Psalm 118

Praise to God for His Everlasting Mercy

118 Oh, (A)give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
(B)For His mercy endures forever.

(C)Let Israel now say,
“His mercy endures forever.”
Let the house of Aaron now say,
“His mercy endures forever.”
Let those who fear the Lord now say,
“His mercy endures forever.”

(D)I called on the Lord in distress;
The Lord answered me and (E)set me in a broad place.
(F)The Lord is on my side;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me?
(G)The Lord is for me among those who help me;
Therefore (H)I shall see my desire on those who hate me.
(I)It is better to trust in the Lord
Than to put confidence in man.
(J)It is better to trust in the Lord
Than to put confidence in princes.

10 All nations surrounded me,
But in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.
11 They (K)surrounded me,
Yes, they surrounded me;
But in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.
12 They surrounded me (L)like bees;
They were quenched (M)like a fire of thorns;
For in the name of the Lord I will [a]destroy them.
13 You pushed me violently, that I might fall,
But the Lord helped me.
14 (N)The Lord is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation.

15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation
Is in the tents of the righteous;
The right hand of the Lord does valiantly.
16 (O)The right hand of the Lord is exalted;
The right hand of the Lord does valiantly.
17 (P)I shall not die, but live,
And (Q)declare the works of the Lord.
18 The Lord has (R)chastened[b] me severely,
But He has not given me over to death.

19 (S)Open to me the gates of righteousness;
I will go through them,
And I will praise the Lord.
20 (T)This is the gate of the Lord,
(U)Through which the righteous shall enter.

21 I will praise You,
For You have (V)answered me,
And have become my salvation.

22 (W)The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone.
23 [c]This was the Lord’s doing;
It is marvelous in our eyes.
24 This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.

25 Save now, I pray, O Lord;
O Lord, I pray, send now prosperity.
26 (X)Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
We have blessed you from the house of the Lord.
27 God is the Lord,
And He has given us (Y)light;
Bind the sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar.
28 You are my God, and I will praise You;
(Z)You are my God, I will exalt You.

29 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.

Psalm 145

A Song of God’s Majesty and Love

(A)A Praise of David.

145 I will [a]extol You, my God, O King;
And I will bless Your name forever and ever.
Every day I will bless You,
And I will praise Your name forever and ever.
(B)Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
And (C)His greatness is [b]unsearchable.

(D)One generation shall praise Your works to another,
And shall declare Your mighty acts.
[c]I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty,
And [d]on Your wondrous works.
Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts,
And I will declare Your greatness.
They shall [e]utter the memory of Your great goodness,
And shall sing of Your righteousness.

(E)The Lord is gracious and full of compassion,
Slow to anger and great in mercy.
(F)The Lord is good to all,
And His tender mercies are over all His works.

10 (G)All Your works shall praise You, O Lord,
And Your saints shall bless You.
11 They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom,
And talk of Your power,
12 To make known to the sons of men His mighty acts,
And the glorious majesty of His kingdom.
13 (H)Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
And Your dominion endures throughout all [f]generations.

14 The Lord upholds all who fall,
And (I)raises up all who are bowed down.
15 (J)The eyes of all look expectantly to You,
And (K)You give them their food in due season.
16 You open Your hand
(L)And satisfy the desire of every living thing.

17 The Lord is righteous in all His ways,
Gracious in all His works.
18 (M)The Lord is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him (N)in truth.
19 He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;
He also will hear their cry and save them.
20 (O)The Lord preserves all who love Him,
But all the wicked He will destroy.
21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord,
And all flesh shall bless His holy name
Forever and ever.

Deuteronomy 16:9-12

The Feast of Weeks Reviewed(A)

“You shall count seven weeks for yourself; begin to count the seven weeks from the time you begin to put the sickle to the grain. 10 Then you shall keep the (B)Feast of Weeks to the Lord your God with the tribute of a freewill offering from your hand, which you shall give (C)as the Lord your God blesses you. 11 (D)You shall rejoice before the Lord your God, you and your son and your daughter, your male servant and your female servant, the Levite who is within your gates, the stranger and the fatherless and the widow who are among you, at the place where the Lord your God chooses to make His name abide. 12 (E)And you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and you shall be careful to observe these statutes.

Acts 4:18-21

18 (A)So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, (B)“Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. 20 (C)For we cannot but speak the things which (D)we have seen and heard.” 21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way of punishing them, (E)because of the people, since they all (F)glorified God for (G)what had been done.

Acts 4:23-33

Prayer for Boldness(A)

23 And being let go, (B)they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them. 24 So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: “Lord, (C)You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them, 25 who [a]by the mouth of Your servant David have said:

(D)‘Why did the nations rage,
And the people plot vain things?
26 The kings of the earth took their stand,
And the rulers were gathered together
Against the Lord and against His Christ.’

27 “For (E)truly against (F)Your holy Servant Jesus, (G)whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together 28 (H)to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done. 29 Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants (I)that with all boldness they may speak Your word, 30 by stretching out Your hand to heal, (J)and that signs and wonders may be done (K)through the name of (L)Your holy Servant Jesus.”

31 And when they had prayed, (M)the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, (N)and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

Sharing in All Things

32 Now the multitude of those who believed (O)were of one heart and one soul; (P)neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. 33 And with (Q)great power the apostles gave (R)witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And (S)great grace was upon them all.

John 4:19-26

19 The woman said to Him, “Sir, (A)I perceive that You are a prophet. 20 Our fathers worshiped on (B)this mountain, and you Jews say that in (C)Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.”

21 Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming (D)when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22 You worship (E)what you do not know; we know what we worship, for (F)salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will (G)worship the Father in (H)spirit (I)and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 (J)God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

25 The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah (K)is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, (L)He will tell us all things.”

26 Jesus said to her, (M)“I who speak to you am He.
