Psalm 63

You Are My God

Psalm 63

A psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.
O God, You are my God,
earnestly I seek You.
My soul thirsts for You.
My flesh longs for You
in a dry and weary land, where there is no water.
So, I looked for You in the Sanctuary,
to see Your power and Your glory.
Since Your lovingkindness is better than life,
my lips will praise You.
So I will bless You as long as I live.
In Your name I lift up my hands.[a]
My soul is satisfied as with fat and oil,
so my mouth praises You with joyful lips.

When I remember You on my bed,
I meditate on You through the night watches.
For You have been my help,
and in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy.
My soul clings to You—
Your right hand upholds me.
10 But those who seek my soul to destroy it
will go down to the depths of the earth.
11 They will be gutted by the sword,
and become a prey for jackals.
12 But the king will rejoice in God.
All who swear by Him will boast,
when the mouth speaking lies is shut.

Psalm 98

Creation Rejoices in His Salvation

Psalm 98

A psalm.
Sing to Adonai a new song,
for He has done marvelous things.
His right hand and His holy arm
    have won victory for Him.
Adonai has made His salvation known.
He has revealed His righteousness before the eyes of the nations.
He has remembered His lovingkindness,
His faithfulness to the house of Israel.
All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
Shout joyfully to Adonai, all the earth.
Break forth, sing for joy, and sing praises.
Sing praises to Adonai with the harp,
with the harp and a voice of melody.
With trumpets and sound of the shofar
blast a sound before the King, Adonai.
Let the sea roar and all within it,
the world and those who dwell in it.
Let the rivers clap their hands,
let the mountains sing for joy together—
before Adonai, for He is coming to judge the earth.
He will judge the world with righteousness
and the peoples with fairness.

Psalm 103

As a Father Has Compassion

Psalm 103

Of David.
Bless Adonai, O my soul,
and all that is within me, bless His holy Name.
Bless Adonai, O my soul,
and forget not all His benefits:
He forgives all your iniquity.
He heals all your diseases.
He redeems your life from the Pit.
He crowns you with lovingkindness and compassions.
He satisfies your years with good things,
so that your youth is renewed like an eagle.

Adonai executes justice—
judgments for all who are oppressed.
He made His ways known to Moses,
His deeds to the children of Israel.
Adonai is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, and plentiful in mercy.
He will not always accuse,
nor will He keep His anger forever.
10 He has not treated us according to our sins,
or repaid us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is His mercy for those who fear Him.
12 As far as the east is from the west,
so far has He removed our transgressions from us.
13 As a father has compassion on his children,
so Adonai has compassion on those who fear Him.
14 For He knows our frame.
He remembers that we are but dust.
15 As for man, his days are like grass—
he flourishes like a flower of the field,
16 but when the wind blows over it, it is gone,
and its place is no longer known.
17 But the mercy of Adonai is from everlasting to everlasting
    on those who revere Him,
His righteousness to children’s children,
18 to those who keep His covenant,
who remember to observe His instructions.

19 Adonai has set up His throne in the heavens,
and His kingdom rules over all.
20 Bless Adonai, you angels of His:
mighty in strength, performing His word,
upon hearing the utterance of His word.
21 Bless Adonai, all you His armies,
His servants who do His will.
22 Bless Adonai, all His works everywhere in His dominion.
Bless Adonai, O my soul!

Daniel 9:3-10

So I set my face to the Lord God to seek Him by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth and ashes.

“I prayed to Adonai my God and confessed, saying: ‘O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps covenant and mercy with those who love Him and keep His mitzvot, we have sinned; we have committed iniquity; we have acted wickedly; we have rebelled; we have turned away from Your mitzvot and from Your rulings. We have not listened to Your servants the prophets,[a] who spoke in Your name to our kings, our leaders and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.

“‘You Lord are righteousness, but shame covers our face to this day—the people of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and all Israel, near and far, in all the countries where you have banished them—because they behaved unfaithfully toward you. Adonai, shame covers our face—our kings, our leaders, our fathers—because we have sinned against you. The Lord our God is compassionate and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against Him. 10 We have not obeyed the voice of Adonai Eloheinu by walking in His Torah that He set before us through His servants the prophets.

Hebrews 2:10-18

10 For it was fitting for God—for whom and through whom all things exist—in leading many sons to glory, to perfect through sufferings the initiator of their salvation. 11 For both He who sanctifies and those being sanctified are all from one—so He is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters, [a] 12 saying,

“I will proclaim Your name
to My brothers and sisters.
In the midst of the congregation
I will sing praise to You.”[b]

13 And again,

“I will put My trust in Him.”[c]

And again,

“Here am I and the children God has given Me.”[d]

14 Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared the same humanity—so that through death He might break the power of the one who had the power of death (that is, the devil) 15 and free those who by fear of death were in bondage all their lives. 16 For surely He is not concerned about angels, but about the seed of Abraham. 17 Therefore He had to be made like His brothers in all things, so He might become a merciful and faithful Kohen Gadol in matters relating to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people. [e] 18 Because He Himself suffered when put to the test, He is able to help those being tested.

John 12:44-50

44 Yeshua cried out, “Whoever puts trust in Me believes not in Me but in the One who sent Me! 45 And whoever beholds Me beholds the One who sent Me. 46 As light I have come into the world, so that everyone who trusts in Me should not remain in darkness.

47 “If anyone hears My words but doesn’t keep them, I do not judge him; for I came to save the world, not to judge the world. 48 The one who rejects Me and doesn’t receive My words has a judge; the word I spoke will judge him on the last day. 49 For I did not speak on My own, but the Father Himself who sent Me has commanded Me what to say and speak. 50 And I know that His commandment is life everlasting. Therefore what I say, I say just as the Father has told Me.”
