Psalm 97

Remember His Holy Name

97 (A)Yahweh [a]reigns, let the (B)earth rejoice;
Let the many (C)coastlands be glad.
(D)Clouds and thick darkness are all around Him;
(E)Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.
(F)Fire goes before Him
And (G)burns up His adversaries all around.
His (H)lightnings light up the world;
The earth sees and (I)trembles.
The mountains (J)melt like wax at the presence of Yahweh,
At the presence of the (K)Lord of all the earth.
The (L)heavens declare His righteousness,
And (M)all the peoples see His glory.

Let all those be ashamed who serve (N)graven images,
Who boast of (O)idols;
[b](P)Worship Him, all you [c]gods!
Zion [d]heard this and (Q)was glad,
And the daughters of Judah have rejoiced
Because of Your judgments, O Yahweh.
For You are Yahweh (R)Most High over all the earth;
You are exalted far (S)above all [e]gods.

10 (T)Hate evil, you who love Yahweh,
Who (U)keeps the souls of His holy ones;
He (V)delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
11 (W)Light is sown for the righteous
And (X)gladness for the upright in heart.
12 Be (Y)glad in Yahweh, you righteous ones,
And (Z)give thanks for the remembrance of [f]His holy name.

Psalm 99-100

Holy Is Yahweh Our God

99 (A)Yahweh reigns, let the peoples tremble;
He (B)sits enthroned above the cherubim, let the earth quake!
Yahweh is (C)great in Zion,
And He is (D)exalted above all the peoples.
Let them praise Your (E)great and awesome name;
(F)Holy is [a]He.
[b]The strength of the King (G)loves [c]justice;
You have established [d](H)equity;
You have (I)done [e]justice and righteousness in Jacob.
(J)Exalt Yahweh our God
And (K)worship at the footstool of His feet;
(L)Holy is He.

(M)Moses and Aaron were among His (N)priests,
And (O)Samuel was among those who (P)called on His name;
They (Q)would call upon Yahweh and He would answer them.
He (R)would speak to them in the pillar of cloud;
They (S)kept His testimonies
And the statute that He gave them.
O Yahweh our God, You (T)answered them;
You were a (U)forgiving God to them,
And yet an (V)avenger of their evil deeds.
Exalt Yahweh our God
And worship at His holy mountain,
For holy is Yahweh our God.

Serve Yahweh with Gladness

A Psalm of [f]Thanksgiving.

100 (W)Make a loud shout to Yahweh, all the earth.
(X)Serve Yahweh with gladness;
(Y)Come before Him with joyful songs.
Know that (Z)Yahweh, He is God;
It is He who has (AA)made us, and [g]not we ourselves;
We are (AB)His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Enter His gates (AC)with [h]thanksgiving
And His courts with praise.
Give thanks to Him, (AD)bless His name.
For (AE)Yahweh is good;
(AF)His lovingkindness endures forever
And His (AG)faithfulness, generation unto generation.

Psalm 94-95

God of Vengeance, Shine Forth

94 O Yahweh, God of [a](A)vengeance,
God of [b]vengeance, [c](B)shine forth!
(C)Be lifted up, O (D)Judge of the earth,
Render recompense (E)to the proud.
How long shall the wicked, O Yahweh,
How long shall the (F)wicked exult?
They pour forth words, they (G)speak arrogantly;
All workers of iniquity (H)vaunt themselves.
They (I)crush Your people, O Yahweh,
And (J)afflict Your inheritance.
They (K)slay the widow and the sojourner
And murder the orphans.
(L)They have said, “Yah does not see,
Nor does the God of Jacob discern.”

Discern, you (M)senseless among the people;
And when will you have insight, (N)you fools?
He who (O)planted the ear, [d]does He not hear?
He who formed the eye, [e]does He not see?
10 He who [f](P)disciplines the nations, will He not rebuke,
Even He who (Q)teaches man knowledge?
11 Yahweh (R)knows the thoughts of man,
[g]That they are vanity.

12 Blessed is the man whom (S)You discipline, O Yah,
And (T)whom You teach out of Your law;
13 That You may grant him (U)calm from the (V)days of calamity,
Until (W)a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 For (X)Yahweh will not abandon His people,
Nor will He (Y)forsake His inheritance.
15 For [h](Z)judgment will [i]again be righteous,
And all the upright in heart will [j]follow it.
16 Who will (AA)arise for me against evildoers?
Who will take his stand for me (AB)against workers of iniquity?

17 If (AC)Yahweh had not been my help,
My soul would soon have dwelt in the abode of silence.
18 If I should say, “(AD)My foot has stumbled,”
Your lovingkindness, O Yahweh, will hold me up.
19 When my anxious thoughts [k]multiply within me,
Your (AE)consolations delight my soul.
20 Can a [l](AF)throne of destruction be allied with You,
One (AG)which forms [m]trouble by statute?
21 They (AH)band themselves together against the [n]life of the righteous
And (AI)condemn [o]the innocent to death.
22 But Yahweh has been my (AJ)stronghold,
And my God the (AK)rock of my refuge.
23 He has (AL)brought back their [p]iniquity upon them
And will [q](AM)destroy them in their evil;
Yahweh our God will [r]destroy them.

Let Us Kneel Before Yahweh Our Maker

95 Oh come, let us (AN)sing for joy to Yahweh,
Let us make a loud shout to (AO)the rock of our salvation.
Let us (AP)come before His presence (AQ)with [s]thanksgiving,
Let us make a loud shout to Him (AR)with songs of praise.
For Yahweh is a (AS)great God
And a great King (AT)above all gods,
In whose hand are the (AU)depths of the earth,
The peaks of the mountains are His also.
[t]The sea is His, for it was He (AV)who made it,
And His hands formed the dry land.

Come, let us (AW)worship and bow down,
Let us (AX)kneel before Yahweh our (AY)Maker.
For He is our God,
And (AZ)we are the people of His (BA)pasture and the sheep of His hand.
(BB)Today, [u]if you hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts, as at [v](BC)Meribah,
As in the day of [w](BD)Massah in the wilderness,
“When your fathers (BE)tried Me,
They tested Me, though they had seen My work.
10 For (BF)forty years I loathed that generation,
And said they are a people who wander in their heart,
And they do not know My ways.
11 Therefore I (BG)swore in My anger,
They shall never enter into My (BH)rest.”

Hosea 4:1-10

Yahweh’s Contention with Israel

(A)Listen to the word of Yahweh, O sons of Israel,
For Yahweh has a (B)contention against the inhabitants of the land,
Because there is (C)no truth or [a]lovingkindness
Or (D)knowledge of God in the land.
There is (E)swearing of oaths, (F)deception, (G)murder, (H)stealing, and (I)adultery.
They break forth in violence so that (J)bloodshed [b]follows bloodshed.
Therefore the land (K)mourns,
And everyone who inhabits it languishes
Along with the beasts of the field and the birds of the sky,
And also the fish of the sea [c]disappear.

Yet let no man (L)contend, and let no man offer reproof;
Indeed, your people are like those who (M)contend with the priest.
So you will (N)stumble by day,
And the prophet also will stumble with you by night;
And I will destroy your (O)mother.
(P)My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Because you have (Q)rejected knowledge,
I also will (R)reject you from ministering as My priest.
Since you have (S)forgotten the (T)law of your God,
I Myself also will forget your children.

The more they (U)multiplied, the more they sinned against Me;
I will (V)change their glory into disgrace.
They (W)eat the [d]sin of My people
And (X)lift up [e]their soul toward their iniquity.
And it will be like people, (Y)like priest;
So I will (Z)punish them for their ways
And cause their deeds to return to them.
10 (AA)They will eat, but not be satisfied;
They will (AB)play the harlot, but not break forth in number,
Because they have [f](AC)forsaken Yahweh to keep harlotry.

Acts 21:1-14

Paul Sets Out for Jerusalem

21 Now when (A)we had parted from them and had set sail, we came by (B)a straight course to Cos and the next day to Rhodes and from there to Patara; and having found a ship crossing over to (C)Phoenicia, we went aboard and set sail. And when we came in sight of (D)Cyprus, leaving it on the left, we kept sailing to (E)Syria and landed at (F)Tyre; for there the ship was to unload its cargo. And after looking up (G)the disciples, we stayed there seven days; and they kept telling Paul (H)through the Spirit not to set foot in Jerusalem. And when [a]our days there were ended, we left and started on our journey, while they all, with wives and children, (I)escorted us until we were out of the city. After (J)kneeling down on the beach and praying, we said farewell to one another. Then we went on board the ship, and they returned (K)home again.

And when we had finished the voyage from (L)Tyre, we arrived at Ptolemais, and after greeting (M)the brothers, we stayed with them for a day. And on the next day we left and came to (N)Caesarea, and entering the house of (O)Philip the (P)evangelist, who was (Q)one of the seven, we stayed with him. Now this man had four virgin daughters who (R)prophesied. 10 And as we were staying there for some days, a prophet named (S)Agabus came down from Judea. 11 And coming to us, he (T)took Paul’s belt and bound his own feet and hands, and said, “This (U)is what the Holy Spirit says: ‘In this way the Jews at Jerusalem will (V)bind the man who owns this belt and (W)deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’” 12 And when we had heard this, we as well as the local residents began begging him (X)not to go up to Jerusalem. 13 Then Paul answered, “What are you doing, crying and breaking my heart? For (Y)I am ready not only to be bound, but even to die at Jerusalem for (Z)the name of the Lord Jesus.” 14 And since he would not be persuaded, we fell silent, saying, “(AA)The will of the Lord be done!”

Luke 5:12-26

Jesus Heals a Leper

12 (A)And it happened that while He was in one of the cities, behold, there was a man [a]covered with leprosy; and when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and begged Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” 13 And He stretched out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” And immediately the leprosy left him. 14 And He directed him to tell no one, “But go and (B)show yourself to the priest and make an offering for your cleansing, just as Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.” 15 But (C)the news about Him was spreading even farther, and large crowds were gathering to hear Him and to be healed of their sicknesses. 16 But He Himself would often slip away [b]to the desolate regions and (D)pray.

Jesus Heals a Paralytic

17 And it happened that [c]one day He was teaching; and (E)there were some Pharisees and (F)teachers of the law sitting there, who had (G)come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem, and (H)the power of the Lord was present for Him to perform healing. 18 (I)And behold, some men were carrying on a stretcher a man who was paralyzed; and they were trying to bring him in and to set him down before Him. 19 But not finding any way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on (J)the roof and let him down (K)through the tiles with his stretcher, into the middle of the crowd, in front of Jesus. 20 And seeing their faith, He said, [d]Friend, (L)your sins are forgiven you.” 21 The scribes and the Pharisees (M)began to reason, saying, “(N)Who is this who speaks blasphemies? (O)Who can forgive sins, but God alone?” 22 But Jesus, [e]knowing their reasonings, answered and said to them, “Why are you reasoning in your hearts? 23 Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins have been forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? 24 But, so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,”—He said to the (P)paralytic—“I say to you, get up, and, picking up your stretcher, go home.” 25 And immediately he rose up before them, and picked up what he had been lying on, and went home (Q)glorifying God. 26 And astonishment seized them all and they began (R)glorifying God; and they were filled (S)with fear, saying, “We have seen remarkable things today.”
