  1. But the house of Israel will not listen to you, because they will not listen to Me; for all the house of Israel are impudent and hard-hearted.
  2. Moreover He said to me: “Son of man, receive into your heart all My words that I speak to you, and hear with your ears.

  7. “Likewise, son of man, set your face against the daughters of your people, who prophesy out of their own heart; prophesy against them,
  8. “Because with lies you have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and you have strengthened the hands of the wicked, so that he does not turn from his wicked way to save his life.
  9. “Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts, and put before them that which causes them to stumble into iniquity. Should I let Myself be inquired of at all by them?
  10. “Therefore speak to them, and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Everyone of the house of Israel who sets up his idols in his heart, and puts before him what causes him to stumble into iniquity, and then comes to the prophet, I the Lord will answer him who comes, according to the multitude of his idols,
  11. that I may seize the house of Israel by their heart, because they are all estranged from Me by their idols.” ’
  12. For anyone of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell in Israel, who separates himself from Me and sets up his idols in his heart and puts before him what causes him to stumble into iniquity, then comes to a prophet to inquire of him concerning Me, I the Lord will answer him by Myself.
  13. “How degenerate is your heart!” says the Lord God, “seeing you do all these things, the deeds of a brazen harlot.
  14. Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Israel?
  15. because they despised My judgments and did not walk in My statutes, but profaned My Sabbaths; for their heart went after their idols.
  16. Sigh therefore, son of man, with a breaking heart, and sigh with bitterness before their eyes.
  17. And it shall be when they say to you, ‘Why are you sighing?’ that you shall answer, ‘Because of the news; when it comes, every heart will melt, all hands will be feeble, every spirit will faint, and all knees will be weak as water. Behold, it is coming and shall be brought to pass,’ says the Lord God.”
  18. I have set the point of the sword against all their gates, That the heart may melt and many may stumble. Ah! It is made bright; It is grasped for slaughter:
  19. Can your heart endure, or can your hands remain strong, in the days when I shall deal with you? I, the Lord, have spoken, and will do it.

  29. So they come to you as people do, they sit before you as My people, and they hear your words, but they do not do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their hearts pursue their own gain.
  30. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
  31. The altar hearth is four cubits high, with four horns extending upward from the hearth.
  32. The altar hearth is twelve cubits long, twelve wide, square at its four corners;
  33. When you brought in foreigners, uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in My sanctuary to defile it—My house—and when you offered My food, the fat and the blood, then they broke My covenant because of all your abominations.
  34. Thus says the Lord God: “No foreigner, uncircumcised in heart or uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter My sanctuary, including any foreigner who is among the children of Israel.
  35. There was a row of building stones all around in them, all around the four of them; and cooking hearths were made under the rows of stones all around.
