The Upper Room Prayer Meeting
Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey.

These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.

And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

A Lame Man Healed
Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.

Prayer for Boldness
And being let go, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them.

And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”

But Peter put them all out, and knelt down and prayed. And turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up.

a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, who gave alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always.

And when he observed him, he was afraid, and said, “What is it, lord?” So he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God.

Peter’s Vision
The next day, as they went on their journey and drew near the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour.

So Cornelius said, “Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your alms are remembered in the sight of God.

“I was in the city of Joppa praying; and in a trance I saw a vision, an object descending like a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came to me.

Peter Freed from Prison
Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.

So, when he had considered this, he came to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose surname was Mark, where many were gathered together praying.

Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away.

So when they had appointed elders in every church, and prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed.

And on the Sabbath day we went out of the city to the riverside, where prayer was customarily made; and we sat down and spoke to the women who met there.

Paul and Silas Imprisoned
Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling.

But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.
