Acts 13:44-52

44 And the next Sabbath day, almost the whole city came together to hear the word of God.

45 When the Jews saw the people, they were full of indignation and spoke against those things that were said by Paul, contradicting and railing on it. 46 Then Paul and Barnabas were bold and said, It was fitting that the word of God should first have been preached to you. But seeing you put it from you, and think yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. 47 For so has the Lord commanded us: I have made you a light to the Gentiles, to be salvation to the end of the world.

48 The Gentiles heard and were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord and believed – even as many as were appointed to eternal life. 49 And the word of the Lord went abroad throughout all the region.

50 But the Jews moved the devout and honourable women and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their district. 51 And they shook off the dust from their feet against them, and went to Iconium. 52 And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.

John 10:19-30

19 And there was dissension again among the Jews because of these sayings, 20 and many of them said, He has a devil, and is mad. Why do you listen to him? 21 Others said, These are not the words of a man that has a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?

22 And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the Dedication, 23 and it was winter. And Jesus walked in Solomon’s porch. 24 Then the Jews came round about him and said to him, How long are you going to keep us in doubt? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.

25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me. 26 But you do not believe, because you are not of my sheep. 27 As I said to you, my sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me, 28 and I give to them eternal life. And they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father who gave them to me is greater than all, and no one is able to take them out of my Father’s hand. 30 And I and my Father are one.
