  1. Ezekiel Sees the Lord’s Throne

On the fifth day of the fourth month in the thirtieth year, while I was living among the exiles by the Chebar River, the sky opened, and I saw visions from Elohim.
  2. It stretched out what looked like a hand and grabbed me by the hair on my head. In these visions from Elohim, the Ruach carried me between heaven and earth. He took me to Jerusalem, to the entrance to the north gate of the inner courtyard of the temple. That was where an idol that stirs up God’s anger was located.
  3. There I saw the glory of Israel’s Elohim as I did in the vision that I saw in the valley.
  4. Elohim said to me, “Son of man, look toward the north.” So I looked toward the north, and there in the entrance to the north gate beside the altar, I saw the idol that stirs up God’s anger.
  5. Elohim asked me, “Son of man, do you see what the leaders of the nation of Israel are doing in secret? Each of them is in the room where his god is, and each one of them is thinking, ‘Yahweh doesn’t see me. Yahweh has abandoned this land.’”
  6. Then the glory of the Elohim of Israel went up from the angels, where it had been, to the temple’s entrance. Yahweh called to the person dressed in linen who was carrying paper and pen.
  7. The angels lifted their wings and rose from the ground. I was watching them as they left with the wheels beside them. The angels stood at the door to the east gate of Yahweh’s temple, and the glory of the Elohim of Israel was above them.
  8. These are the living creatures that I saw under the Elohim of Israel at the Chebar River. I realized that they were angels.
  9. Then they will live by my laws and obey my rules. They will be my people, and I will be their Elohim.
  10. The Glory of the Lord Leaves Jerusalem

Then the angels raised their wings, with the wheels beside them. The glory of the Elohim of Israel was above them.
  11. In this vision from the Ruach Elohim, the Ruach lifted me and brought me to the exiles in Babylonia. Then the vision I saw left me.
  12. Then the people of Israel will no longer wander away from me. They will no longer dishonor me with all their sins. Then they will be my people, and I will be their Elohim, declares Adonay Yahweh.’”
  13. Tell them, ‘This is what Adonay Yahweh says: When I chose Israel, I raised my hand and swore an oath to the descendants of Jacob’s family. I made myself known to them in Egypt. I made a promise to them and said, “I am Yahweh your Elohim.”
  14. I said to them, “Get rid of the detestable idols that you look to for help. Don’t dishonor yourselves with the disgusting idols of Egypt. I am Yahweh your Elohim.”
  15. I am Yahweh your Elohim. Live by my laws. Obey my rules and follow them.
  16. Set apart certain holy days to worship me. This will be a sign between me and you so that you will know that I am Yahweh your Elohim.”
  17. “Son of man, tell the ruler of Tyre, ‘This is what Adonay Yahweh says: In your arrogance you say, “I’m a god. I sit on Elohim’s throne in the sea.” But you’re only human and not a god, although you think you are a god.
  18. “‘This is what Adonay Yahweh says: You think you are wise like Elohim.
  19. You were in Eden, Elohim’s garden. You were covered with every kind of precious stone: red quartz, topaz, crystal, beryl, onyx, gray quartz, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald. Your settings and your sockets were made of gold when you were created.
  20. I appointed an angel to guard you. You were on Elohim’s holy mountain. You walked among fiery stones.
  21. You traded far and wide. You learned to be violent, and you sinned. So I threw you down from Elohim’s mountain in disgrace. The guardian angel forced you out from the fiery stones.
  22. They will live there in safety. They will build homes and plant vineyards. They will live in safety when I punish all the surrounding people who treat them with scorn. Then they will know that I am Yahweh their Elohim.’”
  23. The cedar trees in Elohim’s garden couldn’t compare to it. The pine trees couldn’t equal its branches. The plane trees couldn’t measure up to its branches. All the trees in Elohim’s garden couldn’t match its beauty.
  24. I was the one who made it beautiful with its many branches. This tree was the envy of all the trees in Eden, in Elohim’s garden.
  25. I, Yahweh, will be their Elohim, and my servant David will be their prince. I, Yahweh, have spoken.
