Psalm 112

1 Hallelujah![c]
Happy is the person who fears the Lord,
taking great delight in his commands.(Q)
2 His descendants will be powerful in the land;
the generation of the upright will be blessed.(R)
3 Wealth and riches are in his house,(S)
and his righteousness endures forever.(T)
4 Light shines in the darkness for the upright.(U)
He is gracious, compassionate, and righteous.(V)

8 His heart is assured; he will not fear.(AA)
In the end he will look in triumph on his foes.(AB)
9 He distributes freely to the poor;
his righteousness endures forever.(AC)
His horn will be exalted in honor.(AD)
32 And what more can I say? Time is too short for me to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah,(A) David, Samuel, and the prophets,(B) 33 who by faith conquered kingdoms,(C) administered justice, obtained promises, shut the mouths of lions,(D) 34 quenched the raging of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, gained strength in weakness, became mighty in battle, and put foreign armies to flight.(E) 35 Women received their dead, raised to life again. Other people were tortured, not accepting release, so that they might gain a better resurrection. 36 Others experienced mockings and scourgings, as well as bonds and imprisonment.(F) 37 They were stoned,[a](G) they were sawed in two, they died by the sword, they wandered about in sheepskins, in goatskins,(H) destitute, afflicted, and mistreated. 38 The world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and on mountains, hiding in caves and holes in the ground.
39 All these were approved through their faith, but they did not receive what was promised, 40 since God had provided something better for us, so that they would not be made perfect without us.(I)
The Call to Endurance
12 Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses(J) surrounding us, let us lay aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance(K) the race that lies before us, 2 keeping our eyes on Jesus,[b] the pioneer and perfecter[c] of our faith. For the joy that lay before him,[d] he endured the cross, despising the shame,(L) and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Psalm 148
Creation’s Praise of the Lord
1 Hallelujah!
Praise the Lord from the heavens;
praise him in the heights.(A)
2 Praise him, all his angels;
praise him, all his heavenly armies.(B)
3 Praise him, sun and moon;
praise him, all you shining stars.(C)
4 Praise him, highest heavens,
and you waters above the heavens.(D)
5 Let them praise the name of the Lord,
for he commanded, and they were created.(E)
6 He set them in position forever and ever;
he gave an order that will never pass away.(F)
7 Praise the Lord from the earth,
all sea monsters and ocean depths,(G)
8 lightning[a] and hail, snow and cloud,
stormy wind that executes his command,(H)
9 mountains and all hills,
fruit trees and all cedars,(I)
10 wild animals and all cattle,
creatures that crawl and flying birds,(J)
11 kings of the earth and all peoples,
princes and all judges of the earth,(K)
12 young men as well as young women,
old and young together.(L)
13 Let them praise the name of the Lord,
for his name alone is exalted.
His majesty covers heaven and earth.(M)
14 He has raised up a horn for his people,
resulting in praise to all his faithful ones,
to the Israelites, the people close to him.(N)
Hallelujah!
Psalm 150

Praise him in his mighty expanse.(A)
2 Praise him for his powerful acts;(B)
praise him for his abundant greatness.(C)
3 Praise him with the blast of a ram’s horn;(D)
praise him with harp and lyre.(E)
4 Praise him with tambourine and dance;(F)
praise him with strings and flute.(G)
5 Praise him with resounding cymbals;
praise him with clashing cymbals.(H)
6 Let everything that breathes praise the Lord.(I)
Hallelujah!
The New Creation
21 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth;(A) for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away,(B) and the sea was no more.(C) 2 I also saw the holy city,(D) the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,(E) prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.(F)
3 Then I heard a loud voice(G) from the throne:[a](H) Look, God’s dwelling[b] is with humanity, and he will live with them. They will be his peoples,[c](I) and God himself will be with them and will be their God.[d] 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes.(J) Death will be no more;(K) grief, crying, and pain will be no more,(L) because the previous things[e] have passed away.(M)
22 I did not see a temple in it, because the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, because the glory of God illuminates it, and its lamp is the Lamb.(A) 24 The nations will walk by its light,(B) and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it.[a](C) 25 Its gates will never close by day because it will never be night there.(D) 26 They will bring the glory and honor of the nations into it.[b](E) 27 Nothing unclean will ever enter it,(F) nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those written in the Lamb’s book of life.(G)
The Source of Life
22 Then he showed me the river[c] of the water of life,(H) clear as crystal,(I) flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb(J) 2 down the middle of the city’s main street. The tree of life was on each side of the river, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, producing its fruit every month.(K) The leaves of the tree are for healing the nations,(L) 3 and there will no longer be any curse.(M) The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will worship him. 4 They will see his face,(N) and his name will be on their foreheads.(O) 5 Night will be no more;(P) people will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, because the Lord God will give them light,(Q) and they will reign forever and ever.
