Names of God Bible (NOG)
Version
Psalm 75-76

Psalm 75

For the choir director; al tashcheth; a psalm by Asaph; a song.

We give thanks to you, O Elohim; we give thanks.
You are present, and your miracles confirm that.

When I choose the right time,
    I will judge fairly.
When the earth and everyone who lives on it begin to melt,
I will make its foundations as solid as rock. Selah
I said to those who brag, “Don’t brag,”
    and to wicked people,
        “Don’t raise your weapons.
Don’t raise your weapons so proudly
            or speak so defiantly.”

The authority to reward someone does not come
    from the east,
        from the west,
            or even from the wilderness.
Elohim alone is the Shophet.
He punishes one person and rewards another.
A cup is in Yahweh’s hand.
(Its foaming wine is thoroughly mixed with spices.)
    He will empty it,
and all the wicked people on earth
will have to drink every last drop.

But I will speak about your miracles forever.
I will make music to praise the Elohim of Jacob.
10 I will destroy all the weapons of wicked people,
but the weapons of righteous people will be raised proudly.

Psalm 76

For the choir director; on stringed instruments; a psalm by Asaph; a song.

Elohim is known in Judah.
His name is great in Israel.
His tent is in Salem.
    His home is in Zion.
There he destroyed flaming arrows,
shields, swords, and weapons of war. Selah

You are the radiant one.
You are more majestic than the ancient mountains.[a]
Brave people were robbed.
    They died.
None of the warriors were able to lift a hand.
At your stern warning, O Elohim of Jacob,
chariot riders and horses were put to sleep.

You alone must be feared!
Who can stand in your presence when you become angry?
From heaven you announced a verdict.
The earth was fearful and silent
when you rose to judge, O Elohim,
when you rose to save every oppressed person on earth. Selah

10 Even angry mortals will praise you.
You will wear the remainder of their anger.[b]
11 Make vows to Yahweh your Elohim, and keep them.
Let everyone around him bring gifts to the one who must be feared.
12 He cuts short the lives of influential people.
He terrifies the kings of the earth.

Psalm 23

Psalm 23

A psalm by David.

Yahweh is my Roeh.
    I am never in need.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside peaceful waters.
        He renews my soul.
He guides me along the paths of righteousness
for the sake of his name.
Even though I walk through the dark valley of death,
because you are with me, I fear no harm.
Your rod and your staff give me courage.

You prepare a banquet for me while my enemies watch.
You anoint my head with oil.
    My cup overflows.

Certainly, goodness and mercy will stay close to me all the days of my life,
and I will remain in Yahweh’s house for days without end.

Psalm 27

Psalm 27

By David.

Yahweh is my light and my salvation.
    Who is there to fear?
    Yahweh is my life’s fortress.
Who is there to be afraid of?

Evildoers closed in on me to tear me to pieces.
My opponents and enemies stumbled and fell.
Even though an army sets up camp against me,
my heart will not be afraid.
Even though a war breaks out against me,
I will still have confidence in the Lord.

I have asked one thing from Yahweh.
    This I will seek:
to remain in Yahweh’s house all the days of my life
in order to gaze at Yahweh’s beauty
and to search for an answer in his temple.
He hides me in his shelter when there is trouble.
He keeps me hidden in his tent.
He sets me high on a rock.
Now my head will be raised above my enemies who surround me.
I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy in his tent.
I will sing and make music to praise Yahweh.
Hear, O Yahweh, when I cry aloud.
Have pity on me, and answer me.
When you said,
    “Seek my face,”
        my heart said to you,
            “O Yahweh, I will seek your face.”[a]
Do not hide your face from me.
Do not angrily turn me away.
        You have been my help.
            Do not leave me!
Do not abandon me, O Elohim, my savior!
10 Even if my father and mother abandon me,
Yahweh will take care of me.
11 Teach me your way, O Yahweh.
Lead me on a level path
because I have enemies who spy on me.
12 Do not surrender me to the will of my opponents.
False witnesses have risen against me.
        They breathe out violence.
13 I believe that I will see the goodness of Yahweh
in this world of the living.

14 Wait with hope for Yahweh.
Be strong, and let your heart be courageous.
Yes, wait with hope for Yahweh.

Leviticus 23:23-44

The Fall Festivals

23 Yahweh spoke to Moses, 24 “Tell the Israelites: On the first day of the seventh month hold a worship festival. It will be a memorial day, a holy assembly announced by the blowing of rams’ horns. 25 Don’t do any regular work. Bring a sacrifice by fire to Yahweh.”

26 Yahweh spoke to Moses, 27 “In addition, the tenth day of this seventh month is a special day for the payment for sins. There will be a holy assembly. Humble yourselves, and bring Yahweh a sacrifice by fire. 28 Don’t do any work that day. It is a special day for the payment for sins. It is a time when you make peace with Yahweh your Elohim. 29 Those who do not humble themselves on that day will be excluded from the people. 30 I will kill those who do any work on that day. 31 Don’t do any work. It is a permanent law for generations to come wherever you live. 32 It is a day of worship, a day when you don’t work. Humble yourselves starting on the evening of the ninth day of the month. From that evening to the next, observe the day of worship.”

33 Yahweh spoke to Moses, 34 “Tell the Israelites: The fifteenth day of this seventh month is the Festival of Booths to Yahweh. It will last seven days. 35 On the first day there will be a holy assembly. Don’t do any regular work. 36 For seven consecutive days bring a sacrifice by fire to Yahweh. On the eighth day there will be a holy assembly. Bring Yahweh a sacrifice by fire. This is the last festival of the year. Don’t do any regular work.

37 “These are Yahweh’s appointed festivals. Announce them as holy assemblies for bringing sacrifices by fire to Yahweh. Bring burnt offerings, grain offerings, other sacrifices, and wine offerings—each one on its special day. 38 This is in addition to Yahweh’s days of worship, your gifts, all your vows, and your freewill offerings to Yahweh.

39 “However, on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered what the land produces, celebrate Yahweh’s festival for seven days. The first and the eighth days will be worship festivals. 40 On the first day take the best fruits, palm branches, the branches of leafy trees and poplars, and celebrate in the presence of Yahweh your Elohim for seven days. 41 It is Yahweh’s festival. Celebrate it for seven days each year. This is a permanent law for generations to come. Celebrate this festival in the seventh month. 42 Live in booths for seven days. Everyone born in Israel must live in booths 43 so that generations to come may learn how I made the people of Israel live in booths when I brought them out of Egypt. I am Yahweh your Elohim.”

44 So Moses told the Israelites about Yahweh’s appointed festivals.

2 Thessalonians 3

Paul’s Final Instructions for the Thessalonians

Finally, brothers and sisters, pray that we spread the Lord’s word rapidly and that it will be honored the way it was among you. Also pray that we may be rescued from worthless and evil people, since not everyone shares our faith. But the Lord is faithful and will strengthen you and protect you against the evil one.

The Lord gives us confidence that you are doing and will continue to do what we ordered you to do. May the Lord direct your lives as you show God’s love and Christ’s endurance.

Brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Yeshua Christ we order you not to associate with any believer who doesn’t live a disciplined life and doesn’t follow the tradition you received from us. You know what you must do to imitate us. We lived a disciplined life among you. We didn’t eat anyone’s food without paying for it. Instead, we worked hard and struggled night and day in order not to be a burden to any of you. It’s not as though we didn’t have a right to receive support. Rather, we wanted to set an example for you to follow. 10 While we were with you, we gave you the order: “Whoever doesn’t want to work shouldn’t be allowed to eat.”

11 We hear that some of you are not living disciplined lives. You’re not working, so you go around interfering in other people’s lives. 12 We order and encourage such people by the Lord Yeshua Christ to pay attention to their own work so they can support themselves. 13 Brothers and sisters, we can’t allow ourselves to get tired of doing what is right.

14 It may be that some people will not listen to what we say in this letter. Take note of them and don’t associate with them so that they will feel ashamed. 15 Yet, don’t treat them like enemies, but instruct them like brothers and sisters.

Farewell

16 May the Lord of peace give you his peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.

17 I, Paul, am writing this greeting with my own hand. In every letter that I send, this is proof that I wrote it.

18 The good will[a] of our Lord Yeshua Christ be with all of you.

Matthew 7:13-21

The Narrow Gate

13 “Enter through the narrow gate because the gate and road that lead to destruction are wide. Many enter through the wide gate. 14 But the narrow gate and the road that lead to life are full of trouble. Only a few people find the narrow gate.

False Prophets(A)

15 “Beware of false prophets. They come to you disguised as sheep, but in their hearts they are vicious wolves. 16 You will know them by what they produce.

“People don’t pick grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles, do they? 17 In the same way every good tree produces good fruit, but a rotten tree produces bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, and a rotten tree cannot produce good fruit. 19 Any tree that fails to produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into a fire. 20 So you will know them by what they produce.

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the person who does what my Father in heaven wants.
