Psalm 13
Prayer for Deliverance from Enemies
To the leader. A Psalm of David.
How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?
-
Why do you hide your face? Why do you forget our affliction and oppression?
-
Hear, O daughter, consider and incline your ear; forget your people and your father’s house,
-
Mark this, then, you who forget God, or I will tear you apart, and there will be no one to deliver.
-
Do not kill them, or my people may forget; make them totter by your power and bring them down, O Lord, our shield.
-
Do not deliver the soul of your dove to the wild animals; do not forget the life of your poor forever.
-
Do not forget the clamor of your foes, the uproar of your adversaries that goes up continually.
-
so that they should set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments;
-
Are your wonders known in the darkness or your saving help in the land of forgetfulness?
-
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget all his benefits—
-
I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word.
-
Though the cords of the wicked ensnare me, I do not forget your law.
-
I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have given me life.
-
I hold my life in my hand continually, but I do not forget your law.
-
My zeal consumes me because my foes forget your words.
-
I am small and despised, yet I do not forget your precepts.
-
Look on my misery and rescue me, for I do not forget your law.
-
I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek out your servant, for I do not forget your commandments.
-
If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand wither!
-
who forsakes the partner of her youth and forgets her sacred covenant,
-
Admonition to Trust and Honor God
My child, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments,
-
Get wisdom; get insight: do not forget nor turn away from the words of my mouth.
-
lest they drink and forget what has been decreed and pervert the rights of all the afflicted.
-
let them drink and forget their poverty and remember their misery no more.
-
Israel Is Not Forgotten
Remember these things, O Jacob, and Israel, for you are my servant; I formed you, you are my servant; O Israel, do not forget me.
