Psalm 132

Prayer for the Lord’s Blessing upon the Sanctuary.

A Song of Ascents.

132 Remember, O Lord, on David’s behalf,
All (A)his affliction;
How he swore to the Lord
And vowed to (B)the Mighty One of Jacob,
“Surely I will not [a]enter (C)my house,
Nor [b]lie on my bed;
I will not (D)give sleep to my eyes
Or slumber to my eyelids,
Until I find a (E)place for the Lord,
[c]A dwelling place for (F)the Mighty One of Jacob.”

Behold, we heard of it in (G)Ephrathah,
We found it in the (H)field of [d]Jaar.
Let us go into His [e](I)dwelling place;
Let us (J)worship at His (K)footstool.
(L)Arise, O Lord, to Your (M)resting place,
You and the ark of Your (N)strength.
Let Your priests be (O)clothed with righteousness,
And let Your (P)godly ones sing for joy.

10 For the sake of David Your servant,
Do not turn away the face of Your (Q)anointed.
11 The Lord has (R)sworn to David
A truth from which He will not turn back:
(S)Of the fruit of your body I will set upon your throne.
12 “If your sons will keep My covenant
And My testimony which I will teach them,
Their sons also shall (T)sit upon your throne forever.”

13 For the Lord has (U)chosen Zion;
He has (V)desired it for His habitation.
14 “This is My (W)resting place forever;
Here I will (X)dwell, for I have desired it.
15 “I will abundantly (Y)bless her provision;
I will (Z)satisfy her needy with bread.
16 “Her (AA)priests also I will clothe with salvation,
And her (AB)godly ones will sing aloud for joy.
17 “There I will cause the (AC)horn of David to spring forth;
I have prepared a (AD)lamp for Mine anointed.
18 “His enemies I will (AE)clothe with shame,
But upon himself his (AF)crown shall shine.”

Isaiah 11:1-10

Righteous Reign of the Branch

11 Then a (A)shoot will spring from the (B)stem of Jesse,
And a (C)branch from (D)his roots will bear fruit.
The (E)Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him,
The spirit of (F)wisdom and understanding,
The spirit of counsel and (G)strength,
The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
And He will delight in the fear of the Lord,
And He will not judge by what His eyes (H)see,
Nor make a decision by what His ears hear;
But with (I)righteousness He will judge the (J)poor,
And decide with fairness for the (K)afflicted of the earth;
And He will strike the earth with the (L)rod of His mouth,
And with the (M)breath of His lips He will slay the wicked.
Also (N)righteousness will be the belt about His loins,
And (O)faithfulness the belt about His waist.

And the (P)wolf will dwell with the lamb,
And the leopard will lie down with the young goat,
And the calf and the young lion [a]and the fatling together;
And a little boy will lead them.
Also the cow and the bear will graze,
Their young will lie down together,
And the (Q)lion will eat straw like the ox.
The nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra,
And the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den.
They will (R)not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain,
For the (S)earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord
As the waters cover the sea.

10 Then in that day
The (T)nations will resort to the (U)root of Jesse,
Who will stand as a [b](V)signal for the peoples;
And His (W)resting place will be [c]glorious.

Hebrews 2:11-18

11 For both He who (A)sanctifies and those who (B)are [a]sanctified are all (C)from one Father; for which reason He is not ashamed to call them (D)brethren, 12 saying,

(E)I will proclaim Your name to My brethren,
In the midst of the congregation I will sing Your praise.”

13 And again,

(F)I will put My trust in Him.”

And again,

(G)Behold, I and the children whom God has given Me.”

14 Therefore, since the children share in [b](H)flesh and blood, (I)He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that (J)through death He might render powerless (K)him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and might free those who through (L)fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. 16 For assuredly He does not [c]give help to angels, but He gives help to the [d]descendant of Abraham. 17 Therefore, He [e]had (M)to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might (N)become a merciful and faithful (O)high priest in (P)things pertaining to God, to (Q)make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18 For since He Himself was (R)tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.
