Psalm 75-76

To the Overcomer upon, Do not destroy, A Psalm or Song of Asaph.

¶ Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks, for that thy name is near, thy wondrous works declare.

When I shall receive the congregation, I will judge uprightly.

The earth and all its inhabitants are dissolved; I bore up the pillars of it. Selah.

I said unto the fools, Do not deal foolishly and to the wicked, Do not lift up the horn:

Do not lift up your horn on high; speak not with a stiff neck.

¶ For promotion comes neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the desert.

But God is the judge; he puts down one and sets up another.

For the cup is in the hand of the LORD, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he pours out of the same; yea, the dregs thereof, shall wring out and swallow up all the wicked of the earth.

But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

10 And I will cut off all the horns of the wicked, but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.

To the Overcomer on Neginoth, A Psalm or Song of Asaph.

¶ In Judah is God known; his name is great in Israel.

In Salem also is his tabernacle and his dwelling place in Zion.

There he broke the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the war. Selah.

Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.

The stouthearted are spoiled; they have slept their sleep; and nothing was found in the hands of the men of might.

At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.

¶ Thou, even thou, art to be feared, and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?

From the heavens thou didst cause judgment to be heard; the earth feared and was still,

when thou didst arise unto judgment, O God, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah.

10 Surely the wrath of man shall cause praise to come unto thee; the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain.

11 Vow and pay unto the LORD your God; let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.

12 He shall cut off the spirit of princes; he is terrible to the kings of the earth.

Psalm 23

A Psalm of David.

¶ The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He makes me to lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside the still waters.

He restores my soul: he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff shall comfort me.

Thou shalt prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; thou hast anointed my head with oil; my cup is running over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will rest in the house of the LORD for ever.

Psalm 27

A Psalm of David.

¶ The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

When the wicked, even my enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

Though a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life to behold the beauty of the LORD and to enquire in his temple.

For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his tabernacle; in the secret of his tent shall he hide me; he shall set me high upon a rock.

And now shall my head be lifted up above my enemies round about me; therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in his tabernacle; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.

¶ Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me and answer me.

My heart has spoken unto me from thee, Seek my face. Thy face, O LORD, will I seek.

Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy slave away in anger: thou hast been my help; do not leave me or forsake me, O God of my saving health.

10 For my father and my mother have left me, and the LORD has taken me up.

11 Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a right path because of my enemies.

12 Deliver me not over unto the will of my enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me and such as breathe out cruelty.

13 I had fainted unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

14 Wait for the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart; wait, I say, for the LORD.

Leviticus 23:23-44

23 ¶ And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

24 Speak unto the sons of Israel, saying, In the seventh month in the first day of the month, ye shall have a rest, an alarm for a reminder, and a holy convocation.

25 Ye shall do no servile work therein; but ye shall offer an offering on fire unto the LORD.

26 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

27 But the tenth day of this seventh month shall be the day of reconciliations; it shall be a holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls and offer an offering made on fire unto the LORD.

28 And ye shall do no work in this same day; for it is a day of reconciliations, to reconcile you before the LORD your God.

29 For every person that shall not afflict themselves in that same day, shall be cut off from among his people.

30 And any person that does any work in that same day, the same person will I destroy from among his people.

31 Ye shall do no manner of work; it shall be a perpetual statute throughout your ages in all your dwellings.

32 It shall be unto you a sabbath of sabbaths, and ye shall afflict your souls, beginning in the ninth day of the month in the evening, from evening unto evening, shall ye rest on your sabbath.

33 ¶ And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

34 Speak unto the sons of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles unto the LORD for seven days.

35 The first day shall be a holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.

36 Seven days ye shall offer an offering on fire unto the LORD; the eighth day ye shall have a holy convocation and offer an offering on fire unto the LORD; it is a feast; and ye shall do no servile work therein.

37 These are the feasts of the LORD, unto which ye shall be summoned: holy convocations to offer an offering on fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering and a present, a sacrifice and drink offerings, every thing in its proper time;

38 in addition the sabbaths of the LORD and in addition to your gifts and in addition to all your vows, and in addition to all your freewill offerings, which ye shall give unto the LORD.

39 But in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days; the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall also be a sabbath.

40 And on the first day ye shall take branches with fruit of a beautiful tree, palm branches and the boughs of thick trees and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days.

41 And ye shall keep this feast unto the LORD for seven days each year. It shall be a perpetual statute for your ages; ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month.

42 Ye shall dwell in tabernacles seven days; all that are natural of Israel shall dwell in booths,

43 that your descendants may know that I made the sons of Israel to dwell in tabernacles when I brought them out of the land of Egypt. I AM your God.

44 Thus Moses declared unto the sons of Israel the feasts of the LORD.

2 Thessalonians 3

¶ Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course and be glorified, even as it is with you,

And that we may be delivered from perverse and wicked men, for the faith is not of everyone.

But the Lord is faithful, who shall confirm you and keep you from evil.

And we have confidence in the Lord regarding you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.

And the Lord make your hearts upright in the charity of God and in the hope of the Christ.

¶ Now we charge you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walks out of order, and not after the doctrine which ye received of us.

For you know in what manner you ought to imitate us, for we did not walk disorderly among you,

neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought, but working with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you,

Not because we did not have authority, but to give you an example that you might imitate us.

10 For even when we were with you, this we declared unto you, that if anyone desires not to work neither should he eat.

11 For we hear that there are some who walk among you out of order, not working at all, but are busybodies.

12 Now those that are such, we charge and exhort in our Lord Jesus Christ, that working with quietness, they eat their bread.

13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.

14 And if anyone does not hearken unto our word by this epistle, note that one and do not join with him, that he may be ashamed.

15 Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

16 ¶ Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by every means. The Lord be with you all.

17 Receive saving health from my hand, Paul, which is the sign in all my letters: so I write.

18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Matthew 7:13-21

13 Enter ye in at the narrow gate, for the way that leads to destruction is wide and spacious, and those who follow it are many;

14 because narrow is the gate, and confined is the way which leads unto life, and there are few that find it.

15 ¶ Keep yourselves also from the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17 Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit, but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit.

18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

19 Every tree that does not bring forth good fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire.

20 So that by their fruits ye shall know them.

21 ¶ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in the heavens.
