  13. Righteousness through Faith

    But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from law, although the law and the prophets bear witness to it,
  14. the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction;
  15. whom God put forward as an expiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins;
  16. For what does the scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness.”
  17. And to one who does not work but trusts him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is reckoned as righteousness.
  18. So also David pronounces a blessing upon the man to whom God reckons righteousness apart from works:
  19. Is this blessing pronounced only upon the circumcised, or also upon the uncircumcised? We say that faith was reckoned to Abraham as righteousness.
  20. He received circumcision as a sign or seal of the righteousness which he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. The purpose was to make him the father of all who believe without being circumcised and who thus have righteousness reckoned to them,
  21. God’s Promise Realized through Faith

    The promise to Abraham and his descendants, that they should inherit the world, did not come through the law but through the righteousness of faith.
  22. That is why his faith was “reckoned to him as righteousness.”
  23. If, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.
  24. Then as one man’s trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one man’s act of righteousness leads to acquittal and life for all men.
  25. so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
  26. Do not yield your members to sin as instruments of wickedness, but yield yourselves to God as men who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments of righteousness.
  27. Slaves of Righteousness

    What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!
  28. Do you not know that if you yield yourselves to any one as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?
  29. and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness.
  30. I am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations. For just as you once yielded your members to impurity and to greater and greater iniquity, so now yield your members to righteousness for sanctification.
  31. When you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.
  32. But if Christ is in you, although your bodies are dead because of sin, your spirits are alive because of righteousness.
  33. Israel’s Unbelief

    What shall we say, then? That Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness have attained it, that is, righteousness through faith;
  34. but that Israel who pursued the righteousness which is based on law did not succeed in fulfilling that law.
  35. For, being ignorant of the righteousness that comes from God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.
  36. Salvation Is for All

    Moses writes that the man who practices the righteousness which is based on the law shall live by it.
  37. But the righteousness based on faith says, Do not say in your heart, “Who will ascend into heaven?” (that is, to bring Christ down)
  38. For the kingdom of God does not mean food and drink but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit;
  39. He is the source of your life in Christ Jesus, whom God made our wisdom, our righteousness and sanctification and redemption;
  40. For if there was splendor in the dispensation of condemnation, the dispensation of righteousness must far exceed it in splendor.
  41. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
  42. truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left;
  43. The Temple of the Living God

    Do not be mismated with unbelievers. For what partnership have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?
  44. As it is written, “He scatters abroad, he gives to the poor; his righteousness endures for ever.”
  45. He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your resources and increase the harvest of your righteousness.
  46. So it is not strange if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.

  53. as to zeal a persecutor of the church, as to righteousness under the law blameless.
  54. and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own, based on law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith;
  55. The Good Fight of Faith

    But as for you, man of God, shun all this; aim at righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.
  56. So shun youthful passions and aim at righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call upon the Lord from a pure heart.
  57. All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

    Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours in the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
  71. if he did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a herald of righteousness, with seven other persons, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly;
  72. For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them.
  73. But according to his promise we wait for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
  74. The Rider on the White Horse
