Psalm 25

Prayer for protection, guidance, and pardon.

A Psalm of David.

25 Unto thee, O Jehovah, do I lift up my soul.
O my God, in thee have I trusted,
Let me not be put to shame;
Let not mine enemies triumph over me.
Yea, none that wait for thee shall be put to shame:
They shall be put to shame that deal treacherously without cause.
Show me thy ways, O Jehovah;
Teach me thy paths.
Guide me in thy truth, and teach me;
For thou art the God of my salvation;
For thee do I wait all the day.
Remember, O Jehovah, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindness;
For they have been ever of old.
Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions:
According to thy lovingkindness remember thou me,
For thy goodness’ sake, O Jehovah.
Good and upright is Jehovah:
Therefore will he instruct sinners in the way.
The meek will he guide in justice;
And the meek will he teach his way.
10 All the paths of Jehovah are lovingkindness and truth
Unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
11 For thy name’s sake, O Jehovah,
Pardon mine iniquity, for it is great.
12 What man is he that feareth Jehovah?
Him shall he instruct in the way that he shall choose.
13 His soul shall dwell at ease;
And his seed shall inherit the land.
14 The [a]friendship of Jehovah is with them that fear him;
[b]And he will show them his covenant.
15 Mine eyes are ever toward Jehovah;
For he will pluck my feet out of the net.
16 Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me;
For I am desolate and afflicted.
17 The troubles of my heart [c]are enlarged:
Oh bring thou me out of my distresses.
18 Consider mine affliction and my travail;
And forgive all my sins.
19 Consider mine enemies, for they are many;
And they hate me with cruel hatred.
20 Oh keep my soul, and deliver me:
Let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in thee.
21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me,
For I wait for thee.
22 Redeem Israel, O God,
Out of all his troubles.

Psalm 9

A psalm of thanksgiving for God’s justice.

For the Chief Musician; set to Muth-labben. A Psalm of David.

I will give thanks unto Jehovah with my whole heart;
I will show forth all thy marvellous works.
I will be glad and exult in thee;
I will sing praise to thy name, O thou [a]Most High.
When mine enemies turn back,
They stumble and perish at thy presence.
For thou hast maintained my right and my cause;
Thou sittest in the throne judging righteously.
Thou hast rebuked the [b]nations, thou hast destroyed the wicked;
Thou hast blotted out their name for ever and ever.
[c]The enemy are come to an end, they are desolate for ever;
[d]And the cities which thou hast [e]overthrown,
The very remembrance of them is perished.
But Jehovah sitteth as king for ever:
He hath prepared his throne for judgment;
And he will judge the world in righteousness,
He will minister judgment to the [f]peoples in uprightness.
Jehovah also will be a high tower for the oppressed,
A high tower in times of trouble;
10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee;
For thou, Jehovah, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.
11 Sing praises to Jehovah, who dwelleth in Zion:
Declare among the [g]people his doings.
12 [h]For he that maketh inquisition for blood remembereth them;
He forgetteth not the cry of the [i]poor.
13 Have mercy upon me, O Jehovah;
Behold my affliction which I suffer of them that hate me,
Thou that liftest me up from the gates of death;
14 That I may show forth all thy praise.
In the gates of the daughter of Zion
I will rejoice in thy [j]salvation.
15 The nations are sunk down in the pit that they made:
In the net which they hid is their own foot taken.
16 Jehovah hath made himself known, he hath executed judgment:
[k]The wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah
17 The wicked shall be turned back unto Sheol,
Even all the nations that forget God.
18 For the needy shall not alway be forgotten,
Nor the expectation of the [l]poor perish for ever.
19 Arise, O Jehovah; let not man prevail:
Let the nations be judged in thy sight.
20 Put them in fear, O Jehovah:
Let the nations know themselves to be but men. Selah

Psalm 15

Description of a citizen of Zion.

A Psalm of David.

15 Jehovah, who shall sojourn in thy [a]tabernacle?
Who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness,
And speaketh truth in his heart;
[b]He that slandereth not with his tongue,
Nor doeth evil to his friend,
Nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbor;
In [c]whose eyes a reprobate is despised,
But [d]who honoreth them that fear Jehovah;
[e]He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not;
[f]He that putteth not out his money to interest,
Nor taketh reward against the innocent.
He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

Amos 7:1-9

Thus the Lord Jehovah showed me: and, behold, he formed locusts in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, lo, it was the latter growth after the king’s mowings. And it came to pass that, when they made an end of eating the grass of the land, then I said, O Lord Jehovah, forgive, I beseech thee: how shall Jacob stand? for he is small. Jehovah repented concerning this: It shall not be, saith Jehovah.

Thus the Lord Jehovah showed me: and, behold, the Lord Jehovah called to contend by fire; and it devoured the great deep, and would have eaten up the [a]land. Then said I, O Lord Jehovah, cease, I beseech thee: how shall Jacob stand? for he is small. Jehovah repented concerning this: This also shall not be, saith the Lord Jehovah.

Thus he showed me: and, behold, the Lord stood [b]beside a wall made by a plumb-line, with a plumb-line in his hand. And Jehovah said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumb-line. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumb-line in the midst of my people Israel; I will not again pass by them any more; and the high places of Isaac shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.

Revelation 1:1-8

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God [a]gave him to show unto his [b]servants, even the things which must shortly come to pass: and he sent and signified [c]it by his angel unto his servant John; who bare witness of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, even of all things that he saw. Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things that are written therein: for the time is at hand.

John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace, from him [d]who is and who was and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits that are before his throne; and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loveth us, and [e]loosed us from our sins [f]by his blood; and he made us to be a kingdom, to be priests unto [g]his God and Father; to him be the glory and the dominion [h]for ever and ever. Amen. Behold, he cometh with the clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they that pierced him; and all the tribes of the earth shall mourn over him. Even so, Amen.

I am the Alpha and the Omega, saith the Lord God, [i]who is and who was and [j]who is to come, the Almighty.

Matthew 22:23-33

23 On that day there came to him Sadducees, [a]they that say that there is no resurrection: and they asked him, 24 saying, Teacher, Moses said, [b]If a man die, having no children, his brother [c]shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. 25 Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first married and deceased, and having no seed left his wife unto his brother; 26 in like manner the second also, and the third, unto the [d]seventh. 27 And after them all, the woman died. 28 In the resurrection therefore whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her. 29 But Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as angels [e]in heaven. 31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, 32 [f]I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. 33 And when the multitudes heard it, they were astonished at his teaching.
