Revelation 17:1-14

He describes the woman sitting upon the beast with ten horns.

17 And there came one of the seven angels who had the seven vials, and he talked with me, saying to me, Come, I will show you the judgment of the great whore that sits upon many waters, with whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, so that the inhabiters of the earth are drunk with the wine of her fornication.

And he carried me away into the wilderness in the Spirit. And I saw a woman sitting upon a rose-coloured beast full of names of blasphemy, which had ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and rose colour, and decked with gold, precious stones, and pearls, and had a cup of gold in her hand full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication. And in her forehead a name was written: a mystery – great babylon, the mother of whoredom and of the abominations of the earth. And I saw the wife drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. And when I saw her, I wondered with great marvel.

And the angel said to me, Why do you marvel? I will show you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that bears her, which has seven heads and ten horns. The beast that you see was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit, and will go into perdition. And they who dwell on the earth (whose names are not written in the book of life from the beginning of the world) will marvel when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

And here is a mind that has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits. 10 They are also seven kings. Five are fallen, and one is, and another is not yet come. When he comes, he must continue a space. 11 And the beast that was and is not, is even the eighth, and is of the seven, and will go into destruction.

12 And the ten horns that you see are ten kings who have received no kingdom, but shall receive power as kings at one hour with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and will give their power and strength to the beast. 14 These will fight with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings. And those who are on his side are called and chosen and faithful.

Matthew 14:22-36

22 Directly after, Jesus got his disciples to get into a boat, and to go over before him while he sent the people away. 23 And as soon as he had sent the people away, he went up into a mountain alone to pray. And when night was come, he was there himself alone. 24 And the boat was now in the middle of the sea, and was tossed with waves, for it was a contrary wind.

25 In the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when his disciples saw him walking on the water, they were troubled, saying, It is some spirit! And they cried out for fear. 27 And straightaway Jesus spoke to them, saying, Be of good cheer, it is I. Be not afraid. 28 Peter answered him and said, Master, if it is you, get me to come to you on the water. 29 And he said, Come!

And when Peter had gone down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw a mighty wind, he was afraid. And as he began to sink he cried out, saying, Master, save me! 31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand and caught him, and said to him, O you of little faith, why did you doubt? 32 And as soon as they were in the boat, the wind ceased. 33 Then the men in the boat came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth, you are the Son of God.

34 And when they had crossed over, they went into the land of Gennesaret. 35 When the men of that place learned of him, they sent out into all the area round about, and brought to him all that were sick, 36 and asked him if they might touch the hem of his vesture only. And as many as touched it were made well.
