Psalm 72

72 1 He prayeth for the prosperous estate of the kingdom of Solomon, who was the figure of Christ, 4 under whom shall be righteousness, peace, and felicity. 10 Unto whom all Kings and nations shall do homage, 17 Whose name and power shall endure forever, and in whom all nations shall be blessed.

A Psalm [a]of Solomon.

Give thy [b]judgments to the King, O God, and thy righteousness to the King’s [c]son.

Then shall he judge thy people in righteousness, and thy poor with equity.

The [d]mountains, and the hills shall bring peace to the people by justice.

He shall [e]judge the poor of the people: he shall save the children of the needy, and shall subdue the oppressor.

They shall [f]fear thee as long as the sun and moon endureth, from generation to generation.

He shall come [g]down like the rain upon the mown grass, and as the showers that water the earth.

In his days shall the righteous flourish, and abundance of peace shall be so long as the moon endureth.

His dominion shall be also from [h]sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the land.

They that dwell in the wilderness, shall kneel before him, and his enemies shall lick the dust.

10 The kings of [i]Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings [j]of Sheba and Seba shall bring gifts.

11 Yea, all kings shall worship him: all nations shall serve him.

12 For he shall deliver the poor when he crieth: the needy also, and him that hath no helper.

13 He shall be merciful to the poor and needy, and shall preserve the souls of the poor.

14 He shall redeem their souls from deceit and violence, and [k]dear shall their blood be in his sight.

15 Yea, he shall live, and unto him shall they give of the [l]gold of Sheba: they shall also pray for him continually, and daily bless him.

16 An handful of corn shall be sown in the earth, even in the top of the mountains, and the [m]fruit thereof shalt shake like the trees of Lebanon: and the children shall flourish out of the city like the grass of the earth.

17 His name shall be forever: his name shall endure as long as the Sun: all nations shall bless [n]him, and be blessed in him.

18 Blessed be the Lord God, even the God of Israel which only doeth [o]wondrous things.

19 And blessed be his glorious Name forever: and let all the earth be filled with his glory. So be it, even so be it.

[20] Here end the [p]prayers of David the son of Jesse.

Psalm 111

111 1 He giveth thanks to the Lord for his merciful works toward his Church, 10 and declareth wherein true wisdom and right knowledge consisteth.

Praise ye the Lord.

I will [a]praise the Lord with my whole heart in the assembly and the congregation of the just.

The works of the Lord are [b]great, and ought to be sought out of all them that love them.

His work is beautiful and glorious, and his righteousness endureth forever.

He hath made his wonderful works to be had in remembrance: the Lord is merciful and full of compassion.

He hath given [c]a [d]portion unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.

He hath showed to his people the power of his works, in giving unto them the heritage of the heathen.

The [e]works of his hands are truth and judgment: all his statutes are true.

They are established forever and ever, and are done in truth and equity.

He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant forever: holy and fearful is his Name.

10 [f]The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord: all they that observe [g]them, have good understanding: his praise endureth forever.

Psalm 113

113 1 An exhortation to praise the Lord for his providence 7 in that that contrary to the course of nature he worketh in his Church.

Praise ye the Lord.

Praise, O ye servants of the Lord, [a]praise the Name of the Lord.

Blessed be the Name of the Lord from henceforth and forever.

The Lord’s Name is praised from the rising of the sun, unto the going down of the same.

The Lord is high above all [b]nations, and his glory above the heavens.

Who is like unto the Lord our God, that hath his dwelling on high.

Who abaseth himself to behold things in the heavens and in the earth!

He raiseth the needy out of the dust, and lifteth up the [c]poor out of the dung,

That he may set him with the princes, even with the princes of his people.

He maketh the barren woman to dwell with a family, and a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the Lord.

Isaiah 28:9-22

[a]Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand the things that he heareth? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

10 For [b]precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line unto line, line unto line, there a little, and there a little.

11 For with a stammering [c]tongue, and with a strange language shall he speak unto this people.

12 Unto whom [d]he said, [e]This is the rest: [f]give rest unto him that is weary, and this is the refreshing, but they would not hear.

13 Therefore shall the word of the [g]Lord be unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line unto line, line unto line, there a little and there a little: that they may go and fall backward, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.

14 Wherefore hear the word of the Lord, ye scornful men, that rule this people, which is at Jerusalem.

15 Because ye have said, We have made a [h]covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement: though a scourge run over, and pass through, it shall not come at us: for we have made [i]falsehood our refuge, and under vanity are we hid,

16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I will lay in Zion a stone, a [j]tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation. He that believeth, [k]shall not make haste.

17 Judgment also will I lay to the rule, and [l]righteousness to the balance, and the [m]hail shall sweep away the vain confidence, and the waters shall overflow [n]the secret place.

18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand: when a scourge shall run over and pass through, then shall ye be trodden down by it.

19 When it passeth over, it shall take you away: for it shall pass through every morning in the day and in the night, and there shall be only [o]fear, to make you to understand the hearing.

20 For the bed is [p]strait, that it cannot suffice, and the covering narrow, that one cannot wrap himself.

21 For the Lord shall stand as in mount [q]Perazim: he shall be wroth as in the valley [r]of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work, and bring to pass his act, his strange act.

22 Now therefore be no mockers, lest your bonds increase: for I have heard of the Lord of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.

Revelation 21:9-21

[a]And there came unto me one of the seven Angels, which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come: I will show thee the bride the Lamb’s wife.

10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and [b]an high mountain, and he showed me [c]that great city, that holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

11 Having the glory of God, and her shining was like unto a stone most precious, as a jasper stone clear as crystal,

12 [d]And had a great wall and high, and had [e]twelve gates, and at the gates [f]twelve Angels, and the names written which are the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.

13 On the East part there were three gates, and on the North side three gates, on the South side three gates, and on the West side three gates.

14 And the wall of the city had [g]twelve foundations, and in them the names of the Lamb’s twelve Apostles.

15 [h]And he that walked with me, had a golden reed, to measure the city withal, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.

16 [i]And the city lay [j]foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth of it, and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs: and the length, and the breadth, and the height of it are equal.

17 And he measured the wall thereof an hundred forty and four cubits, by the measure of man, that is, of the [k]Angel.

18 [l]And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.

19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones: the first foundation was jasper: the second of Sapphire: the third of a Chalcedony: the fourth of an Emerald:

20 The fifth of a Sardonyx: the sixth of a Sardius: the seventh of a Chrysolite: the eight of a Beryl: the ninth of a Topaz: the tenth of a Chrysoprase: the eleventh of a Jacinth: the twelfth an Amethyst.

21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, and every gate is of one pearl, and the [m]street of the city is pure gold, as shining glass.

Luke 1:26-38

26 [a]And in the sixth month, the Angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,

27 (A)To a virgin affianced to a man whose name was Joseph, of the [b]house of David, and the virgin’s name was Mary.

28 And the Angel went in unto her, and said, Hail thou that art [c]freely beloved: the Lord is with thee: [d]blessed art thou among women.

29 And when she saw him, she was [e]troubled at his saying, and thought what manner of salutation that should be.

30 Then the Angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast [f]found favor with God.

31 (B)For lo thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bear a son, (C)and shalt call his Name Jesus.

32 He shall be great, and shall be [g]called the Son of the most High, and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David.

33 (D)And he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom shall be none end.

34 Then said Mary unto the Angel, [h]How shall this be, seeing [i]I know not man?

35 And the Angel answered, and said unto her, The holy Ghost [j]shall come upon thee, and the power of the most High shall overshadow thee: therefore also that [k]Holy thing which shall be born of thee, shall be [l]called the Son of God.

36 And behold, thy [m]cousin, Elizabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is her [n]sixth month, which was called barren.

37 For with God shall nothing be impossible.

38 Then Mary said, Behold the servant of the Lord: be it unto me according to thy word. So the Angel departed from her.
