Version
Psalm 24

A Psalm of David.

¶ The earth is the LORD’s, and the fullness thereof; the world and they that dwell therein.

For he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers.

¶ Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in the place of his holiness?

He that has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not taken my name in vain, nor sworn deceitfully.

He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his saving health.

This is the generation of those that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.

¶ Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and lift yourselves up, ye everlasting doors, and the King of glory shall come in.

Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.

Lift up your heads, O ye gates; lift yourselves up, ye everlasting doors, and the King of glory shall come in.

10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of the hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

Psalm 29

A Psalm of David.

¶ Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength.

Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thunders: the LORD is upon many waters.

The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.

The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars; yea, the LORD broke the cedars of Lebanon.

And He made them skip like calves; Lebanon and Sirion like the sons of the unicorns.

The voice of the LORD divides the flames of fire.

The voice of the LORD that shall shake the wilderness; the LORD shall shake the wilderness of Kadesh.

The voice of the LORD shall make the hinds to calve and shall uncover the forests: and in his temple every one speaks to his glory.

10 The LORD sits upon the flood; yea, the LORD sat down as King for ever.

11 The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people in peace.

Psalm 8

To the Overcomer upon Gittith, A Psalm of David.

¶ O LORD our Lord, how great is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy praise above the heavens.

Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou might still the enemy and the avenger.

¶ When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

what is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou dost visit him?

For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels and hast crowned him with glory and beauty.

Thou hast made him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

all sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;

The birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, and whatever passes through the paths of the seas.

O LORD our Lord, how great is thy name in all the earth!

Psalm 84

To the Overcomer upon Gittith, A Psalm for the sons of Korah.

¶ How amiable are thy habitations, O LORD of the hosts!

My soul longs, and even faints for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh sing to the living God.

Even the sparrow has found a house and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young upon thine altars, O LORD of the hosts, my King and my God.

Happy are those that dwell in thy house; they shall continually praise thee. Selah.

Happy is the man whose strength is in thee, in whose heart are thy ways,

who passing through the valley of Baca, shall make it a well; the rain also shall fill the pools.

They go forth in a great multitude; and in order, they shall see God in Zion.

¶ O LORD God of the hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.

Behold, O God our shield and look upon the face of thine anointed,

10 for a day in thy courts is better than a thousand outside of them. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield unto us; the LORD will give grace and glory; he will not withhold good from those that walk uprightly.

12 O LORD of the hosts, happy is the man that trusts in thee.

1 Corinthians 12:27-13:13

27 ¶ Now ye are the body of Christ and members in particular.

28 And God did set certain ones in the congregation: {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that faculties, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? do all have faculties?

30 Do all have gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

31 But earnestly pursue the best gifts, and yet I show unto you a more excellent way.

13 ¶ Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal.

And though I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor and though I give my body to be burned and have not charity, it profits me nothing.

¶ Charity suffers long and is benign; charity envies not; charity does nothing without due reason, is not puffed up,

is not injurious, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil,

rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;

bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

¶ Charity is never lost, but prophecies shall come to an end, tongues shall cease, and knowledge shall come to an end.

For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

12 For now we see as through a mirror, in darkness, but then we shall see face to face; now I know in part, but then I shall know even as I also am known.

13 And now abide faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Matthew 18:21-35

21 ¶ Then Peter came to him and said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? until seven times?

22 Jesus said unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times, but, Until seventy times seven.

23 Therefore is the kingdom of the heavens likened unto a man who is king who would take account of his slaves.

24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him who owed him ten thousand talents.

25 But he not having wherewith to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife and children and all that he had, to make payment.

26 The slave therefore fell down and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

27 Then the lord of that slave was moved with compassion and loosed him and forgave him the debt.

28 But as the same slave was leaving, he found one of his fellowslaves who owed him a hundred denarius, and he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me what thou owest.

29 And his fellowslave fell down at his feet and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

30 And he would not, but went and cast him into prison until he should pay the debt.

31 So when his fellowslaves saw what was done, they were very grieved and came and declared unto their lord all that was done.

32 Then his lord, after he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked slave, I forgave thee all that debt because thou didst beseech me;

33 was it not also expedient unto thee to have mercy on thy fellowslave even as I had mercy on thee?

34 And his lord was wroth and delivered him to the tormentors until he should pay all that was due unto him.

35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you unless from your hearts ye forgive every one his brother their trespasses.
