Psalm 61-62

Lead Me to the Rock

For the choir director. On a stringed instrument. Of David.

61 (A)Hear my cry of lamentation, O God;
(B)Give heed to my prayer.
From the (C)end of the earth I call to You when my heart is (D)faint;
Lead me to (E)the rock that is higher than I.
For You have been a (F)refuge for me,
A (G)tower of strength before the enemy.
Let me (H)sojourn in Your tent forever;
Let me (I)take refuge in the shelter of Your wings. [a]Selah.

For You, O God, have heard my (J)vows;
You have given me the inheritance of those who (K)fear Your name.
You will (L)add days to the king’s [b]life;
His years will be from generation to generation.
He will sit enthroned (M)before God forever;
Appoint (N)lovingkindness and truth that they may guard him.
So I will (O)sing praise to Your name forever,
As I (P)pay my vows day by day.

God Is a Refuge for Us

For the choir director. According to [c]Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.

62 (Q)Surely my soul waits in silence for God;
From Him (R)is my salvation.
Surely He is my (S)rock and my salvation,
My (T)stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken.

How long will you assail a man,
That you may murder him, all of you,
Like a (U)leaning wall, like a fence thrust down?
Surely they have counseled to thrust him down from his high position;
They (V)find pleasure in falsehood;
They (W)bless with [d]their mouth,
But inwardly they curse. [e]Selah.

Surely (X)wait in silence for God, O my soul,
For my hope is from Him.
Surely He is (Y)my rock and my salvation,
My stronghold; I shall not be shaken.
On God my (Z)salvation and my glory rest;
The rock of my strength, my (AA)refuge is in God.
(AB)Trust in Him at all times, O people;
(AC)Pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Surely [f]men of (AD)low degree are merely (AE)vanity and [g]men of rank are a (AF)lie;
In the (AG)balances they go up;
They are together lighter than a breath of vanity.
10 (AH)Do not trust in oppression
And do not put vain hope in (AI)robbery;
If riches increase, (AJ)do not set your heart upon them.

11 [h]Once God has (AK)spoken;
[i]Twice I have heard this:
That (AL)strength belongs to God;
12 And that (AM)to You, O Lord, belongs lovingkindness,
For You (AN)repay a man according to his work.

Psalm 112

Psalm 115

To Yahweh’s Name Give Glory

115 (A)Not to us, O Yahweh, not to us,
But (B)to Your name give glory
Because of Your lovingkindness, because of Your [a]truth.
(C)Why should the nations say,
(D)Where, now, is their God?”
But our (E)God is in the heavens;
He (F)does whatever He pleases.
Their (G)idols are silver and gold,
The (H)work of man’s hands.
They have mouths, but they (I)do not speak;
They have eyes, but they do not see;
They have ears, but they do not hear;
They have noses, but they do not smell;
As for their hands, they do not feel;
As for their feet, they do not walk;
They do not make a sound with their throat.
(J)Those who make them [b]will become like them,
Everyone who trusts in them.

O (K)Israel, (L)trust in Yahweh;
He is their (M)help and their shield.
10 O house of (N)Aaron, trust in Yahweh;
He is their help and their shield.
11 You who [c](O)fear Yahweh, trust in Yahweh;
He is their help and their shield.
12 Yahweh (P)remembered us; He will bless!
He will bless the house of Israel.
He will bless the house of Aaron.
13 He will (Q)bless those who [d]fear Yahweh,
(R)The small together with the great.
14 May Yahweh (S)give you increase,
You and your children.
15 May you be blessed of Yahweh,
(T)Who made heaven and earth.

16 The heavens are (U)the heavens of Yahweh,
But (V)the earth He has given to the sons of men.
17 It is not the (W)dead that praise Yah,
And it is none of those who go down to (X)silence;
18 But as for us, we will (Y)bless Yah
From now until forever.
[e]Praise Yah!

Isaiah 11:1-9

The Judgments of the Branch

11 Then a (A)shoot will spring from the (B)stem of Jesse,
And a (C)branch from (D)his roots will bear fruit.
The (E)Spirit of Yahweh will rest on Him,
The spirit of (F)wisdom and understanding,
The spirit of counsel and (G)might,
The spirit of knowledge and the fear of Yahweh.
And He will delight in the fear of Yahweh,
And He will not judge by what His eyes (H)see,
Nor render a decision by what His ears hear;
But with (I)righteousness He will judge the (J)poor,
And decide with uprightness for the (K)afflicted of the earth;
And He will strike the earth with the (L)rod of His mouth,
And with the (M)breath of His lips He will put the wicked to death.
Also (N)righteousness will be the belt about His loins,
And (O)faithfulness the belt about His waist.

And the (P)wolf will [a]dwell with the lamb,
And the leopard will lie down with the young goat,
And the calf and the young lion [b]and the fatling together;
And a young boy will lead them.
Also the cow and the bear will graze,
Their young will lie down together,
And the (Q)lion will eat straw like the ox.
And the nursing baby will play by the hole of the cobra,
And the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den.
They will (R)do no evil nor act corruptly in all My holy mountain,
For the (S)earth will be full of the knowledge of Yahweh
As the waters cover the sea.

Revelation 20:1-10

Christ’s Thousand Year Reign

20 Then I saw (A)an angel coming down from heaven, having the (B)key of the abyss and a great chain [a]in his hand. And he laid hold of the (C)dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and (D)bound him for a thousand years; and he threw him into the (E)abyss, and shut it and (F)sealed it over him, so that he would (G)not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were finished. After these things he must be released for a short time.

Then I saw (H)thrones, and (I)they sat on them, and (J)judgment was given to them. And I saw (K)the souls of those who had been beheaded because of [b]their (L)witness of Jesus and because of the word of God, and who also had not (M)worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the (N)mark on their forehead and on their hand. And they (O)came to life and (P)reigned with Christ for a thousand years. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were finished. (Q)This is the first resurrection. (R)Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection. Over these the (S)second death has no authority, but they will be (T)priests of God and of Christ and will (U)reign with Him for a thousand years.

The Defeat of Satan

And when the thousand years are finished, Satan will be (V)released from his prison, and will come out to (W)deceive the nations which are in the (X)four corners of the earth, (Y)Gog and Magog, to (Z)gather them together for the war; the number of them is like the (AA)sand of the [c]seashore. And they (AB)came up on the [d]broad plain of the earth and surrounded the (AC)camp of the saints and the (AD)beloved city, and (AE)fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10 And (AF)the devil who (AG)deceived them was thrown into the (AH)lake of fire and [e]brimstone, where the (AI)beast and the (AJ)false prophet are also, and they will be (AK)tormented day and night forever and ever.

John 5:30-47

30 (A)I can do nothing from Myself. As I hear, I judge; and (B)My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will, but (C)the will of Him who sent Me.

31 (D)If I alone bear witness about Myself, My witness is not [a]true. 32 There is (E)another who bears witness about Me, and I know that the witness which He gives about Me is true.

Witnesses to Jesus: The Father and the Scriptures

33 You have sent to John, and he (F)has borne witness to the truth. 34 But (G)the witness I receive is not from man, but I say these things so that you may be saved. 35 He was (H)the lamp that was burning and shining and you (I)were willing to rejoice for [b]a while in his light. 36 But the witness I have is greater than the witness of John; for (J)the works which the Father has given Me (K)to finish—the very works that I do—bear witness about Me, that the Father (L)has sent Me. 37 And the Father who sent Me, (M)He has borne witness about Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time nor seen His form. 38 And you do not have (N)His word abiding in you, for you do not believe Him whom He (O)sent. 39 [c](P)You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is (Q)these that bear witness about Me; 40 and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life. 41 (R)I do not receive glory from men; 42 but I know you, that you do not have the love of God in yourselves. 43 I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; (S)if another comes in his own name, you will receive him. 44 How can you believe, when you (T)receive [d]glory from one another and you do not seek (U)the [e]glory that is from (V)the only God? 45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father; the one who accuses you is (W)Moses, in whom you have set your hope. 46 For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, for (X)he wrote about Me. 47 But (Y)if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”
