Psalm 146-149

146 1 David declareth his great zeal that he hath to praise God. 3 And teacheth, not to trust in man, but only in God Almighty, 7 Which delivereth the afflicted,  9 Defendeth the strangers, comforteth the fatherless, and the widows, 10 And reigneth forever.

Praise ye the Lord.

Praise thou the Lord, O my [a]soul.

I will praise the Lord during my life; as long as I have any being, I will sing unto my God.

Put not your trust in [b]Princes, nor in the son of man, for there is no help in him.

His breath departeth, and he returneth to his earth; then his [c]thoughts perish.

Blessed is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God,

Which made [d]heaven and earth, the sea, and all that therein is; which keepeth his fidelity forever,

Which executeth justice [e]for the oppressed, which giveth bread to the hungry; the Lord looseth the prisoners.

The Lord giveth sight to the blind: the Lord raiseth up the crooked: the Lord [f]loveth the righteous.

The Lord keepeth the [g]strangers: he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but he overthroweth the way of the wicked.

10 The Lord shall [h]reign forever: O Zion, thy God endureth from generation to generation. Praise ye the Lord.

147 1 The Prophet praiseth the bounty, wisdom, power, justice, and providence of God upon all his creatures. 2 But specially upon his Church, which he gathereth together after their dispersion, 19 Declaring his word and judgment so unto them, as he hath done to none other people.

Praise ye the Lord, for it is good to sing unto our God: for it is a [i]pleasant thing, and praise is comely.

The Lord doth build up [j]Jerusalem, and gather together the dispersed of Israel.

He healeth those that are [k]broken in heart, and bindeth up their sores.

He [l]counteth the number of the stars, and calleth them all by their names.

Great is our Lord, and great is his power: his wisdom is infinite.

The Lord relieveth the meek, and abaseth the wicked to the [m]ground.

Sing unto the Lord with praise: sing upon the harp unto our God,

Which [n]covereth the heaven with clouds, and prepareth rain for the earth, and maketh the grass to grow upon the mountains:

Which giveth to beasts their food, and to the young ravens that [o]cry.

10 He hath no pleasure in the [p]strength of an horse, neither delighteth he in the legs of man.

11 But the Lord delighteth in them that fear him, and attend upon his mercy.

12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem: praise thy God, O Zion.

13 For he hath made the bars of the gates [q]strong, and hath blessed thy children within thee.

14 He setteth peace in thy borders, and satisfieth thee with the [r]flour of wheat.

15 He sendeth forth his [s]commandment upon earth, and his word runneth very [t]swiftly.

16 He giveth snow like wool, and scattereth the hoary frost like ashes.

17 He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can abide the cold thereof?

18 He sendeth his word and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

19 He showeth his [u]word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.

20 He hath not dealt so with every nation, neither have they [v]known his judgments. Praise ye the Lord.

148 1 He provoketh all creatures to praise the Lord in heaven and earth, and all places. 14 Specially his Church, for the power that he hath given to the same, after that he had chosen them and joined them unto him.

Praise ye the Lord.

Praise ye the Lord from the heaven: praise ye him in the high places.

Praise ye him, all ye [w]his Angels: praise him, all his army.

Praise ye him, [x]sun and moon: praise ye him all bright stars.

Praise ye him [y]heavens of heavens, and [z]waters, that be above the heavens.

Let them praise the Name of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created.

And he hath established them forever and ever: he hath made an ordinance, which shall not pass.

Praise ye the Lord from the earth, ye [aa]dragons and all depths:

[ab]Fire and hail, snow and vapors, stormy wind, which execute his word.

Mountains and all hills, fruitful trees, and all cedars:

10 Beasts and all cattle, creeping things and feathered fowls:

11 [ac]Kings of the earth and all people, princes and all judges of the world:

12 Young men and maidens, also old men and children:

13 Let them praise the Name of the Lord: for his Name only is to be exalted, and his praise above the earth and the heavens.

14 For he hath exalted the [ad]horn of his people, which is a praise for all his Saints, even for the [ae]children of Israel, a people that is near unto him. Praise ye the Lord.

149 1 An exhortation to the Church to praise the Lord for his victory and conquest, that he giveth his Saints against all man’s power.

Praise ye the Lord.

Sing ye unto the Lord [af]a new song: let his praise be heard in the Congregation of Saints.

Let Israel rejoice in him that [ag]made him, and let the children of Zion rejoice in their [ah]King.

Let them praise his Name with the flute: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

For the Lord hath pleasure in his people: he will make the meek glorious by deliverance.

Let the Saints be joyful with glory: let them sing loud upon their [ai]beds.

Let the high Acts of God be in their mouth, and a two edged sword in their hands,

[aj]To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and corrections among the people:

To bind [ak]their kings in chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron,

That they may execute upon them the judgment that is [al]written: this honor shall be to all his Saints. Praise ye the Lord.

Ezekiel 37:1-14

37 He prophesieth the bringing again of the people, being in captivity. 16 He showeth the union of the ten tribes with the two.

The hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried me out in the Spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the [a]field, which was full of [b]bones:

And he led me round about by them, and behold, they were very many in the open field, and lo, they were very dry.

And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest.

Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.

Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones, Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live.

And I will lay sinews upon you, and make flesh grow upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, that ye may live, and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold, there was a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.

And when I beheld, lo, the sinews, and the flesh grew upon them, and above the skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.

Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind: prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord God, Come from the four [c]winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

10 So I prophesied as he had commanded me: and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

11 Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is gone, and we are clean cut off.

12 Therefore prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God, Behold, my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your sepulchers, and bring you into the land of Israel,

13 And ye shall know that I am the Lord, [d]when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your sepulchers,

14 And shall put my Spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then ye shall know that I the Lord have spoken it, and performed it, saith the Lord.

Acts 3:11-26

11 ¶ And as the cripple which was healed, [a]held Peter and John, all the people ran amazed unto them in the porch which is called Solomon’s.

12 [b]So when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so steadfastly on us, as though by our own power or godliness, we had made this man go?

13 The God of Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, the (A)God of our fathers hath glorified his Son Jesus, whom ye betrayed, and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had judged him to be delivered.

14 But ye denied the Holy one and the just, and desired a murderer to be given you,

15 And killed the Lord [c]of life, whom God hath raised from the dead, whereof we are witnesses.

16 And his Name hath made this man sound, whom ye see and know, through faith in his Name: [d]and the faith which is by him, hath given to him this perfect health of his whole body in the presence of you all.

17 [e]And now brethren, I know that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your governors.

18 But those things, which God before had showed [f]by the mouth of all his Prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath thus fulfilled.

19 Amend your lives therefore, and turn, that your sins may be put away, when the time of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you.

21 [g]Whom the heaven must contain until the time that all things be restored, which God had spoken by the mouth of all his holy Prophets since the world began.

22 (B)For Moses said unto the Fathers, The Lord your God shall raise up unto you [h]a Prophet, even of your brethren, like unto me: ye shall hear him in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.

23 For it shall be that every person which shall not hear that Prophet, shall be destroyed out of the people.

24 Also all the Prophets [i]from Samuel, and thenceforth as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

25 [j]Ye are the [k]children of the Prophets, and of the covenant, which God hath made unto our fathers, saying to Abraham, (C)Even in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

26 First unto you hath God [l]raised up his Son Jesus, and him he hath sent to bless you, in turning everyone of you from your iniquities.

John 15:12-27

12 (A)This is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you.

13 Greater love than this hath no man, when any man bestoweth his life for his friends.

14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

15 [a]Henceforth call I you not servants: for the servant knoweth not what his master doeth: but I have called you friends: for all things that I have heard of my Father, have I made known to you.

16 [b]Ye [c]have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, (B)that ye go and bring forth fruits, and that your fruit remain, that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my Name, he may give it you.

17 These things command I you, that ye love one another.

18 [d]If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before you.

19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

20 Remember the word that I said unto you, (C)The servant is not greater than his master. (D)If they have persecuted me, they will persecute you also: if they have kept my word, they will also keep yours.

21 [e]But (E)all these things will they do unto you for my Name’s sake, because they have not known him that sent me.

22 [f]If I had not come and spoken unto them, they should not have had sin: but now have they no cloak for their sin.

23 He that hateth me, hateth my Father also.

24 If I had not done works among them which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen, and have hated both me, and my Father.

25 But it is that the word might be fulfilled, that is written in their [g]Law, (F)They hated me without a cause.

26 [h]But when that Comforter shall come, (G)whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth of the Father, he shall testify of me.

27 And ye shall witness also, because ye have been with me from the beginning.
