [i]roar, as well as its fullness;
12 Let the (X)field exult, and all that is in it.
Then all the (Y)trees of the forest will sing for joy
13 Before Yahweh, (Z)for He is coming,
For He is coming to judge the earth.
(AA)He will judge the world in righteousness
And the peoples in His faithfulness.

Remember His Holy Name

97 (AB)Yahweh [j]reigns, let the (AC)earth rejoice;
Let the many (AD)coastlands be glad.
(AE)Clouds and thick darkness are all around Him;
(AF)Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.
(AG)Fire goes before Him
And (AH)burns up His adversaries all around.
His (AI)lightnings light up the world;
The earth sees and (AJ)trembles.
The mountains (AK)melt like wax at the presence of Yahweh,
At the presence of the (AL)Lord of all the earth.
The (AM)heavens declare His righteousness,
And (AN)all the peoples see His glory.

Let all those be ashamed who serve (AO)graven images,
Who boast of (AP)idols;
[k](AQ)Worship Him, all you [l]gods!
Zion [m]heard this and (AR)was glad,
And the daughters of Judah have rejoiced
Because of Your judgments, O Yahweh.
For You are Yahweh (AS)Most High over all the earth;
You are exalted far (AT)above all [n]gods.

10 (AU)Hate evil, you who love Yahweh,
Who (AV)keeps the souls of His holy ones;
He (AW)delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
11 (AX)Light is sown for the righteous
And (AY)gladness for the upright in heart.
12 Be (AZ)glad in Yahweh, you righteous ones,
And (BA)give thanks for the remembrance of [o]His holy name.

Sing to Yahweh a New Song

A Psalm.

98 Sing to Yahweh a (BB)new song,
For He has done (BC)wondrous deeds,
His (BD)right hand and His (BE)holy arm have [p]worked out His salvation.
(BF)Yahweh has made known His salvation;
He has (BG)revealed His righteousness in the eyes of the nations.
He has (BH)remembered His lovingkindness and His faithfulness to the house of Israel;
(BI)All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

(BJ)Make a loud shout to Yahweh, all the earth;
(BK)Break forth and sing for joy and sing praises.
Sing praises to Yahweh with the (BL)lyre,
With the lyre and the (BM)sound of singing.
With (BN)trumpets and the sound of the horn
(BO)Make a loud shout before (BP)King Yahweh.

Let the (BQ)sea roar, as well as its fullness,
The (BR)world and those who dwell in it.
Let the (BS)rivers clap their hands,
Let the (BT)mountains sing together for joy
Before Yahweh, for He is coming to (BU)judge the earth;
He will judge the world with righteousness
And (BV)the peoples with [q]equity.

Holy Is Yahweh Our God

99 (BW)Yahweh reigns, let the peoples tremble;
He (BX)sits enthroned above the cherubim, let the earth quake!
Yahweh is (BY)great in Zion,
And He is (BZ)exalted above all the peoples.
Let them praise Your (CA)great and awesome name;
(CB)Holy is [r]He.
[s]The strength of the King (CC)loves [t]justice;
You have established [u](CD)equity;
You have (CE)done [v]justice and righteousness in Jacob.
(CF)Exalt Yahweh our God
And (CG)worship at the footstool of His feet;
(CH)Holy is He.

(CI)Moses and Aaron were among His (CJ)priests,
And (CK)Samuel was among those who (CL)called on His name;
They (CM)would call upon Yahweh and He would answer them.
He (CN)would speak to them in the pillar of cloud;
They (CO)kept His testimonies
And the statute that He gave them.
O Yahweh our God, You (CP)answered them;
You were a (CQ)forgiving God to them,
And yet an (CR)avenger of their evil deeds.
Exalt Yahweh our God
And worship at His holy mountain,
For holy is Yahweh our God.

Serve Yahweh with Gladness

A Psalm of [w]Thanksgiving.

100 (CS)Make a loud shout to Yahweh, all the earth.
(CT)Serve Yahweh with gladness;
(CU)Come before Him with joyful songs.
Know that (CV)Yahweh, He is God;
It is He who has (CW)made us, and [x]not we ourselves;
We are (CX)His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Enter His gates (CY)with [y]thanksgiving
And His courts with praise.
Give thanks to Him, (CZ)bless His name.
For (DA)Yahweh is good;
(DB)His lovingkindness endures forever
And His (DC)faithfulness, generation unto generation.

Consider the Way of the Blameless

Of David. A Psalm.

101 I will (DD)sing of lovingkindness and [z]justice,
To You, O Yahweh, I will sing praises.
I will [aa](DE)consider the way of the blameless.
When will You come to me?
I will walk within my house in the [ab](DF)integrity of my heart.
I will set no (DG)vile thing before my eyes;
I hate the [ac]work of those who (DH)fall away;
It shall not cling to me.
A (DI)crooked heart shall depart from me;
I will know no evil.
Whoever secretly (DJ)slanders his neighbor, him I will [ad]destroy;
Whoever has a (DK)haughty look and an arrogant heart, I will not endure.

My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may abide with me;
He who walks in the (DL)way of the blameless is the one who will minister to me.
He who (DM)practices deceit shall not dwell within my house;
He who speaks lies (DN)shall not be established before my eyes.
(DO)Every morning I will [ae](DP)destroy all the wicked of the land,
To (DQ)cut off from the (DR)city of Yahweh all the workers of iniquity.

Do Not Hide Your Face from Me

A Prayer of the afflicted when he is faint and [af]pours out his complaint before Yahweh.

102 (DS)O Yahweh, hear my prayer!
And let my cry for help (DT)come to You.
(DU)Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my distress;
(DV)Incline Your ear to me;
In the day when I call (DW)answer me quickly.
For my days (DX)have [ag]vanished in smoke,
And my (DY)bones have been scorched like a hearth.
My heart (DZ)has been stricken like [ah]grass and it has (EA)dried up,
Indeed, I (EB)forget to eat my bread.
Because of the sound of my groaning
My (EC)bones [ai]cling to my flesh.
I resemble a (ED)pelican of the wilderness;
I have become like an owl of the waste places.
I (EE)lie awake,
I have become like a lonely bird on a roof.

My enemies (EF)have reproached me all day long;
Those who [aj](EG)ridicule me (EH)swear against me.
For I have eaten ashes like bread
And (EI)mixed my drinks with weeping
10 (EJ)Because of Your indignation and Your wrath,
For You have (EK)lifted me up and cast me away.
11 My days are like an (EL)outstretched shadow,
And as for me, I (EM)dry up like [ak]grass.

12 But You, O Yahweh, [al](EN)abide forever,
And the (EO)remembrance of Your name [am]from generation to generation.
13 You will (EP)arise and have (EQ)compassion on Zion—
For (ER)it is time to be gracious to it,
For the (ES)appointed time has come.
14 For Your slaves [an]find pleasure in its stones
And show grace to its dust—
15 [ao]So the [ap](ET)nations will fear the name of Yahweh
And (EU)all the kings of the earth Your glory.
16 For Yahweh has (EV)built up Zion;
He has (EW)appeared in His glory.
17 He has (EX)turned toward the prayer of the [aq]destitute
And has not despised their prayer.

18 [ar]This will be (EY)written for the (EZ)generation to come,
And (FA)a people yet to be created will praise Yah.
19 For He (FB)looked down from His holy height;
(FC)From heaven Yahweh gazed [as]upon the earth,
20 To hear the (FD)groaning of the prisoner,
To (FE)set free [at]those who were doomed to death,
21 To (FF)recount the name of Yahweh in Zion
And His praise in Jerusalem,
22 When (FG)the peoples are gathered together,
And the kingdoms, to serve Yahweh.

23 He has afflicted my strength in the way;
He has (FH)shortened my days.
24 I say, “O my God, (FI)do not take me away in the [au]midst of my days,
Your (FJ)years are from generation to all generations.
25 Of old You (FK)founded the earth,
And the (FL)heavens are the work of Your hands.
26 [av]Even they will (FM)perish, but You will remain;
And all of them will wear out like a garment;
Like clothing You will change them and they will be changed.
27 But You are [aw](FN)the same,
And Your years will not come to an end.
28 The (FO)children of Your slaves will dwell securely,
And their (FP)seed will be established before You.”
