Book of Common Prayer
93 1 He praiseth the power of God in the creation of the world, and beateth down all people which lift them up against his majesty, 5 and provoked to consider his promises.
1 The Lord [a]reigneth, and is clothed with majesty: the Lord is clothed, and girded with power, the world also shall be established, that it cannot be moved.
2 Thy [b]throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.
3 [c]The floods have lifted up, O Lord: the floods have lifted up their voice: the floods lift up their waves.
4 The waves of the sea are marvelous through the noise of many waters, yet the Lord on high is more mighty.
5 Thy [d]testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine House, O Lord, forever.
96 1 An exhortation both to the Jews and Gentiles to praise God for his mercy. And this specially ought to be referred to the kingdom of Christ.
1 Sing [a]unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord all the earth.
2 Sing unto the Lord, and praise his Name: declare his salvation from day to day.
3 Declare his glory among all nations, and his wonders among all people.
4 For the Lord is [b]great and much to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.
5 For all the gods of the people are [c]idols: but the Lord [d]made the heavens.
6 [e]Strength and glory are before him: power and beauty are in his Sanctuary.
7 Give unto the Lord, ye families of the people: give unto the Lord glory and [f]power.
8 Give unto the Lord the glory of his Name: bring [g]an offering, and enter into his courts.
9 Worship the Lord in the glorious Sanctuary: tremble before him all the earth.
10 Say among the [h]Nations, The Lord reigneth: Surely the world shall be stable, and not move, and he shall judge the people [i]in righteousness.
11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad: let the sea roar, and all that therein is.
12 Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it: let all the [j]trees of the wood then rejoice,
13 Before the Lord: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he will judge the world with righteousness, and the people in his truth.
148 1 He provoketh all creatures to praise the Lord in heaven and earth, and all places. 14 Specially his Church, for the power that he hath given to the same, after that he had chosen them and joined them unto him.
Praise ye the Lord.
1 Praise ye the Lord from the heaven: praise ye him in the high places.
2 Praise ye him, all ye [a]his Angels: praise him, all his army.
3 Praise ye him, [b]sun and moon: praise ye him all bright stars.
4 Praise ye him [c]heavens of heavens, and [d]waters, that be above the heavens.
5 Let them praise the Name of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created.
6 And he hath established them forever and ever: he hath made an ordinance, which shall not pass.
7 Praise ye the Lord from the earth, ye [e]dragons and all depths:
8 [f]Fire and hail, snow and vapors, stormy wind, which execute his word.
9 Mountains and all hills, fruitful trees, and all cedars:
10 Beasts and all cattle, creeping things and feathered fowls:
11 [g]Kings of the earth and all people, princes and all judges of the world:
12 Young men and maidens, also old men and children:
13 Let them praise the Name of the Lord: for his Name only is to be exalted, and his praise above the earth and the heavens.
14 For he hath exalted the [h]horn of his people, which is a praise for all his Saints, even for the [i]children of Israel, a people that is near unto him. Praise ye the Lord.
150 1 An exhortation to praise the Lord without cease by all manner of ways for all his mighty and wonderful works.
Praise ye the Lord.
1 Praise ye God in his [a]Sanctuary: praise ye him in the [b]firmament of his power.
2 Praise ye him in his mighty Acts: praise ye him according to his excellent greatness.
3 Praise ye him in the sound of the [c]trumpet: praise ye him upon the viol and the harp.
4 Praise ye him with timbrel and flute: praise ye him with virginals and organs.
5 Praise ye him with sounding cymbals: praise ye him with high sounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that hath [d]breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.
15 [a]Brethren, I speak as [b]men do: (A)though it be but a man’s covenant, when it is [c]confirmed, yet no man doth abrogate it, or addeth anything thereto,
16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, and to the seeds, as speaking of many: but, And to thy seed, as of one, [d]which is [e]Christ.
17 [f]And this I say, that the covenant that was confirmed afore of God [g]in respect of Christ, the [h]Law which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
18 [i]For if the [j]inheritance be of the Law, it is no more by the promise, but God gave it freely unto Abraham by promise.
19 [k]Wherefore then serveth the Law? It was added because of the [l]transgressions, [m]till the seed came, unto the which the promise was made: [n]and it was [o]ordained by [p]Angels in the hand of a Mediator.
20 Now a Mediator is not a Mediator of one: [q]but God is one.
21 [r]Is the Law then against the promises of God? God forbid: For if there had been a Law given which could have given life, surely righteousness should have been by the Law.
22 But the [s]Scripture hath (B)concluded [t]all under sin, that the [u]promise by the faith of Jesus Christ should be given to them that believe.
67 [a]Then his father Zacharias was filled with the holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,
68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, because he hath [b]visited (A)and [c]redeemed his people,
69 (B)And hath raised up the [d]horn of salvation unto us, in the house of his servant David,
70 (C)As he spake by the mouth of his holy Prophets, which were since the world began, saying,
71 That he would send us deliverance from our enemies, and from the hands of all that hate us,
72 That he might show mercy towards our fathers: and [e]remember his holy covenant,
73 (D)And the oath, which he sware to our father Abraham.
74 Which was, that he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hands of our enemies, should serve him without fear,
75 All the days of our life, in (E)holiness and righteousness [f]before him.
76 And thou, [g]babe, shalt be called the Prophet of the most High: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways,
77 And to [h]give knowledge of salvation unto his people, by the [i]remission of their sins,
78 Through the tender mercy of our God, whereby (F)the [j]dayspring from on high hath visited us,
79 To give light to them that sit in darkness, and in the shadow of death, and to guide our feet into the way of [k]peace.
80 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the wilderness, till the day came that he should show himself unto Israel.
The Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ, According to Matthew
1 1 That Jesus is that Messiah, the Savior promised to the Fathers. 18 The nativity of Christ.

5 And Salmon begat (F)Boaz of Rahab. And Boaz begat Obed of Ruth. And Obed begat Jesse.
6 And (G)Jesse begat David the King. And David the King begat Solomon of her that was (H)the wife of Uriah.

11 And (K)Josiah begat Jakim. And Jakim [e]begat Jeconiah and his brethren about the time they were carried away to Babylon.
