    The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
  2. So the Jews answered and said to Him, “What sign do You show to us, since You do these things?”
  3. Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.”

  6. Jesus Predicts His Departure

  7. Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”
  8. Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.
  9. Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me?
  10. And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
  11. Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.
  12. Therefore some of the Pharisees said, “This Man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath.” Others said, “How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?” And there was a division among them.
  13. So they again called the man who was blind, and said to him, “Give God the glory! We know that this Man is a sinner.”
  14. He answered and said, “Whether He is a sinner or not I do not know. One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see.”
  15. Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him.
  16. Since the world began it has been unheard of that anyone opened the eyes of one who was born blind.
  17. They answered and said to him, “You were completely born in sins, and are you teaching us?” And they cast him out.
  18. Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, ‘We see.’ Therefore your sin remains.
  19. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.
  20. If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father.
  21. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
  22. of sin, because they do not believe in Me;
  23. Jesus answered, “You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above. Therefore the one who delivered Me to you has the greater sin.”
  24. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”
