Psalm 20-21

Prayer for Victory over Enemies.

For the music director. A Psalm of David.

20 May the Lord answer you (A)on a day of trouble!
May the (B)name of the (C)God of Jacob [a]protect you!
May He send you help (D)from the sanctuary,
And (E)support you from Zion!
May He (F)remember all your meal offerings
And [b](G)accept your burnt offering! Selah

May He grant you your (H)heart’s desire
And (I)fulfill your whole plan!
[c]We will (J)sing for joy over your [d]victory,
And in the name of our God we will (K)set up our banners.
May the Lord (L)fulfill all your desires.

Now (M)I know that the Lord saves His anointed;
He will (N)answer him from His holy heaven
With the [e](O)saving strength of His right hand.
Some praise their chariots and some their (P)horses,
But (Q)we will praise the name of the Lord, our God.
They have (R)bowed down and fallen,
But we have (S)risen and stood upright.
[f](T)Save, Lord;
May the (U)King answer us on the day we call.

Praise for Salvation.

For the music director. A Psalm of David.

21 Lord, in Your strength the king will (V)be glad,
And in Your [g]salvation how greatly he will rejoice!
You have (W)given him his heart’s desire,
And You have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah
For You (X)meet him with the blessings of good things;
You set a (Y)crown of pure gold on his head.
He asked for life from You,
You (Z)gave it to him,
(AA)Length of days forever and ever.
His (AB)glory is great through Your [h]salvation,
(AC)Splendor and majesty You place upon him.
For You make him [i]most (AD)blessed forever;
You make him joyful (AE)with the joy of Your presence.

For the king (AF)trusts in the Lord,
And through the faithfulness of the Most High (AG)he will not be shaken.
Your hand will (AH)find all your enemies;
Your right hand will find those who hate you.
You will make them (AI)as a fiery oven in the time [j]of your anger;
The Lord will (AJ)swallow them up in His wrath,
And (AK)fire will devour them.
10 You will eliminate their [k]descendants from the earth,
And their [l](AL)children from among the sons of mankind.
11 Though they [m](AM)intended evil against You
And (AN)devised a plot,
They will not succeed.
12 For You will (AO)make them turn their back;
You will take aim at their faces (AP)with Your bowstrings.
13 Be exalted, Lord, in Your strength;
We will (AQ)sing and praise Your power.

Psalm 110

The Lord Gives Dominion to the King.

A Psalm of David.

110 (A)The Lord says to my Lord:
(B)Sit at My right hand
Until I make (C)Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”
The Lord will stretch out Your strong (D)scepter from Zion, saying,
(E)Rule in the midst of Your enemies.”
Your (F)people [a]will volunteer freely on the day of Your [b]power;
(G)In [c]holy splendor, from the womb of the dawn,
[d]Your youth are to You as the (H)dew.

(I)The Lord has sworn and will (J)not [e]change His mind,
“You are a (K)priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek.”
The Lord is (L)at Your right hand;
He [f]will (M)shatter kings in the (N)day of His wrath.
He will (O)judge among the nations,
He [g]will fill them with (P)corpses,
He [h]will (Q)shatter the [i]chief men over a broad country.
He will (R)drink from the brook by the wayside;
Therefore He will (S)lift up His head.

Psalm 116-117

Thanksgiving for Rescue from Death.

116 (A)I love the Lord, because He (B)hears
My voice and my pleas.
Because He has (C)inclined His ear to me,
Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.
The (D)snares of death encompassed me
And the [a]terrors of [b]Sheol [c]came upon me;
I found distress and sorrow.
Then (E)I called upon the name of the Lord:
“Please, Lord, (F)save my [d]life!”

(G)Gracious is the Lord, and (H)righteous;
Yes, our God is (I)compassionate.
The Lord watches over (J)the simple;
I was (K)brought low, and He saved me.
Return to your (L)rest, my soul,
For the Lord has (M)dealt generously with you.
For You have (N)rescued my soul from death,
My eyes from tears,
And my feet from stumbling.
I shall walk before the Lord
In the [e](O)land of the living.
10 I (P)believed when I said,
“I am (Q)greatly afflicted.”
11 I (R)said in my alarm,
(S)All people are liars.”

12 What shall I (T)repay to the Lord
For all His (U)benefits [f]to me?
13 I will lift up the (V)cup of salvation,
And (W)call upon the name of the Lord.
14 I will (X)pay my vows to the Lord;
May it be (Y)in the presence of all His people!
15 (Z)Precious in the sight of the Lord
Is the death of His godly ones.
16 O Lord, [g]I surely am (AA)Your slave,
I am Your slave, the (AB)son of Your female slave,
You have (AC)unfastened my restraints.
17 I will offer You (AD)a sacrifice of thanksgiving,
And (AE)call upon the name of the Lord.
18 I will (AF)pay my vows to the Lord,
May it be in the presence of all His people,
19 In the (AG)courtyards of the Lords house,
In the midst of you, (AH)Jerusalem!
[h]Praise [i]the Lord!

A Psalm of Praise.

117 (AI)Praise the Lord, all nations;
Sing His praises, all peoples!
For His (AJ)mercy toward us is [j]great,
And the [k](AK)truth of the Lord is everlasting.
[l]Praise [m]the Lord!

Proverbs 8:22-36

22 “The Lord [a]created me (A)at the beginning of His way,
Before His works [b]of old.
23 From eternity I was [c](B)established,
From the beginning, (C)from the earliest times of the earth.
24 When there were no (D)ocean depths, I was born,
When there were no springs abounding with water.
25 (E)Before the mountains were settled,
Before the hills, I was born;
26 While He had not yet made the earth and the [d]fields,
Nor the first dust of the world.
27 When He (F)established the heavens, I was there;
When (G)He inscribed a circle on the face of the deep,
28 When He made firm the skies above,
When the springs of the deep became [e]fixed,
29 When (H)He set a boundary for the sea
So that the water would not violate His [f]command,
When He marked out (I)the foundations of the earth;
30 Then (J)I was beside Him, as a master workman;
And I was His delight daily,
[g]Rejoicing always before Him,
31 [h]Rejoicing in the world, His earth,
And having (K)my delight in the sons of mankind.

32 “Now then, sons, (L)listen to me,
For (M)blessed are those who keep my ways.
33 (N)Listen to instruction and be wise,
And do not neglect it.
34 (O)Blessed is the person who listens to me,
Watching daily at my gates,
Waiting at my doorposts.
35 For (P)one who finds me finds life,
And (Q)obtains favor from the Lord.
36 But one who [i]sins against me (R)injures himself;
All those who (S)hate me (T)love death.”

3 John

A Good Report

(A)The elder to the beloved (B)Gaius, whom I (C)love in truth.

Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers. For I (D)was overjoyed when (E)brothers came and testified to your truth, that is, how you (F)are walking in truth. I have no greater joy than [a]this, to hear of (G)my children (H)walking in the truth.

Beloved, you are acting faithfully in whatever you accomplish for the (I)brothers and sisters, and [b]especially when they are (J)strangers; and they have testified to your love before the church. You will do well to [c](K)send them on their way in a manner (L)worthy of God. For they went out for the sake of (M)the Name, (N)accepting nothing from the Gentiles. Therefore we ought to [d]support such people, so that we may [e]prove to be fellow workers [f]with the truth.

I wrote something to the church; but Diotrephes, who loves to (O)be first among them, does not accept [g]what we say. 10 For this reason, (P)if I come, I will call attention to his deeds which he does, unjustly accusing us with malicious words; and not satisfied with this, he himself does not (Q)receive the (R)brothers either, and he forbids those who want to do so and (S)puts them out of the church.

11 Beloved, (T)do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. (U)The one who does what is good is of God; (V)the one who does what is evil has not seen God. 12 Demetrius (W)has received a good testimony from everyone, and from the truth itself; and we testify too, and (X)you know that our testimony is true.

13 (Y)I had many things to write to you, but I do not want to write to you with pen and ink; 14 but I hope to see you shortly, and we will speak [h]face to face.

15 (Z)Peace be to you. The friends greet you. Greet the friends (AA)by name.

Matthew 12:15-21

15 But Jesus, [a]aware of this, withdrew from there. Many followed Him, and (A)He healed them all, 16 and (B)warned them not to [b]tell who He was. 17 This happened so that what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet would be fulfilled:

18 (C)Behold, My [c]Servant whom I [d]have chosen;
(D)My Beloved in whom My soul [e]delights;
(E)I will put My Spirit upon Him,
(F)And He will proclaim [f]justice to the [g]Gentiles.
19 (G)He will not quarrel, nor cry out;
Nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets.
20 (H)A bent reed He will not break off,
And a dimly burning wick He will not extinguish,
Until He [h]leads [i]justice to victory.
21 (I)And in His name the [j]Gentiles will hope.”
