Attack on Job’s Character
Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.

The Lord said to Satan, “Whence have you come?” Satan answered the Lord, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.”

And the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?”

Then Satan answered the Lord, “Does Job fear God for nought?

And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only upon himself do not put forth your hand.” So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.

Attack on Job’s Health
Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them to present himself before the Lord.

And the Lord said to Satan, “Whence have you come?” Satan answered the Lord, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.”

And the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil? He still holds fast his integrity, although you moved me against him, to destroy him without cause.”

Then Satan answered the Lord, “Skin for skin! All that a man has he will give for his life.

And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, he is in your power; only spare his life.”

So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord, and afflicted Job with loathsome sores from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head.

Fourth Vision: Joshua and Satan
Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him.

And the Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, O Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is not this a brand plucked from the fire?”

Then Jesus said to him, “Begone, Satan! for it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.’”

and if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then will his kingdom stand?

But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me; for you are not on the side of God, but of men.”

And he was in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan; and he was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to him.

And he called them to him, and said to them in parables, “How can Satan cast out Satan?

And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but is coming to an end.

And these are the ones along the path, where the word is sown; when they hear, Satan immediately comes and takes away the word which is sown in them.

But turning and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter, and said, “Get behind me, Satan! For you are not on the side of God, but of men.”

And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

And if Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Be-el′zebul.

And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?”
