Psalm 146-149

146 Praise Yah!
    Praise Yahweh, my soul.
While I live, I will praise Yahweh.
    I will sing praises to my God as long as I exist.
Don’t put your trust in princes,
    in a son of man in whom there is no help.
His spirit departs, and he returns to the earth.
    In that very day, his thoughts perish.
Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help,
    whose hope is in Yahweh, his God,
who made heaven and earth,
    the sea, and all that is in them;
    who keeps truth forever;
who executes justice for the oppressed;
    who gives food to the hungry.
Yahweh frees the prisoners.
    Yahweh opens the eyes of the blind.
    Yahweh raises up those who are bowed down.
    Yahweh loves the righteous.
Yahweh preserves the foreigners.
    He upholds the fatherless and widow,
    but he turns the way of the wicked upside down.
10 Yahweh will reign forever;
    your God, O Zion, to all generations.
Praise Yah!

147 Praise Yah,
    for it is good to sing praises to our God;
    for it is pleasant and fitting to praise him.
Yahweh builds up Jerusalem.
    He gathers together the outcasts of Israel.
He heals the broken in heart,
    and binds up their wounds.
He counts the number of the stars.
    He calls them all by their names.
Great is our Lord, and mighty in power.
    His understanding is infinite.
Yahweh upholds the humble.
    He brings the wicked down to the ground.
Sing to Yahweh with thanksgiving.
    Sing praises on the harp to our God,
who covers the sky with clouds,
    who prepares rain for the earth,
    who makes grass grow on the mountains.
He provides food for the livestock,
    and for the young ravens when they call.
10 He doesn’t delight in the strength of the horse.
    He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man.
11 Yahweh takes pleasure in those who fear him,
    in those who hope in his loving kindness.
12 Praise Yahweh, Jerusalem!
    Praise your God, Zion!
13 For he has strengthened the bars of your gates.
    He has blessed your children within you.
14 He makes peace in your borders.
    He fills you with the finest of the wheat.
15 He sends out his commandment to the earth.
    His word runs very swiftly.
16 He gives snow like wool,
    and scatters frost like ashes.
17 He hurls down his hail like pebbles.
    Who can stand before his cold?
18 He sends out his word, and melts them.
    He causes his wind to blow, and the waters flow.
19 He shows his word to Jacob,
    his statutes and his ordinances to Israel.
20 He has not done this for just any nation.
    They don’t know his ordinances.
Praise Yah!

148 Praise Yah!
    Praise Yahweh from the heavens!
    Praise him in the heights!
Praise him, all his angels!
    Praise him, all his army!
Praise him, sun and moon!
    Praise him, all you shining stars!
Praise him, you heavens of heavens,
    you waters that are above the heavens.
Let them praise Yahweh’s name,
    for he commanded, and they were created.
He has also established them forever and ever.
    He has made a decree which will not pass away.
Praise Yahweh from the earth,
    you great sea creatures, and all depths,
lightning and hail, snow and clouds,
    stormy wind, fulfilling his word,
mountains and all hills,
    fruit trees and all cedars,
10 wild animals and all livestock,
    small creatures and flying birds,
11 kings of the earth and all peoples,
    princes and all judges of the earth,
12 both young men and maidens,
    old men and children.
13 Let them praise Yahweh’s name,
    for his name alone is exalted.
    His glory is above the earth and the heavens.
14 He has lifted up the horn of his people,
    the praise of all his saints,
    even of the children of Israel, a people near to him.
Praise Yah!

149 Praise Yahweh!
    Sing to Yahweh a new song,
    his praise in the assembly of the saints.
Let Israel rejoice in him who made them.
    Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.
Let them praise his name in the dance!
    Let them sing praises to him with tambourine and harp!
For Yahweh takes pleasure in his people.
    He crowns the humble with salvation.
Let the saints rejoice in honor.
    Let them sing for joy on their beds.
May the high praises of God be in their mouths,
    and a two-edged sword in their hand,
to execute vengeance on the nations,
    and punishments on the peoples;
to bind their kings with chains,
    and their nobles with fetters of iron;
to execute on them the written judgment.
    All his saints have this honor.
Praise Yah!

Ezekiel 37:1-14

37 Yahweh’s hand was on me, and he brought me out in Yahweh’s Spirit, and set me down in the middle of the valley; and it was full of bones. He caused me to pass by them all around; and behold, there were very many in the open valley, and behold, they were very dry. He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”

I answered, “Lord Yahweh, you know.”

Again he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and tell them, ‘You dry bones, hear Yahweh’s word. The Lord Yahweh says to these bones: “Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and you will live. I will lay sinews on you, and will bring up flesh on you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you will live. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.”’”

So I prophesied as I was commanded. As I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold, there was an earthquake. Then the bones came together, bone to its bone. I saw, and, behold, there were sinews on them, and flesh came up, and skin covered them above; but there was no breath in them.

Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the wind, prophesy, son of man, and tell the wind, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Come from the four winds, breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.”’”

10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up on their feet, an exceedingly great army.

11 Then he said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost. We are completely cut off.’ 12 Therefore prophesy, and tell them, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Behold, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, my people; and I will bring you into the land of Israel. 13 You will know that I am Yahweh, when I have opened your graves and caused you to come up out of your graves, my people. 14 I will put my Spirit in you, and you will live. Then I will place you in your own land; and you will know that I, Yahweh, have spoken it and performed it,” says Yahweh.’”

Acts 3:11-26

11 As the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.

12 When Peter saw it, he responded to the people, “You men of Israel, why do you marvel at this man? Why do you fasten your eyes on us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made him walk? 13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had determined to release him. 14 But you denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, 15 and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, to which we are witnesses. 16 By faith in his name, his name has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which is through him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

17 “Now, brothers,[a] I know that you did this in ignorance, as did also your rulers. 18 But the things which God announced by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he thus fulfilled.

19 “Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord, 20 and that he may send Christ Jesus, who was ordained for you before, 21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God spoke long ago by the mouth of his holy prophets. 22 For Moses indeed said to the fathers, ‘The Lord God will raise up a prophet for you from among your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him in all things whatever he says to you. 23 It will be that every soul that will not listen to that prophet will be utterly destroyed from among the people.’(A) 24 Yes, and all the prophets from Samuel and those who followed after, as many as have spoken, also told of these days. 25 You are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘All the families of the earth will be blessed through your offspring.’[b](B) 26 God, having raised up his servant Jesus, sent him to you first to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your wickedness.”

John 15:12-27

12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another, even as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are my friends if you do whatever I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for the servant doesn’t know what his lord does. But I have called you friends, for everything that I heard from my Father, I have made known to you. 16 You didn’t choose me, but I chose you and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you will ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you.

17 “I command these things to you, that you may love one another. 18 If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his lord.’(A) If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. 21 But they will do all these things to you for my name’s sake, because they don’t know him who sent me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have had sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 He who hates me, hates my Father also. 24 If I hadn’t done among them the works which no one else did, they wouldn’t have had sin. But now they have seen and also hated both me and my Father. 25 But this happened so that the word may be fulfilled which was written in their law, ‘They hated me without a cause.’(B)

26 “When the Counselor[a] has come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will testify about me. 27 You will also testify, because you have been with me from the beginning.
