  189. Daniel's Vision of the Four Beasts

    In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel saw a dream and visions of his head as he lay in his bed. Then he wrote down the dream and told the sum of the matter.
  190. And I, Daniel, was overcome and lay sick for some days. Then I rose and went about the king's business, but I was appalled by the vision and did not understand it.
  191. And I will lay waste her vines and her fig trees, of which she said, ‘These are my wages, which my lovers have given me.’ I will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall devour them.
  192. they lay themselves down beside every altar on garments taken in pledge, and in the house of their God they drink the wine of those who have been fined.
  193. Therefore they called out to the Lord, “O Lord, let us not perish for this man's life, and lay not on us innocent blood, for you, O Lord, have done as it pleased you.”
  194. All her carved images shall be beaten to pieces, all her wages shall be burned with fire, and all her idols I will lay waste, for from the fee of a prostitute she gathered them, and to the fee of a prostitute they shall return.
  195. The nations shall see and be ashamed of all their might; they shall lay their hands on their mouths; their ears shall be deaf;
  196. You went out for the salvation of your people, for the salvation of your anointed. You crushed the head of the house of the wicked, laying him bare from thigh to neck. Selah
  197. If you will not listen, if you will not take it to heart to give honor to my name, says the Lord of hosts, then I will send the curse upon you and I will curse your blessings. Indeed, I have already cursed them, because you do not lay it to heart.
  198. Lay Up Treasures in Heaven

    “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal,
  199. but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
  200. And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”
  201. A Girl Restored to Life and a Woman Healed

    While he was saying these things to them, behold, a ruler came in and knelt before him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live.”
  202. Let the Children Come to Me

    Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people,
  203. They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on people's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger.
  204. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.
  205. Now Simon's mother-in-law lay ill with a fever, and immediately they told him about her.
  206. And when they could not get near him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him, and when they had made an opening, they let down the bed on which the paralytic lay.
  207. and implored him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter is at the point of death. Come and lay your hands on her, so that she may be made well and live.”
  208. And they brought to him a man who was deaf and had a speech impediment, and they begged him to lay his hand on him.
  209. And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.
  210. they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
  211. And behold, some men were bringing on a bed a man who was paralyzed, and they were seeking to bring him in and lay him before Jesus,

  213. So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.”
  214. And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
  215. Paying Taxes to Caesar

    The scribes and the chief priests sought to lay hands on him at that very hour, for they perceived that he had told this parable against them, but they feared the people.
  216. But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name's sake.
  217. When I was with you day after day in the temple, you did not lay hands on me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness.”
  218. In these lay a multitude of invalids—blind, lame, and paralyzed.
  219. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
  220. just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.
  221. For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again.
  222. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father.”
  223. Jesus Raises Lazarus

    Then Jesus, deeply moved again, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it.
  224. Peter said to him, “Lord, why can I not follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”
  225. Jesus answered, “Will you lay down your life for me? Truly, truly, I say to you, the rooster will not crow till you have denied me three times.
  226. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
  227. Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money,
  228. saying, “Give me this power also, so that anyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”
  229. and he has seen in a vision a man named Ananias come in and lay his hands on him so that he might regain his sight.”
  230. So Ananias departed and entered the house. And laying his hands on him he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus who appeared to you on the road by which you came has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
  231. For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay on you no greater burden than these requirements:
  232. When neither sun nor stars appeared for many days, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope of our being saved was at last abandoned.
  233. And as the sailors were seeking to escape from the ship, and had lowered the ship's boat into the sea under pretense of laying out anchors from the bow,
  234. It happened that the father of Publius lay sick with fever and dysentery. And Paul visited him and prayed, and putting his hands on him, healed him.
  235. as it is written, “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense; and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”
  236. For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
  237. So if you have such cases, why do you lay them before those who have no standing in the church?
  238. I say this for your own benefit, not to lay any restraint upon you, but to promote good order and to secure your undivided devotion to the Lord.
  239. Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, nor take part in the sins of others; keep yourself pure.
  240. For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands,
  241. Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,
  242. and of instruction about washings, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
  243. Jesus, Founder and Perfecter of Our Faith

    Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
  244. For it stands in Scripture: “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”
  245. By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
  246. But to the rest of you in Thyatira, who do not hold this teaching, who have not learned what some call the deep things of Satan, to you I say, I do not lay on you any other burden.
