Book of Common Prayer
103 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me! Praise His Holy Name!
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits!
3 Who forgives all your iniquity and heals all your infirmities.
4 Who redeems your life from the grave and crowns you with mercy and compassions.
5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things; and your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
6 The LORD executes righteousness and judgment for all who are oppressed.
7 He made His ways known to Moses and His works to the children of Israel.
8 The LORD is full of compassion and mercy, slow to anger and of great kindness.
9 He will not always strive with us; nor will He keep His anger forever.
10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heaven is above the Earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him.
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our sins from us.
13 As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.
14 For He knows whereof we are made. He remembers that we are dust.
15 The days of man are as grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
16 For the wind goes over it and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
17 But the lovingkindness of the LORD endures forever and ever upon those who fear Him, and His righteousness upon children’s children
18 to those who keep His Covenant and remember His Commandments, to do them.
19 The LORD has prepared His throne in Heaven, and His Kingdom rules over all.
20 Praise the LORD, His angels, who excel in strength! Who do His Commandment in obeying the voice of His word!
21 Praise the LORD, all His hosts; His servants who do His pleasure!
22 Praise the LORD, all His works in all places of His dominion! My soul, praise the LORD!
148 Praise the LORD from the heavens! Praise Him in the high places!
2 Praise Him, all His angels! Praise Him, all His army!
3 Praise Him, Sun and Moon! Praise Him, all bright stars!
4 Praise Him, you heavens of heavens, and waters above the heavens!
5 Let them praise the Name of the LORD; for He commanded, and they were created.
6 And He has established them forever and ever. He has made an ordinance which shall not pass.
7 Praise the LORD from the Earth, you dragons and all depths:
8 fire and hail, snow and vapors, stormy wind — which execute His Word —
9 mountains and all hills, fruitful trees, and all cedars,10 beasts and all cattle, creeping things and feathered birds,
11 kings of the Earth and all people, princes and all judges of the world,
12 young men and maidens, also old men and children.
13 Let them praise the Name of the LORD; for only His Name is to be exalted. His praise is above the Earth and the heavens.
14 For He has exalted the horn of His people — a praise for all His saints, for the children of Israel — a people that is near to Him. Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD.
17 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said to him, “I am God, all sufficient. Walk before me and be upright.
2 “And I will make My Covenant between Me and you; and I will multiply you exceedingly.”
3 Then Abram fell on his face; and God talked with him, saying,
4 “Behold, I make My Covenant with you; and you shall be a father of many nations.
5 “Nor shall your name be called Abram anymore; but your name shall be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.
6 “Also, I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and will make nations from you. Indeed, kings shall proceed from you.
7 “Moreover, I will establish My Covenant between Me and you and your seed after you (in their generations, for an everlasting Covenant), to be God to you and to your seed after you.
8 “And I will give you the land wherein you are a stranger, to you and your seed after you, all the land of Canaan for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”
9 Again, God said to Abraham, “You also shall keep My Covenant, you and your seed after you, in their generations.
10 “This is My Covenant which you shall keep between Me and you and your seed after you: Let every male child among you be circumcised.
11 “That is, you shall circumcise the foreskin of your flesh; and it shall be a sign of the Covenant between Me and you.
12 “And every male child among you of eight days old shall be circumcised in your generations, as well he who is born in your house (such as he who was bought with money from any stranger; who is not of your seed).
15 Afterward, God said to Abraham, “Sarai, your wife, you shall not call ‘Sarai’; but ‘Sarah’ shall be her name.
16 “And I will bless her and will also give you a son by her. Indeed, I will bless her; and she shall be the mother of nations. Kings of people shall come from her.”
6 Therefore, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him;
7 being rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith as you have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
8 Beware, lest anyone spoil you through philosophy and empty deceit according to the traditions of man, according to the principles of the world and not according to Christ.
9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead, bodily.
10 And you are complete in Him Who is the Head of all principality and power.
11 In Him also are you circumcised, with circumcision made without hands, by putting off the sinful body of the flesh through the circumcision of Christ,
12 buried with Him in baptism (in which you are also risen with Him through the faith of the working of God, Who raised Him from the dead).
23 “And on that day you shall ask nothing of Me. Truly, truly I say to you, whatever you shall ask the Father in My Name, He will give it to you.
24 “Until now, you have asked nothing in My Name. Ask, and you shall receive; so that your joy may be full.
25 “These things I have spoken to you in parables. But the time will come when I shall speak to you in parables no more. But I shall report to you plainly concerning the Father.
26 On that day, you shall ask in My Name. And I do not say to you that I will pray to the Father for you.
27 “For the Father Himself loves you because you have loved Me and have believed that I came out from God.
28 “I came out from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.”
29 His disciples said to Him, “Lo, now You speak plainly. And You speak no parable.
30 “Now we know that You know all things and have no need that anyone should question You. By this we believe that You have come out from God.”
