  5. But Rahab the prostitute, with her family and all who belonged to her, Joshua spared. Her family has lived in Israel ever since. For she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.

  7. By his power he stilled the Sea; by his understanding he struck down Rahab.
  8. Among those who know me I mention Rahab and Babylon; Philistia, too, and Tyre, with Cush— “This one was born there,” they say.
  9. You crushed Rahab like a carcass; you scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.
  10. For Egypt’s help is worthless and empty; therefore I have called her, “Rahab who sits still.”
  11. Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord! Awake, as in days of old, the generations of long ago! Was it not you who cut Rahab in pieces, who pierced the dragon?
  12. and Salmon the father of Boaz by Rahab, and Boaz the father of Obed by Ruth, and Obed the father of Jesse,
  13. By faith Rahab the prostitute did not perish with those who were disobedient, because she had received the spies in peace.
