Book of Common Prayer
Yahweh’s Lovingkindness Prevails
117 (A)Praise Yahweh, all nations;
Laud Him, all peoples!
2 For His (B)lovingkindness prevails over us,
And the [a](C)truth of Yahweh is everlasting.
[b]Praise Yah!
Yahweh’s Lovingkindness Endures Forever
118 (D)Give thanks to Yahweh, for (E)He is good;
For His lovingkindness endures forever.
2 Oh let (F)Israel say,
“His lovingkindness endures forever.”
3 Oh let the (G)house of Aaron say,
“His lovingkindness endures forever.”
4 Oh let those (H)who [c]fear Yahweh say,
“His lovingkindness endures forever.”
5 From my (I)distress I called upon Yah;
Yah answered me and (J)set me in a large place.
6 Yahweh is (K)for me; I will (L)not fear;
(M)What can man do to me?
7 Yahweh is for me (N)among those who help me;
Therefore I will (O)look in triumph on those who hate me.
8 It is (P)better to take refuge in Yahweh
Than to trust in man.
9 It is (Q)better to take refuge in Yahweh
Than to trust in nobles.
10 All nations (R)surrounded me;
In the name of Yahweh I will surely (S)cut them off.
11 They (T)surrounded me, indeed, they surrounded me;
In the name of Yahweh I will surely cut them off.
12 They surrounded me (U)like bees;
They were extinguished as a (V)fire of thorns;
In the name of Yahweh I will surely cut them off.
13 You (W)pushed me down violently to make me fall,
But Yahweh (X)helped me.
14 (Y)Yah is my strength and song,
And He has become (Z)my salvation.
15 The sound of (AA)joyful shouting and salvation is in the tents of the righteous;
The (AB)right hand of Yahweh does valiantly.
16 The (AC)right hand of Yahweh is exalted;
The right hand of Yahweh does valiantly.
17 I (AD)will not die; indeed I will live,
And (AE)recount the works of Yah.
18 Yah has (AF)disciplined me severely,
But He has (AG)not given me over to death.
19 (AH)Open to me the gates of righteousness;
I shall enter through them, I shall give thanks to Yah.
20 This is the gate of Yahweh;
The (AI)righteous will enter through it.
21 I shall give thanks to You, for You have (AJ)answered me,
And You have (AK)become my salvation.
22 The (AL)stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief corner stone.
23 This is from Yahweh;
It is marvelous in our eyes.
24 This is the day which Yahweh has made;
Let us (AM)rejoice and be glad in it.
25 O Yahweh, (AN)save!
O Yahweh, (AO)succeed!
26 (AP)Blessed is the one who comes in the name of Yahweh;
We have (AQ)blessed you from the house of Yahweh.
27 (AR)Yahweh is God, and He has given us (AS)light;
Bind the festival sacrifice with cords [d]to the (AT)horns of the altar.
28 (AU)You are my God, and I give thanks to You;
You are my God, (AV)I exalt You.
29 (AW)Give thanks to Yahweh, for He is good;
For His lovingkindness endures forever.

Who Is like Yahweh Our God?
113 [i]Praise Yah!
(Y)Praise, O (Z)slaves of Yahweh,
Praise the name of Yahweh.
2 (AA)May the name of Yahweh be blessed
From now until forever.
3 (AB)From the rising of the sun to its setting
The (AC)name of Yahweh is to be praised.
4 Yahweh is (AD)high above all nations;
His (AE)glory is above the heavens.
5 (AF)Who is like Yahweh our God,
The One who (AG)sits on high,
6 The One who [j](AH)brings Himself low to see
The things in heaven and on the earth?
7 Who (AI)raises the poor from the dust
And lifts high the needy from the ash heap,
8 To make them (AJ)sit with [k]nobles,
With the [l]nobles of His people.
9 He (AK)makes the barren woman of the house sit
As a glad mother of children.
[m]Praise Yah!
Water from the Rock
17 Then all the congregation of the sons of Israel journeyed by [a]stages from the wilderness of (A)Sin, according to the [b]command of Yahweh, and they camped at (B)Rephidim, and there was no water for the people to drink. 2 Therefore the people (C)contended with Moses and said, “Give us water that we may drink.” And Moses said to them, “(D)Why do you contend with me? (E)Why do you test Yahweh?” 3 But the people thirsted there for water; and [c]they (F)grumbled against Moses and said, “Why, now, have you brought us up from Egypt, to put [d]us and [e]our children and [f](G)our livestock to death with thirst?” 4 So Moses cried out to Yahweh, saying, “What shall I do to this people? A (H)little more and they will stone me.” 5 Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Pass before the people and take with you some of (I)the elders of Israel; and take in your hand your staff with which (J)you struck the Nile, and go. 6 Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock at (K)Horeb; and (L)you shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink.” And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. 7 So he named the place [g](M)Massah and [h](N)Meribah because of the contending of the sons of Israel, and because they (O)tested Yahweh, saying, “Is Yahweh among us or not?”
The Firstborn of All Creation
15 [a]Who is the (A)image of the (B)invisible God, the (C)firstborn of all creation.
16 For [b](D)in Him all things were created, (E)both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether (F)thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—(G)all things have been created through Him and for Him.
17 And He [c](H)is before all things,
And in Him all things [d]hold together.
18 And He is the (I)head of (J)the body, the church;
Who is (K)the beginning, (L)the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.
19 For in Him [e]all (M)the fullness of God (N)was pleased to dwell,
20 And through Him to (O)reconcile all things to Himself, having made (P)peace through (Q)the blood of His cross—through Him—(R)whether things on earth or things in [f]heaven.
21 And although you were (S)formerly alienated and enemies in mind and in evil deeds, 22 but now He (T)reconciled you in the (U)body of His flesh through death, in order to (V)present you before Him (W)holy and blameless and beyond reproach— 23 if indeed you continue in [g]the faith firmly (X)grounded and steadfast, and not moved away from the (Y)hope of the gospel, which you have heard, which was proclaimed (Z)in all creation under heaven, (AA)and of which I, Paul, [h]was made a [i](AB)minister.
37 Now on (A)the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “[a](B)If anyone is thirsty, [b]let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, (C)as the Scripture said, ‘From [c]his innermost being will flow rivers of (D)living water.’” 39 But this He spoke (E)of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were going to receive; for (F)the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet (G)glorified.
Division of People over Jesus
40 Some of the crowd therefore, when they heard these words, were saying, “This truly is (H)the Prophet.” 41 Others were saying, “This is the [d]Christ.” Still others were saying, “(I)No, for is the [e]Christ going to come from Galilee? 42 Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from (J)the seed of David and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?” 43 So (K)a division occurred in the crowd because of Him. 44 (L)Some of them were wanting to seize Him, but no one laid hands on Him.
45 The (M)officers then came to the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, “Why did you not bring Him?” 46 The (N)officers answered, “(O)Never has a man spoken like this!” 47 The Pharisees then answered them, “(P)Have you also been led astray? 48 (Q)Have any of (R)the rulers or Pharisees believed in Him? 49 But this crowd which does not know the Law is accursed.” 50 (S)Nicodemus (he who came to Him before), being one of them, *said to them, 51 “(T)Does our Law judge a man unless it first hears from him and knows what he is doing?” 52 They answered him, “(U)Are you also from Galilee? Search and see that no prophet arises out of Galilee.”
